I do have a Canadian friend I know that is trying to flee this US, hopefully so he never has to look on or see the shadow [or any trace] of an American for as long as he lives … so it is an issue of not only not wanting to get involved in the internal affairs of failing empire … but also the need to have some window for the stateless refugees some chance to flee.
However, Americans wanting to kill scores of each other off is totally natural.
You might not know this, but documents were written by the heads of the collapsing Confederacy (post 1862) where there was a planning of a genocide of the black slaves if the South won.
These documents were suppressed, and never published. They are only coming to light post 1980 in dribs and drabs as the civil rights issues are considered resolved. Yet even these document releases may be a future echo.

Problem with Willem Buiter could be that he isn’t willing to adress the root cause of this financial ongoing debacle, namely fraud, sufficiently. The minimum would be a drastic incentive change or the system will suicide itself, it’s build that way. Whitout “Force Majeure” of the “Financial weapons of mutual a self a mass destruction” – The derivative system. Securitisation is a Joke. it doesn’t work if the auditors are in the same business essentially, getting rich quick and leave the hot potato to somebody else – the taxpayers.

The US armed forces are filled with only “Yes Men” — as all intellectuals and nation builders have been purged from the military since 1946.
Given that the US ruling class will have to maintain a total death-grip on absolute power, either as local or regional potentates or as national dictatorial figures … and this cannot be done without total armed forces support.
I don’t see any military coup coming any time soon in the US to fix the problems that have accumulated. These highly probable assumptions are run of the mill, so a lack of a PMF project just seems odd.
