this is not to deny that we humans are destroying the planet either, we must not conflate the two issues: yes, we are bringing about catastrophic resource depletion, and I STRONGLY suspect that THIS is the reason behind cap and trade, and why they decided to fudge the scientific information: it doesn’t necessarily mean that we’re not heading for armaggeddon, but it is still not proven that it is humans and not solar activity which is warming the planet. What is beyond doubt is that 90% of us will suffer and 10% will gain, because one thing is for sure: the serious issue of reaping all of our ‘low hanging fruit’ in one/two generations will come back to bite those of us who are not prepared.

Cap and trade has nothing to do with the science of climate change. And it will not happen anyway but serves as a useful tool to keep the people shrieking back and forth to each other; though the worst polluting utilities in Europe have already made billions from the free credits they were given for the pretend European exchange. While we shriek, the link you provided is what I believe governments have in store for real; they will wait for the worst effects to happen because this is what they are, they are disaster capitalists. They have never, ever demonstrated a will to provide free markets and independence to genuinely sophisticated investors; it’s too hard for oligopolies and monarchs to compete and the margins are too thin. They are waiting for disaster to strike and for the desperate people to demand anything; that anything I believe will be these space shields that will reflect some of the heat from the sun; this will be the ultimate monopoly but at least half of the population shows preference for such a feudal toll booth sort of system where going off grid is decidedly NOT an option in this case.

Knowing you guys both have an open mind and a GSOH, how’s this theory:
Cap and Trade has less to do with pollution but more to do with carbon depletion, getting people to use less oil, etc. He who manipulates markets has no qualms about manipulating the weather, thereby killing many birds with one stone: huge dirivative profits; huge insurance profits; political gain through economic instability, ultimate weapon of warfare “sign this or you get an earthquake/flood tonight”…….
I really do not find it beyond the bounds of possibility, especially as Goldman Sachs, who are ‘all over the C&T bill’ are also the US Gvt, who are fighting to keep a dying empire alive…..
…and at the end of the day, everyone says :”well, you can’t do anything about the weather”…..
PS I saw somewhere recently, that the HAARP record for the two hours before the Haiti earthquake have been deleted, and the US Army was just off-shore training for a similar event: what an amazing coincidence!!
