Wow Stacy,…You’re right, the climate does change LOL : )

  5. OT – can anyone find a clip of Geithner being laughed at in China that actually shows him being laughed at.lots of clips about it but I cant find a clip showing it yet. TIA

  6. @Dedo

They say if you put it in the sun it will grow..Have you tried that?

  7. Capital Henk

    It is hell here.

I’m now going to a shopping center to be out of home and in some air-conditioned area. Hope they have been able to keep the smog out.

  8. @Mother,….LOL,….I’ll try it,..but from looking at your previous picture, it doesn’t seem to have worked for you!
You trying to trick me, you trickster ? : )

  9. “Man, it’s a hot one…like 7 inches from the mid-day sun…,

I hear you whispering the words, that melt everyone, but you stay so cool….”

Photo looks like Chiangmai in February when they burn the rice fields up north.

  10. @Capital Henk – are you in Moscow?

    @Rasta – “it’s smoky in Penticton” . . . from the wildfires around Moscow?

  11. @farang – the photo looks like Beijing to me; of course, I won’t mention why Beijing looks like that . . . .

  15. anyone wanna hear farang’s theory on the evolution of modern man circa 1,000,000 BC to @ 15,000BC? Bwahahahaa, too bad, I am going to bore you to tears anyway…

You might enjoy…..it gets real strange and interesting, but I do have links (real scientific links, not “Rense”) to solid scientific studies and experiments to verify my claims…..how I assemble the info is open for debate, but not the links I cite. Ask me for the links and I will happily supply. These are not 30 second reads.

For instance: everyone read recently about how scientists have isolated and confirmed the existence of Neandertal DNA in modern humans (@3%), except those from Africa? Fact.

The article also told of how Neandertals were likely twice as strong as a modern human. Bones twice as thick.

So farang wonders….then why did I also read an article supposedly confirming (with another DNA study) that “modern” human migrated out of Africa @ 60,000 – 80,000 years ago?

How can Europeans and Asians have Neandertal DNA, Africans DO NOT, but we “descended” from “modern” humans leaving Africa? What is wrong with this picture??? I can tell ya.

How about this: a “fast food” outlet…790,000 years old. Run by supposed “hominids.” Or this: a prominent scientist, an expert in his field, states that hominid remains found in Asia can NOT be made antecedent to hominid remains found in Africa. Read it again if you didn’t catch his meaning.

How about this: DNA studies have discovered FIVE (5) DIFFERENT TYPES OF “MODERN” humans the last 12 months. All in Asia and Europe. Not Neandertal, not “Cro-Magnon, but “other.” Close, very close, but “other.” I say hominids evolved everywhere they spread over 2-3 million years, and evolved RIGHT THERE. Hominids SAILED THE SEAS over 800,000 years ago, fact.

How about this: Way back in the dim memories of time….there emerged a tale of a “wild man” that a “civilized lady” tamed, brought to the city, and made into a “modern” human. This is in the Sumerian tale of Gilgamesh. A “hairy man that ran with animals in the wild” that she tamed. Now, compare to the tale of the super-strong Samson. Another man that is hairy, that is super strong…being tamed by a woman…now where did the fiction writers of the O.T. come up with THAT myth, I wonder?

Now, compare the myth to the science of modern humans having 3% Neandertal DNA. Yes, only 3% NOW, but somewhere back in that dim past, there was a 50/50 mix…… HAD TO BE. And for how long? Were relationships with Neandertal tribes common? For how long? With Erectus? For how long? Did one of the “mixed” human become a powerful warrior king? Would the people strive to keep his “Blood Line” alive through royal marriages? I am speculating…but not too wildly.

Were these the “Giants” (I have link to a Homo ERECTUS find, in Indonesia, that dates as late as 15,000 BC, which means they mingled with so-called “modern humans”, AND the little modern humans labeled “hobbits” found in Indonesia (Flores Island) AND with Neandertals, which supposedly had “descended”…… from Erectus!!!)

“Giants” in the ancient middle eastern texts can also be translated as “Strong man.”

Tell me, any light bulbs go off? Where did the myth of these “Giants” that are “Strong Men” come from? I should mention: the remains of Erectus in Indonesia? 188 cm tall, “human-like” chest and thumb/hand, stood upright and didn’t climb trees and made tools.
I call that a human, don’t know what scientists label him. Erectus is at least 2+ million years old. At least.

Wanna read more, or are you all yawning and rolling your eyes now? I have LINKS to PROVE what I say. And I would really enjoy watching anyone try to invalidate the findings.

Like a good mystery? How about this: In the period that biblical history “experts” tell us the Kingdom of Solomon thrived, there is absolutely no evidence of ANY kingdom, EVER, at ANY TIME, where they allege Solomon’s kingdom was.

However, do these biblical “experts” ever tell their listeners that the region of Philistia, aka Palestine, aka “Israel”, was ALWAYS an INTEGRAL PART of the EGYPTIAN DYNASTIC EMPIRES? ALWAYS.

Which is why you will find a pharaoh named “Amenhotep III” (Amen is Pleased) sitting on the throne of Egypt at this time, and HE built temples galore. HE MINED GOLD. HE had a HUGE NAVY he sent across the WORLD in trading missions. HE had a HUGE harem of over 300 wives. HE was REAL.

    HE WAS “Solomon.” I GUARANTEE.

When you are ready to clear you mind of the crap msm has filled it with, tell farang. I like being the “mind cleaner.” You will earn that yes, there was an “Exodus” from Egypt. Why? Because some foreigners sitting on the throne of Egypt tried to eliminate their TRILOGY of “God(s).” And impose a SINGLE GOD and tore down the temples to Amen.

Egypt worshiped a Resurrection religion. The Hyksos did not.

Pharaoh was the Christ. And somewhere back then (I can tell you when) there was a change of religion, and the Resurrection religion was opened to the masses, not just for the Pharaoh. The masses loved this religion, to this very day.

It is called “Christianity” by the uneducated. Take a look at the texts of Confession the dying Egyptians wrote to be allowed to join their “Father in heaven.” How they had “never hurt anyone, never stole or cheated…”

Look at the obvious Evangelistic worshiping portrayed on Amenhotep III’s tomb. Look at the coffin painting of a smiling, ecstatic person portrayed as a Cross (Ankh, the Cross with a circle on top), his face where the circle usually is, his arms the arms of the cross…..buddy, he is a Christian.

Look at everyone on the temples walls and tomb walls EVERYWHERE, they are ALL carrying crosses frecrissake. LOOK at the goddess Ma’at, the female scribe of Horus, the Reborn Son.

    Ma’at. Scribe of Horus.

    Matt(hew), a scribe of Jesus……

I say those animal headed “gods” you see portrayed, like the jackal-headed Anubis?

This was from the time the evolved hominids of northern Asia, like Siberia, Georgia, Turkey, migrated back down to the Nile Valley area, and introduced wheat cultivation (Gobilki Tepe, 12,000 year old stone temple in Turkey) to the existing hominids already there. @ 10,000 BC.

And, I think suspect *very strongly* that what you are seeing painted on temple walls is when the ancient African Shamans, wearing animal totem displays, met the more evolved hominid religions (I think Gobelki Tepe shows the first astronomical/”astrology” renditions, my humble opinion) coming from Georgia/Siberia/Turkey, and merged into a new culture…the proto-type Egyptians. Yes, the Gobelki Tepe builders, using stone and carving images of animals in the stone, were doing so 7,000 years before the first dynasty in Egypt.

Gobelki Tepe= “Navel (center) of the Universe.”

Zep Tepi: Egyptian Center of the universe.

Pharaoh: Greek word never used in ancient Egypt. Egypt: a Greek word never used in Ancient Egypt. Jesus: a Greek word never used as a name in any imaginary place called “Nazareth.”

Okay, one more: Nebuchadrezzer. The hated Babylonian king that “wiped Jerusalem as a dish.” Well, he had another name. And, even the average Joe knows it. Hint: Nebuchadrezzer attacked the land of Elam, conquered it, and carried back to Babylon the Sun Disk of Marduk to it’s rightful home.

Most historians say that was when Marduk became the prominent god of Babylon. Light bulb go off?

What if I told you “words” matter? Well, let’s see, a king that re-installed/installed a Sun God religion. Who comes to mind? How about if I told you that Ahkenaton’s mother, Queen Tiye, write to the Mittani king named Tushratta, and asked him to support her son: Nib-khu-ruri-ya.

Nabu-ku-durri-user. Now, about the “user” and the “ya”…”user” is Azure is Ezzar, is L’Azuras is Lazarus….the “man” Jesus “brought back for the dead…Osiris. But “Ya” is Yawhew.

Soooo, who did Ahkenaton/Nebuchadrezzer/Nibkhururiya really worship???

YAHWEH. His ONE God. His “Aten.” (Many say Aten is really the symbol of Ahkenaton’s father: Amenhotep III. Amenhotep III was worshiped as a god of agriculture for over 1000 years after his death.

But the fiction writers of the 8th century BC Israel couldn’t have this evil person worshiping YAHWEH!!! So, he became a “User” worshiper instead of a Ya worshiper….ya dig?

“Yahweh O Yahweh, give us our daily bread…” is an EGYPTIAN PRAYER WRITTEN ON TEMPLE WALLS from 1800 BC.

Words matter. Okay, wake up, I’m finished ;<)

  22. Greetings from Moscow
It is tough here. Smog comes and goes. Heat does not seem to bother that much any more as smog does. Many people are wearing masks.
Some embassies have just started to sent their staff home (Canada and Poland)
There are articles in Russian press that say that maybe some ecological weapon was used. I personally doubt it.
Putin and Medvedev are sitting around doing NOTHING.
Here in Moscow we had similar summer in 1972 – high temperatures, fires and smog. The army was mobilized then to quench the fires
Nowadays our government is just waiting for weather to change.

Still confusing climate science for meteorology? Or is this the extreme weather channel? Notice how snoots has left? You know the extreme conservation types have one thing in common with the VRW cters. They all deny the science. However they’re the voices that we hear.

Your left with a population whose reaction buttons are being pressed so much that smell a darker control around those forwarding solutions. What should be a simple development of civilisation is left as stagnation. So now what? You got a final solution Stacey? Or is this just popcorn?

  31. @Fiat – of course you are incapable of seeing that three simple headlines have caused you to launch into an extreme and paranoid rant; but that is how those consumed with guilt or the brainwashed speak

Nah it wasnt the three, it was the iceberg one that decided. But if you want to post extreme weather then sit way lay the reaction then consider yourself obvious.

The current paralysation of the public is caused by the media stacey. Both main and alternative, are you helping or hindering?

    Or dont you care?

  35. Max and Stacy are trying to be players. They are engaging in contextual propaganda, no different than CNBC, FOX or any MSM. They use the same tactics that the media they so accurately criticize use. The more they try, the more foolish they look. Perhaps they have an agenda.

    They have jumped the shark.

    Max or Stacy answer this…

Assume human C02 did not cause climate change

Do you still believe in global redistribution of wealth? (as Max has stated)

  36. @all – yes, @Dedo has provided a very important link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1976_United_Kingdom_heat_wave . . . and scroll down to the 2003 and 2006 UK heatwave under related items;

you will see that 2003 saw the highest recorded temperature for an individual day (but the overall temperatures were not as hot as France and contintental Europe the same year due to the Atlantic cyclone) until 2006 then broke those records again for the hottest July in Britain; but AGAIN . . . I stress as always and ever for any climate data, and you will find this at the NOAA and Nasa Goddard Center, no individual year or season can tell you what the overall trend is; for that you have to look at the charts of a much longer time frame to see the trend and, in the case of climate, you see higher highs as all charts on both co2 levels and temperatures, both surface and sea, demonstrate

on a geological timescale, in a 1000 years time, 1976 and 2010 will probably look as one single line up

to view this phenomena on a chart that might be less emotionally charged with ideology or religion, check out the bull market in gold: http://66.38.218.33/charts/popup/au3650nyb.html There were many months that you could have said, “gold is crashing by 20, 30, 40%! the bull market is over! there is no bull market!” . . . but from a greater distance in time, you see the trend is undeniable

    thanks for the link @Dedo!

  37. @WL – are you having conversations with imaginary friends again?

  38. I’ll take your non response to my question as a YES

Trying to belittle me is a poor tactic…. a weak sidestep

Stacy you lack objectivity, all AGW science is based on correlations, theory and limited computer modeling, poor at that. Currently, there is no way to separate any natural climate factors from human, therefore any and all human influences are speculative. If you were actually objective you would see this.

Most of the measured warming occurred 1900-1940 when C02 was low. 1940-1975 was a cooling period with a higher level of C02…

There is no science that shows C02 causes global warming, now called climate change to capture all climate effects. When AGWers use terms like settled, consensus, deniers and definitive you should know that it is political instead of scientific.

The continued rapid cooling of the earth since WWII is in accord with the increase in global air pollution associated with industrialization, mechanization, urbanization and exploding population.

—Reid Bryson, “Global Ecology; Readings towards a rational strategy for Man”, (1971)

There are ominous signs that the earth’s weather patterns have begun to change dramatically and that these changes may portend a drastic decline in food production—with serious political implications for just about every nation on earth. The drop in food production could begin quite soon… The evidence in support of these predictions has now begun to accumulate so massively that meteorologist are hard-pressed to keep up with it.

    —Newsweek, April 28, (1975)

If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder by the year 2000. … This is about twice what it would take to put us in an ice age.

—Kenneth E.F. Watt on air pollution and global cooling, Earth Day (1970)

  39. @Rasta
True dat, I’m a witness. Last week, the light here (north of Seattle) was tinged a lovely shade of apricot.

    @farang

Holy crapola, farang! That’s an immense amount of very detailed comparative mythology you got going on. Some links to all the things you suggest we look at would help a lot.

Are you saying the modern understanding of the myths of the Levant is greatly distorted? And not randomly so, but deliberately in favor of monotheistic patriarchal war-god worshipers?

This relates to the metastasizing security states. Why are they so obsessed with secrecy?

If significant details of the myths on which are based Israel’s political assertions of exclusive, inextinguishable land claims, are disproved, then what happens to said claims? War becomes murder in that instant.

Absolutely no one must be allowed to challenge the narrative on which is based all their claims to legal defenses. For example, whistle-blowers are now the new enemy.

Last year, Robert Parry reported on new research that casts serious doubts on claims we’ve come to believe in as god-given.

Excerpted from: <a href="http://www.consortiumnews.com/2009/070809.html"Ancient Israeli Myths Deter Peace
    Consortiumnews.com
By Robert Parry (A Special Report)
    July 9, 2009

Normally, such ancient stories might be regarded as harmless tales that some people treasure as part of their Judeo-Christian faiths, except that Netanyahu’s new demand means that these myths now threaten peace in the Middle East and conceivably could push the modern world into more bloody warfare. Therefore, they must be given fresh examination.

Ironically, it was the Nazis’ drive to exterminate European Jews during World War II that is the one pillar founded on historical reality, although some extreme enemies of Israel insist on making Holocaust denial a central feature of their attacks.

Also, some adversaries, like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, have argued that it is unfair to make the Palestinians pay for a crime against humanity committed by the Germans.

Yet, the Holocaust is not in historical dispute. That horrible reality – an industrial-style extermination campaign that also targeted Gypsies, homosexuals and Communists – was proven after the World War II from a multitude of Nazi records, photographs and eyewitness accounts.

It is the tales of Moses from the Torah (or the first five books of the Old Testament) and the legend of the Roman Diaspora that lack serious historical underpinnings.

The Diaspora myth has been addressed in a new book by Israeli historian Shlomo Sand, When and How Was the Jewish People Invented? It debunks the notion that Rome removed the Jewish people en masse from the Holy Land in the First and Second Centuries A.D. and scattered them across Europe.

Instead, most East European Jews appear to be descendents of converts, principally from the Kingdom of the Khazars in eastern Russia, who embraced Judaism in the Eighth Century, A.D. The descendants of the Khazars then were driven from their native lands by invasions and – through migration – created the Jewish populations of Eastern Europe.

Thus, Sand argues, many of today’s Israelis who emigrated from Europe after World War II have little or no genealogical connection to the land. According to Sand, a bitter irony of Israel’s founding may be that it displaced Palestinians who could be the actual descendants of the ancient Israelites, who stayed on the land and eventually converted to Islam.

Other descendants of those ancient Israelites maintained Judaism as a strong presence in the Middle East, both in Palestine and in successful communities from Egypt to Iraq and Iran. These Jews faced few religious pressures until after Israel was founded in 1948, when this new European intrusion into Islamic lands was viewed in the context of the Crusades a millennium ago. [More on Sand’s book below.]

    The Moses Myth

Yet, while questioning the Diaspora myth is a sensitive topic for many Israelis and their supporters around the world, it is even touchier to challenge the Biblical claim that God, through Moses, struck a covenant with the Israelites to conquer the land and possess it for all time.

Because the Torah is sacred to Jews – and to many Christians as the revealed word of God in the Old Testament – it has been dangerous to examine the factual history behind these texts in an objective manner.

For centuries, the Catholic Church and some Protestant faiths persecuted anyone who questioned Moses’s supposed authorship of the chapters even though their internal contradictions and the description of Moses’s death at the end of Deuteronomy made that long-held belief untenable.

As Richard Elliott Friedman recounts in his 1987 book, Who Wrote the Bible?, “Religious opposition to the new investigation (into the traditional belief about Moses’s authorship) persisted during the 19th Century” and didn’t collapse until 1943 when Pope Pius XII “encouraged scholars to pursue knowledge about the biblical writers.”

Modern Biblical scholars now agree that Moses was not the author of the Torah, that the stories were passed down orally from the 14th Century B.C. and were put into writing centuries later. But the legendary figure of Moses has remained almost beyond criticism, not only for many Jews but for people of the Christian and Islamic faiths. (He is treated as a holy messenger in the Koran.)

Many Americans think of Moses as the angry but righteous leader as portrayed by Charlton Heston in the 1956 epic “The Ten Commandments,” or they think of their feel-good Bible studies as children. Yet, many archaeologists believe that the Moses stories were largely made up.

“This is what archaeologists have learned from their excavations in the Land of Israel: the Isrealites were never in Egypt, did not wander in the desert, did not conquer the land in a military campaign and did not pass it on to the 12 tribes of Israel,” summed up Professor Ze’ev Herzog, director of the Institute of Archaeology at Tel Aviv University.

“The many Egyptian documents that we have make no mention of the Israelites’ presence in Egypt and are also silent about the events of the Exodus.”

However, other scholars believe that some Israelites did emigrate to Egypt, suffered in servitude there, and may have been led back to Canaan by Moses or a Moses-like leader.

Nevertheless, because of the powerful influence of the Torah (and the Old Testament), the biblical Moses carries extraordinary religious and historical weight, inspiring Israeli settlers to claim Palestinian lands as rightfully theirs and rallying fundamentalist Christians across the American heartland to embrace whatever actions the Israelis take. [Emphasis added.]

Question: If Moses talked directly to god, does that make every Israeli PM god’s own exclusive real estate agent here on earth?
Answer: Yes, and the US-backed IDF is their collection agency.

Question: If Israel is the Holy Land, does it also have holy water and holy air space?

Answer: If it does, maybe Coca-Cola could bottle and sell it.

Question: If Israel or any other location is the one and only Holy Land, what’s that make of the rest of the cosmos?

    Answer: A living hell.

Is war really the way the world is made to work? Are we really just the toy soldiers or infidels of someone else’s war-god?

Or are we kin, baby, kin?

  44. The bad news is that the North Pole is melting.
The good news is that we may all have beachfront property soon.

A meme so simple a caveman can use it..

You must be referring to the geographic North pole, of course, not the magnetic North Pole which has been drifting due to the magnetic changes caused by the flows and fluctuations within the Earths core. These magnetic field fluctuations impact solar wind effects, ocean temperatures and therefore global climate currents. Mars has no atmosphere due to a cooled core,,

But natural factors affecting climate are not well understood so they are completely dismissed.

Ever wonder why all globalists believe an Manmade climate disaster.

  45. @ “contextual propaganda”AMUSED another one who sets forth to believe they have found that mysterious vantage point of PURE REASON/TRUTH

Subjective utterences…..that is all any of us is capable of…so we go forth in trying out our ideas against other homo sapiens and seeing which one’s work and which one’s are easily discarded…in doing this we garner a plurality/inter subjective understanding of our world

but glad to know that there are those amougst us who can divine TRUTH

and WL you still failed to adress the same question do you favor redistribution of wealth?

or do you try to juggle word meanings like Nozick?

if the answer is no…friendly advice Egotistical anarchism leads no where, Max Stirner was good at smashing things but couldn’t add anything to the project of human self creation

  46. @chArles

I calls em as I sees em. that doesn’t make me any more TRUTHY than anyone else, that is the essence of Democratic discourse. Yes, I do know contextual propaganda when I see it as well as intellectual dishonesty.

    How do you define WEALTH?

  47. “your money your property” is Wealth in this context…that is what I am assuming you mean when you ask others if they believe in global redistribution

  48. The “global redistribution of wealth” statement came from Max, referring to climate debt. This is eco-marxism, not my term. The hypocrisy of Maxs statement is that he hasn’t paid any climate debt on the production of his gold, is he willing to redistribute it voluntarily or by state force..

Money is not wealth.. it is a claim on future labour. Since fiat is backed by nothing, money can expanded with a press of a button. Defacto redistribution through devaluation. Essentially taxation is really entirely unnecessary for anything other than oppression.

What you are really referring to is the product of labour.

To your point, I do believe that society should take care of those that LEGITIMATELY can’t take care of themselves. However, to gain power, dependencies are created and encouraged by governments and elites. Is the internet a right that should be supported by the state? Some are legit, but most are exploitative. So, we all have the right to succeed or fail. Without failure there is no desire to succeed. To allow gov/elites to decide who receives that “redistribution” gives them ultimate power.
A few years ago my wife and I spent a hot summer repairing a mentally disabled fellows home while living in our truck (far from home), that was my choice. That is what I mean when I use the term liberty. To use my labour as I choose not as dictated by the state serving their interests.

  49. Our money and banking system is BASED on distributing purchasing power from all money holders including the poor to banks and borrowers via fractional reserve lending. That is fascism since the banks depend on legal tender laws and other government privileges to carry out their heist. Of course the banks and their supporters will condemn any attempt to reverse the process as socialism when actually it is a rough form of justice.

  50. @ WL ok…I have a better understanding of you and your terminology

“Money is not wealth.. it is a claim on future labour.” I would disagree with this but that is to be expected with my predisposition towards Marx and Ricardo…I view Money as a means to Stored Labor…from sea shells, tally sticks, gold coins to fiat currency

I view interest as a form of “claim on future labor” or a hedge against such a claim being depreciated…but truthfully I think this is more a cheap disagreement (stopped myself from using Semantic..because everything is a discussion of semantics/meaning)

if a society wanted to which is thier will/right…issue currency to facilitate commerce and development they can and do this in place of taxation…with the principle paid back at cost, I

believe still this would necessitate some minimimal form of taxation outside this issuing… just to run basic operation of even this policy

  51. Don’t really know how Marx would have envisioned the current Federal reserve, but IMO it is central planning by manipulating the quantity and the price of money to benefit the political/economic elites. This is NOT free market capitalism but some sort of perverted socialism for the elite class. All these political structures are designed to benefit the elite class enforced by the state. Corporatism, fascism, left, right, the classless utopia is a myth. The push of globalism through the “phony” threat of human induced climate change is just another elitist entrenched power structure which will exploit the labour of the masses. AGWers have given their “TRUTH” over to scientist/political/economic elitist with an agenda. To be a skeptic is to be a realist. As a rat in a maze thinks he is getting somewhere, there is no exit all paths lead to slavery.

I get a kick from the globalist mantra that they are only looking out for the common man, yet promote global depopulation through nearly any means.

  52. “Don’t believe the global warming hoax! That huge ice sheet breaking of off Greenland was really broken off by Al Gore. He musta put some explosives there and blasted it off just like those ones he broke of off Antarctica and all those glaciers he melted with a hair dryer. Remember, Al Gore’s to blame!!! .

    (Cue 2 min. hate film…..)

  53. “As a rat in a maze thinks he is getting somewhere, there is no exit all paths lead to slavery.”-WL

    Reminded me of:

“I’ll be damned if you count me in
As part of your generous hypocrisy collected in a maze”

    Critical Acclaim/Avenged Sevenfold

  54. it is late at night to late to formulate a line by line criticism but will offer a couple of thoughts

Marx and the FED…hard to say…my readings and inference I do believe he would hace opposed the concept of private banking issuing currency…(that is how I see the FED) most Elightenment thinkers believed issuing of currency and regulating its price/value is the sole function of the state…I believed he did support a central banking system controled by the state (democratically controled STATE but Hamiliton supports this) so this puts him in standard Enlightenment company of the industrial variety ) (also the strongest arguements for Free Trade are Marxist in origin) the positvist camp who believed in industrilization/industry in its concept that this is the only method to production that could increase material abundence

as to the current system being GEARED to Socialism….I am sorry not rising to the bait…Socialism is both a political/social quasi economic theory in which its dominant thesis is to maximize equality period…the current STSTEM has no such foundational concerns….I know it is hard to lose faith and when people see their g-ds collapse they hold onto them more and state “WE DIDN’T BELIEVE ENOUGH…OR WE NEVER HAD “REAL” fill in the blank…Capitolism has failed on its faustian bargin…it can no longer off shore its cost and raise the living standerds fast enough so people will overlook the inequality it fosters…sorry its a dying system…the sad thing is Western Libriailism /THE enlightenment project,,,which hitched its wagon to it is going to go down too

as a PostModernist/Nihilist/Anarchist I have taken more than my fair shots at this “PROJECT” but with its removal we as humans haven’t crafted anything that offers as much protection against the murderous aims of each other

I see the BRAZILIZATION of my country….80% dire slum dwellers 15% -19% coutiers and 1% super rich…fuedalism has returned

hate on Marx and his idiotic followers all y’all want to but he got the centrel issue right namely Rich vs Poor…the Libreal project believed that Capitolism was needed to ensure growth to harness material abundence to improve the social condition but hoped in an active democratic participation to control the rougher edges and keep the rich under control…well that is coming down and there is no brakes on em now

and I am sorry WL and any other Libertarian until y’all can present a reasonable answer to how to control privatized power I could care less what any one of you say…SORRY…fuedalism was evil and that is where we are headed

and philosophically Realism and Skeptisism don’t see the world any where near the same…they are almost polar opposites…Skeptics don’t believe one can have a one to one correspondence with the world,,,Realist profess this almost daily

  55. sorry if my comment comes off mean spirited had a bad day please forgive….

  56. @chArles

    no worries

  57. It didn’t melt, it cracked off, and if you stop and think about it,. ice is ALWAYS breaking off the edges of the ice masses. Or did you think space aliens dropped off that iceberg that E.J. ran the Titanic into?

and the above claim is in error. The Earth was much warmer during the Medieval warm period than today.

  58. 6 million dead fish,
    alligators, turtles and dolphins
    floating down Bolivian rivers

    http://www.iceagenow.com/6_million_dead_fish_floating_down_Bolivian_rivers.htm

“The extreme cold front that hit Bolivia in mid-July caused water temperatures to dip below the minimum temperatures river life can tolerate. As a consequence, rivers, lakes, lagoons and fisheries are brimming with decomposing fish and other creatures.

    Unprecedented

“Nothing like this has ever been seen in this magnitude in Bolivia. Inhabitants of riverside communities report the smell is nauseating and can be detected as far as a kilometer away from river banks.

  59. No IceIce in Greenland.

Video presentation on global warming: The 400,000 year ice record from Antartica shows natural 100,000 year cycles of climate change (global warming and cooling), however since the 1850′s the temperature of the planet has increased dramatically. If the ice of Greenland were to melt, sea levels would rise 30 feet.

  61. Marc Authier

Repent ! Repent Stacy ! We are all going to die ! The final judgement is coming ! :) Seriously. These natural ‘tragedies’ are quite common. We should spend more time trying to find a new economic model which would have less billionnaires, trillionnaires and more trains, more bicycles, mores bioligical agriculture, more libraries and less Wal Mart fascist monsters and nazis Pentagons. I don’t believe in the End of the World. I believe in peace, education and culture. Don’t think the Amercan people do. Neither the rest of the world. But there is still a lot of hope, love, invention and spirit. Enough to calm down the satanic forces at work and in power It proves nothing. Nothing.
Floods and forest fires happen. We need just a new civilization and something else than the ‘American dream’. C’est tout !
