  3. What the F*ck is this?!?! lol. Oh and by the way, thanks for posting the Goldman Sachs the Movie piece, the second I read the title of the article from WSJ, all I could think about was Pirate My Film and you guys, So I figured I’ll post it on maxkeiser.com and hope some one see’s it, and apparently ya found it. :) Max and Stacy, Thanks for being there and doing what you guys do. You guys make this whole collapse and down fall back into feudal times, entertaining and educational all at the same time, thank you.

  4. The Magnanimous Opie J.

Max and Stacy you are awesome. I am so fortunate to have found the Keiser Report. After gathering the morning news from my several trusted news sites (including the Keiser Report) I intended to listen to a little ‘stand-up’ comedy via YouTube since I need to smile this a.m. But since you posted this great song by Pulp, and I was familiar with the William Shatner cover of the song, I thought I would share ‘my find’ with you! :)

  5. Interesting video, it is demeaning but true on how we live. it has a lot of symbolic attributes on how “common people” pretty much waste their lives with all the stupid things we do.

  6. Great track, didnt know you had such good taste as well as a great show.
For Mike/Liverpool and the others who feel it compromises their manhood i offer this as a consolation:

  17. The US decline comparable to Roman decline meme, and the forest of echoing epigones, is tiresome and sloppy. A better comparison would be the meteoric rise and quick decline of Athens from the 6th to 4th Century BCE. The rise after the Greek Allies beat back the Medean(Persian) invasion to the Delian League and collapse into Imperial folly, the campaign against Syracuse(Sicily). A period in which an extended Oligarchy started as a “Democracy” and concentrated to a traitorous few who aligned themselves to the majority’s enemies(Sparta and Persia) in the reign of the “Thirty Tyrants”. Later Philip’s Macedonia bought out a broke and eviscerated Athens with Silver(China?). Socrates was long dead and the Sophists won. Pass the Hemlock. I tend to agree with Aristophanes(in “The Clouds”) that Socrates was the King of the Sophists.

Great to see Shakespeare’s allusion(with great variation) to the Appius Claudius “head and belly” as rulers and the people as its limbs parable from Livy.

US leadership has no heart or head. It leads with the belly.

Finally, I would like to recommend a book about cultural decline.
A novel by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz, a Polish writer/painter, titled “Insatiability”. Despite being written in 1927, it is astonishingly relevant to this period. Hedonism, propaganda, eastern fears, despair and pharmacological oblivion are all depicted with a humorous and worldly reserve in the midst of absolute terror.

Pulp’s best records were “This Is Hardcore” and “We Love Life”(and I dig ‘Different Class”) . Jarvis’ solo stuff is excellent. “Further Complications”, his latest, is a fun listen.

Keep up the good work Max and Stacy.

BP Seeks $10 Billion Tax Break to Cover Spill Expenses

The oil giant BP has revealed it plans to seek a nearly $10 billion tax break to cover losses stemming from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. In its second-quarter earnings report, BP said it would record $32 billion in losses to reflect the future costs of the spill. Under US tax law, companies can take credits on up to 35 percent of their losses. This essentially means US taxpayers will end up paying a third of BP’s expenses from the Gulf oil spill despite vows from the Obama administration that BP would bear the entire cost of cleaning up the spill. On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs would not say whether the President would press BP on the tax break. Gibbs said, “There are tax laws in this country that have been written for quite some time.”

800,000 Gallons of Oil Spill in Michigan

In Michigan, more than 800,000 gallons of oil have leaked into the Tallmadge Creek and Kalamazoo River after the rupture of an underground oil pipe. The spill has been described as one of the worst in the history of the Midwest. The pipeline is owned and operated by the firm Enbridge based in Calgary, Alberta. Meanwhile, another oil spill has been reported in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana. Early on Tuesday, a barge slammed into an abandoned oil well, causing a shower of water, natural gas and oil to spew about 100 feet into the air.

  39. Zamfir Master of the Pan Flute

Stacy – you ought to get Jim Kunstler on the show (uncensored!).

    From Clusterfuck Nation:

“I’m as certain as the day is long that the folks on Wall Street, from the myrmidons in the trading pits to the demigods like John Thain, with his thousand-dollar trash basket, knew that they were trafficking in tainted paper. Many of them deserve to be locked up in the federal penitentiary for years on end, and they probably never will because president Barack Obama lacked the courage to set the dogs of justice after them and now it is too late.”

“It’s harder to tell whether the elected officials and their appointees in sensitive places like the Securities and Exchange Commission and the FBI had a clue as to the scale of misconduct in the financial sector, or if they were bought off plain and simple, or just too stupid to understand what was going on all around them. The term “regulatory capture” provides valuable insight. How could Christopher Cox at the SEC fail to notice the stupendous malfeasance in the mortgage-related securities rackets. Why isn’t he working for fifty cents a day in the laundry of Allenwood Federal Correctional Facility? Why is the grifter of Countrywide mortgage favors, Christopher Dodd, still free to guzzle the fabled bean soup in the Senate lunch room? I could go on in this vein for two hundred pages, but you get the drift.”

  44. In one of Emerson’s lesser known tracts, he talks of the constant tension between the haves and the have nots. The haves live off the “dead labor” of their ancestors entombed in real estate, stocks and the like. The have nots aspire to be the haves, and so they’re not as “conservative”. The haves constantly try to limit the opportunities of ambitious have nots via various laws and such. He said the have nots are simply young haves. What a fucking true and depressing observation.

  54. The young man or whatever he, she, or it, is suppose to be nevertheless appears to me to be suffering from a profound case of terminal queerness and needs to come out of the closet or video mode or where ever else this visual icon was created while its creator goes off for an extended visit to rehabilitation. [I'm quite sure the creator would have a lot to "share"].

One would suppose that this “singer” is suppose to represent the new metro sexual male; and, correspondingly by proxy, all of its vicarious identifications and projections attendant upon, of course, the politically correct, anti male driven B.S. pabulum that one is force fed daily by all homosexuals of various persuasions; all of whom who have their own hidden “issues” and “agendas”.

Perhaps young girls would find such a person attractive since he appears so feminine as not to be a threat. He would not be someone however, who I would want next to me on a battlefield [or anywhere else where he would be expected to do something other than attempt to sing a "song" by singing it a half a tone flat - in my view he would never find his way to Carnegie even if he were a real person irrespective of how much he were to practice - with all due and appropriate apologies to A. R.]

Of course were he a real person he might become the next “Michael Savage”! He would definitely have been someone that a certain “beat” poet would have been attracted!

That said, he and the video define the term “common”!

  63. Here’s a good read for y’all :

Menenius: There was a time when all the body’s members
Rebell’d against the belly; thus accused it:
That only like a gulf it did remain
I’ the midst o’ the body, idle and unactive,
Still cupboarding the viand, never bearing
Like labour with the rest, […]
    The belly answered […]
“True is it, my incorporate friends”, quoth he,
“That I receive the general food at first,
    Which you do live upon; and fit it is;
Because I am the store-house and the shop
Of the whole body: but if you do remember,
I send it through the rivers of your blood,
Even to the court, the heart, to the seat o’ the brain; […]
Menenius: The senators of Rome are this good belly,
And you the mutinous members; […]
    What do you think,
You, the great toe of this assembly?
First Citizen: I the great toe? Why the great toe?
Menenius: For that, being one o’ the lowest, basest, poorest,
Of this most wise rebellion, thou go’st foremost […]
