Climate Overthrow, Shadow Income and Suing BP

Stacy Summary:  Eco-eco unrest.  Iceland was the first government to be ousted in the 21st century over the economic collapse; will Pakistan be the first to be overthrown over ecological collapse?

  1. It’s easy to be an armchair pundit about China. Anything one can say about China is both true and untrue.

The Chinese do have money and it’s partly because they dont spend it. They are highly susceptible to groupthink and imitation of one another and imitation of what is perceived at the moment as being good.

Yes there is a housing bubble in China and it is driven by their seemingly insatiable greed and insatiable desire for “face”.

But they also suffered a great deal and they have worked very hard. Communism is basically dead and they are more Capitalist than the Capitalists now.

Regarding a shadow economy, the Chinese do business in cash. Checks are virtually non-existent and polite people dont ask for a legal receipt for most transactions. Most Chinese dont pay any income tax so income tax evasion is hardly a motive. It has always been a mostly cash society.

  2. Here’s a local interview on WWL New Orleans with St. Tammany President Kevin Davis and his reaction to being threatened by a USCG aDMIRAL for refusing to remove oil containment assets.

It appears this man has back bone. Instead of being a FedGov.Inc invertebrate.

  3. Timothy Geithner

It appears they accidentally sealed the hole.

Congratulations to BP! They need all the luck they can get.

  8. Energy Treaties in the news :

I am shocked at the length of the treaty, and its apparent lack of taking into account that the US may be totally worthless in 6 months to 5 years.

I hope Hydro Quebec has escape clauses to allow it to exit the treaty in 6 months if it has to.
