so now we have a food czar to oversea all that we may be allowed to put in our mouths. I am so glad I helped construct a limited government. I totally feel as if this is what I was visualizing. In fact I think I even named my second child “czar” but now that I am dead it is difficult to recall accurately.

  4. @M/L – is it the sort of Mossad agent that looks like Anna Chapman? regardless, of course, the said agent will have to dispose of you in some way now that you have revealed this info on such a forum board . . . good luck and don’t eat any sushi (or order soup)

  5. Marc Authier

To have a police state, you need ‘terrorists’ or ‘anarchists’. Most of these bastards worlk for the CIA and the FBI. It’s an old trick. Russia’s Tsar secret service Okrana used to finance most of the ‘terrorist. attacks in Russia ! It’s very useful to justify the salaries these bastards working in the ‘security’ business. In reality the real terrorists in the USA are people like Tchertoff. Remember. To keep his job a policeman, a judge, a lawyer and naturally a godamn politician need ‘vicious and blood thirsty” terrorists.

Has Ben Laden received his pay raise from the CIA this year ? Al CIA-aida and Al-Mossad are quite dead recently. To busy with the evil axis, the other racket.

  6. Marc Authier

    @Stacy

No she looks like the new US supreme court judge. What’s here name again ? A Goldman Sachs puppet and a Mossad puppet at the same time. What’s the name again ? Hey Mike ? Ask here when will Israel nuke Teheran and wipe out 10 million Iranians ? Lovin and peaceful Israel with its 400 nukes. Yeah puke. Shalom my ass to the Mossad. I intend cornering the iodine tablets market and shorting nuke stocks. Look for big put buying and big call buying in oil just before the nuking of Teheran.

  9. WikiLeaks = Out/Crowd-sourced Intelligence Agency?

Intriguing idea, in theory, though obviously that’s not what’s going on because — who’ll read all the analysis/feedback blogged on the internet?

    WikiLeaks = Activist-misdirecting Honey Pot?

    This has more truthiness…

I could easily be a useful idiot for funding/linking to wikileaks — hence my responsibility for vigilance, at least.

“I think they’re going to monetise this operation and start selling stuff on the blackmarket to governments and media – it’s a honeypot. Look at the obvious. The documents are to be trusted, they are not.”

Yes, WL is puppeteering people (the 2+2=5 are easy bait, useful idiots are useful.)

‘If you’re worried about us being visibly captured by by left wingers, don’t. Outside of the US we have the opposite perceptual dilemma. We’re viewed too as close to the CIA and US foreign policy positions and have received a lot of flack over it (see our Wikipedia page, notice the edits from the French IP’s). Inside the US, political english astutes are familiar with the Pentagon papers and can read between the lines. We’ll take our torch to all, and whether it lets in light or lights up flames depends only on the quantity of occluded malevolence left to burn. Wikileaks has concentrated on the most closed governments, since that is where it can be of most assistance. However, we now have substantial leaks from the US involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan. Strategically, WL wants the main stream anti-war movement (upto and including the Democratic Party) to swing in behind it when these documents are released — to steal the issue and with it, its retributive focus.’

  10. Well, so you see that as long as criticism is entertainment, it will make itself suspicious in the shill behavioural catergory. Sorry to see that.

Wikileaks just protects the identity of soures, and they like to prioritize publication of data that has politicial impact. They never aspired to be entertainment, although they will feel protected if the public becomes addicted to the content they channel. Good test is the resistence they get from governments, and I think we are not seeing the ‘ignore them, it will go away’ phase.

It is impossible for WL to judge the truth of their content, but ultimately there should be a relation between teality and the data it generates.

Sad aspect to me is that it makes the virtual world more ocmplex, providing people to wast more time excersizing their risk aversion in ways that does not reduce the risk of extinction and self destruction they actually run..

    America is gone!

Cartons of raw goat and cow milk and blocks of unpasteurized goat cheese were among the groceries seized in the June 30 raid by federal, state and local authorities — the latest salvo in the heated food fight over what people can put in their mouths.

    Raw-food raid highlights a hunger http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-raw-food-raid-20100725,0,7940288,full.story

With no warning one weekday morning, investigators entered an organic grocery with a search warrant and ordered the hemp-clad workers to put down their buckets of mashed coconut cream and to step away from the nuts.

Then, guns drawn, four officers fanned out across Rawesome Foods in Venice. Skirting past the arugula and peering under crates of zucchini, they found the raid’s target inside a walk-in refrigerator: unmarked jugs of raw milk.

“I still can’t believe they took our yogurt,” said Rawesome volunteer Sea J. Jones, a few days after the raid. “There’s a medical marijuana shop a couple miles away, and they’re raiding us because we’re selling raw dairy products?”

  23. @snoot – I only saw one news clip that mentioned ‘oily rain’ and it appeared to just be superstitious locals that saw an oily puddle and feared the worst; your own position sounds an awful lot like those ‘journalists’ reporting for BP; but we can all test the reality for ourselves if we each go to any pet and/or fish store and buy a turtle and buy some fish; then go to any auto shop or walmart, etc and buy some oil and try your own experiment as to the effects on the turtle and fish; try also bathing the eggs of the fish or turtle in oil and see if there are any adverse impact, my guess is that with such experimentation that each of us can try in various climates throughout the world and with a variety of turtles and fish will probably find similar results

    People should be outraged.

  29. @snoot – well your words are here for all to see; and the video I saw re: oily rain was from RT, formerly known as Russia Today, and they talked to locals and it was the locals who said there was oily rain; re: your accusations regarding my statements, please post a link to any of these alleged statements I have made regarding ‘oily rain’ is likely to happen; here is a link to an article with quotes by the BP ‘journalists’ who have a similar opinion to you on the impact of their oil spill would be: http://www.cjr.org/the_audit/bp_journalists_and_their_great.php

    http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/breaking/2010/0728/breaking16.html

State-owned Anglo Irish Bank and Ulster Bank are set to take control of department store Arnotts.
The department store, which employs some 950 people, will come under the joint control of the nationalised Anglo Irish Bank and Ulster Bank

Why are ‘the people of Ireland’ buying department stores when the same time seriously considering selling off state companies???
    http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/breaking/2010/0723/breaking1.html

According to a preliminary list published yesterday by the Department of Finance, the organisations it will cover include all major State companies, such as ESB, Bord Gáis, RTÉ, Iarnród Éireann, Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports, (all owned by Dublin Airport Authority) 10 port companies and Bord na Móna

You’d think they would learn their lesson after the Eircom debacle – …….oh yeah…..corruption.

  32. During the 1970s, John Pilger filmed secretly in Czechoslovakia, then a Stalinist dictatorship. He interviewed members of the dissident group, Charter 77. One of them, the novelist Zdener Urbanek, told John Pilger,
“We are more fortunate than you in the West, in one respect.
We believe nothing of what we read in the newspapers and watch on television, nothing of the official truth. unlike you, we have learned to read between the lines of the media. unlike you, we know that that real truth is always subversive.
” By subversive, he meant that truth comes from the ground up, almost never from the top down. (Vandana Shiva has called this ‘subjugated knowledge’).

And here we are, speculating on whether Wikileak is a intelligence agency influenced site or a government outpost, since the documents do not come from officially sources it cannot possible be true and if it were from official sources then it must have been leaked on purpose, it is a grand design by the government ether way.
Or was it that the documents weren’t released in the correct way? What is the correct way?
How great the media propaganda must be working when we fail to see whistle-blowers or independent sources or anonymous sources as nothing else than a false flag leak by the government or the intelligence community. Stacy, go and sit in the corner and think about what you’ve said on the TAM show. Hrmf.

  33. frances snoot

  36. @snoot – thanks for posting the link to the video as I had only watched two or three seconds previously; now that I have viewed the whole thing, it is far less offensive than I understood it to be based on your analysis; the clip is the viewpoint of a local living in that area, so I am assuming the puddles with sheen look out of the usual to him, i.e., it is not just oil dripping from cars that presumably he would be familiar with if he lives in the area, and so it is a valid story to cover as clearly these locals were concerned about it but they should have spoken to someone who could offer a more scientific explanation; I haven’t seen any scientist, regulator or any other who might be tasked with doing so discredit this man’s concerns; personally, I don’t know whether there is anything in corexit or elements of the oil as parts of it evaporate that could mix with water and come down with the rain, so I won’t comment; I have lived in the South of France before and, after a rain during the siroccos, we had half an inch of red mud on our porch so obviously the rain can carry solids

  37. @All

    REQUEST FOR HELP

I’m challenging the Austrian School orthodoxy on The Daily Bell, and I wondered if you good folks would be kind enough to read over my few postings and check I’m not missing something vital (and thus making a tit of myself).

My aim is to really get a handle on the macroeconomic perspectives I’ve been researching and integrating them into a coherent whole. The perspectives:

    - Steve Keen’s theory of the endogenus credit money system
    - Fred Harrison’s land market boom/bust cycle
    - Austrian School critique of central bank price-fixing
    - Mainstream(?) critique of government herding people into speculation
    - The inflation/deflation debate (though not as far as simflation!)

    The posts with my comments:

DB — Is It a Deflationary Depression?
    http://www.thedailybell.com/1245/Is-It-a-Deflationary-Depression.html

and a little yesterday (not so interesting)

DB — The Spreading Chinese Inflation
    http://www.thedailybell.com/1242/The-Spreading-Chinese-Inflation.html

I am seeking greater clarity on the system as it exists now — not looking to advocate any particular solution (though such foresight of any ‘solution’ might colour my questions and reasonings).

Many thanks for any help and comments.

Line space is newspapers or air-time on the television are dear to someone. Who would pay to print or air mere speculation based on anecdotes or whimsical nuance?

I find offensive the agenda that forwards it’s agency through deceit, Stacy.

  42. @snoot – of course it isn’t but benzene and other constituent parts evaporate, while others presumably dissolve and still others perhaps condense; water, all liquids for that matter, is a good mixer for these various elements to come together

    Gold & Silver – “I Smell Fireworks Ahead” http://harveyorgan.blogspot.com/2010/07/july-272010-commentary.html

Today was options expiry and as always we see raids occurring. What is very strange this month was the huge 2:1 ratio of puts over calls. Normally, the ratio is the reverse, with a 2: 1 ratio of calls over puts. Tonight a massive amount of puts are in the money which means the sellers of those puts ie. the underwriters take possession of gold contracts.

Somebody big is in need of whatever supplies of gold are available at the comex. I smell firworks and the regulators are asleep.

My guess: the holders of the put contracts that are taking delivery, are the bankers themselves trying to get the last amount of gold and silver in their names prior to default.

  44. @snoot – “Who would pay to print or air mere speculation based on anecdotes or whimsical nuance?”

I’m surprised by the question given the context of the story; BP (and, therefore, the Obama administration) had armed private security down there keeping journalists from getting near the spill and the state was threatening felony charges and large fines; in these sort of instances in which the state is preventing the story from getting out, journalists throughout history have had to talk to locals; most recently, for example, we saw this in China when the government tried to prevent journalists from reporting on the event; journalists had to talk to locals about what they were witnessing

I might add that many, many of the biggest corporate crime stories of our time have unfolded via printing or airing anecdotes or whimsical nuance say from mothers certain that the children in the area are coming down with unusual cancers or some farmer noticing funny colored liquid spilling into the river, etc.

  45. The oil spill poisoned more than the water, criminal negligence, bankruptcies, destroyed lives and livelihoods, domestic violence, severe anxiety, trauma, PTSD, drug and alcohol abuse, serious illnesses developing, suicides, massive loss of plant and wildlife, and vast ecological destruction.

More leaks are suspected from a supposed fractured sea floor, the media has turned off the leak for now.

  75. @all and Stacy

    did you catch this one,,

SEC Says New FinReg Law Exempts It From Public Disclosure

    So much for transparency.

Under a little-noticed provision of the recently passed financial-reform legislation, the Securities and Exchange Commission
no longer has to comply with virtually all requests for information releases from the public, including those filed under the Freedom of Information Act.

The law, signed last week by President Obama, exempts the SEC from disclosing records or information derived from “surveillance, risk assessments, or other regulatory and oversight activities.” Given that the SEC is a regulatory body, the provision covers almost every action by the agency, lawyers say. Congress and federal agencies can request information, but the public cannot.

That argument comes despite the President saying that one of the cornerstones of the sweeping new legislation was more transparent financial markets. Indeed, in touting the new law, Obama specifically said it would “increase transparency in financial dealings.”

The SEC cited the new law Tuesday in a FOIA action brought by FOX Business Network. Steven Mintz, founding partner of law firm Mintz & Gold LLC in New York, lamented what he described as “the backroom deal that was cut between Congress and the SEC to keep the SEC’s failures secret. The only losers here are the American public.”

To require all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, to authorize the induction of persons in the uniformed services during wartime to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services, and for other purposes.

    @Stacy
How about Niall Ferguson on one of the shows. In this debate (in the link below), he makes the point, regarding the Chuck Prince quote and ‘keep dancing,’ Ferguson asks, “who was playing the music?” I have read and listened to a lot of Ferguson’s material. An exceptionally clear thinker.

However, if you ever do get him on, you have to challenge him! I have never really seen anyone top him in debate.

  79. @WL,..This clause rings for concern, Re: National Service,..

“(2) the President declares a national emergency, which the President determines necessitates the induction of persons to perform military service, and immediately informs Congress of the reasons for the declaration and the need to induct persons for military service; ”

  82. Seems the draft may create another form of income for the “military machine”.
    No?

“Brussels no longer wants to sign tailor-made agreements with Switzerland, which is being told to align itself on EU rules and regulations.”

…Joe Saluzzi — a prominent critic of HFT — explained the systemic implications of this as follows to FT Alphaville:

It means you can’t trust any valuation. I could have valued a subprime CDO better on May 6 than any equity. And it’s almost the same thing all day long. Valuations and prices have been divorced for a while. Just look at the volatility. It’s not like traditional trading. No wonder there are such increased correlations.

It’s a point also seized upon by Russia Today’s Max Keiser.

(And yes we know he’s slightly unconventional, but he makes a hugely valid point).

  99. @Gold

I had hoped that spot gold would trade sideways until the 34-week EMA, but the drop says that we have now fulfilled the basic requirement for another rally, if you take your analogy from previous moves in the gold price, such as 2009.

I presume that Eurozone central banking interests will be dumping the physical, as its always the central bank plunging the price of gold in the end which seems to coincide with our capitulation move. The Eurozone is bound for lower discount rates and changes to policy, thus I can see why they are attempting to keep gold prices under wraps, with no effect to interest rates whatsoever. But furthermore, I would speculate that negative repo rates or even perhaps a negative discount rate will form a part of the scenario this fall.

    http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=$GOLD&p=W&b=5&g=0&id=p22191914136&a=156853006&listNum=2

The discount rate in the U.S. is so close to bullion lease rates that commercial banking must be pretty nervous about Euro central bank unannounced divestment.

Notwithstanding, you have a surge of material advances in copper, oil and whatnot. I would say that a library full of moribund derivatives contracts gathering dust on the Fed’s books are about to be brought out to trade once again. And to make that feasible, you would need a whole catalogue of agreements in principle in place prior to clearing the books.

    Here’s your truth, F. Beard:

“He had learned well the law of club and fang, and he never forewent an advantage or drew back from a foe he had started on the way to Death. He had lessoned from Spitz, and from the chief fighting dogs of the police and mail, and knew there was no middle course. He must master or be mastered; while to show mercy was a weakness. mercy did not exist in the primordial life. It was misunderstood for fear, and such misunderstandings made for death. Kill or be killed, eat or be eaten, was the law; and this mandate, down out of the depths of Time, he obeyed.”

I am a libertarian; I have no desire to force my personal beliefs on anyone which is totally in accord with my religious beliefs. @MotherEarth:
What separates us from animals? Now here I refer not to domesticated animals, but to wild animals. Is it the ability to be seduced-persuaded by words? In which case, don’t you agree that anything beyond the “law of the club and the fang” is merely rhetoric?

Now we enter a world where force prevails; where justice is not blind; where the capacity to feel is not reenforced by letters.

And so we know truly what it is to be animal in a world ruled by brute force.

The law of nature is force only. Any meakness is rewarded with cruelty: unless the very act of meekness reinforces strength.

We, swayed as we are by rhetoric, look to words for our drink, our mead with bread.

To protest, a few jokesters decided to include all the scariest keywords they could think of at the end of their email on a certain day…in hopes of crashing the system.

But I haven’t heard much about this since then. Anybody know if the US Govt. is reading every email. Have they every said they are not?
