Time for Americans to learn how to read subtitles or to dubbing the films. I really want more diverse films, having had great pleasures watching movies like; Delicatessen (and other Jean-Pierre Jeunet films), Das Leben der Anderen, Die Welle, Zwartboek, Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, El laberinto del fauno, El orfanato, Mr.Nobody and the list can go on and on and on. The quality in the storytelling is far superior to that out of Hollywood, though independent American films do share the spirit (think of The Straight Story for example) also, special effects and other computer mixmacs which are destroying American movies taking the life out of them, European films still got that. When seeing a Korean/Japanese horror movies compared to an American horror movies there is a world class difference, again the Korean Japanese films really scares you but only the added special effects and booming sound in Americans films scare, and that isn’t really a scare ether, everybody gets a bit jumpy when a sudden high volume sound enters the speaker, you can apply it to any settings in any films and get the same reaction. No, I want more Europe and Less American.
