how big is the chance it is still there and has not been used to manipulate

This is interesting. It was an interview given by Bernard Lietaer, the designer of the ECU. He is the impetus for Ron Paul’s ‘competing currency’ idea.

    http://www.nexuspub.com/articles_2003/interview_2003_ja.php

(remember, the global trade monopolists are working to move beyond ‘paper money’ as Greenspan indicated)

“I think it is a useful tool to solve a number of our problems. It makes it possible to truly create a more gentle society.” Bernard Lietaer

Lie-taer…lie-teller…what a name, what an idea, what a European!

btw: Lietaer forgot to include the small bit about the sdr/index, the World Bank Group, ECB-EIB collusion in African colonization, and the new monetary architecture of totalitarian capitalism.

I’m sure Ron Paul remembered, didn’t he?

Even though Lietaer is convincing, his mark is rather telling.

  11. American middle class being destroyed by design. Why do you think they push GMO foods and flouride on Americans??

Odd that here in the Netherlands US Beef and GMO crap is forbidden..

Trying to kill off Americans? mmmmmmmm novel idea. After all which group of people has done more Wars of aggression in last 50 years?

Let’s be audacious. Next month 1,000,000 lost jobs in the USA. Want to beat ?

  21. Marc Authier

Bet and beat. Was minus 500,000 for july by the BLS. Probably already 1,000,000. by the way. Psychopath liars and criminals. Arms of mass destruction employed against ordinaty people by the criminals oligarchs running Wall Street and Washington. Minus 500,000 per month for 12 months make minus 6,000,000. Quite realistic considering the demonic farts runnint the Democrats and the Republicans.

Wow ! Quelle surpirise ! Just kidding.
What’s interesting is that it’s the US Senate that is investigating,

Yes Virginia the Israel lobby really exists and has bought stock and barrel publications like the Atlantic Magazine. So much for the official media and their pseudo-objectivity.

    @Daruka
The truth is that worst enemies od USA are Americans themselves. Americans workring for the Pentagon, the oil industry, Wall Street, the banking complex, the Hollywood complex, the pharmaceutical complex. the insurance complex, The truth for any country is the enemy is mainly the people in power, the ruling class and what certain call ‘elites’. I call the ‘elites’ parasitic maggots. USA has one enemy; itself.

  28. Marc Authier

    @Daruka

Personnally I hope the place will be runned down through the ground. And it will be good if destroys Stephen Harper’s Canada for good. 30% of Americans mostly the retards voting for the Republicans are criminal Nazis shits. There is a little bit of hope for Democrats but NOT with Obama or demonic shit like Clinton. 10.000,000 jobs destroyed will do the trick. The people slaughthered without hesitation 10% of Irak and enjoyed it. Criminals.

  30. Good interview. I note that Max feels Israel is to be abandoned. I come to the same conclusion. I watched the tensions surrounding the Bushehr reactor with interest. I knew Russia was digging it’s heels in, and I knew the Neocons were pushing like mad for an attack. Israel through AIPAC was pulling all the strings to make it happen. It looks pretty much like nothing is going to happen at this point.

Through it all, I was thinking, what is the international Banking Cartel thinking, what would be their position on it (the attack)?

I know the Flash Crash showed the power of the virtual in todays markets, yes, the banking industry can use HFT to ratchet prices up and down, as needed. Stocks are easy to do this way, and commodities too, pretty much. The oil shock of a couple years ago was classic. Artificially raise the price of oil to very high levels, giving rise to $4.00 gasoline in the U.S. Then as consumption falls, and excess oil and refined products ‘build up’ in the supply pipeline, play the short side as oil prices collapsed. By manipulating price, they also manipulate supply and demand. Put another way, as Max says, price discovery is defeated.

What the banking cartel would like less, although they can still play it, is a true one-sided trade caused by a real, as opposed to virtual, scarcity. If the bankers of Wall Street weren’t 100% sure the U.S. Military could keep the straits of Hormuz open after an attack on Iran. I think they would oppose the attack. That closing, if it happened, and couldn’t be reversed, would cause a real scarcity of oil for at least a while, and maybe a long while. As other commodities are sensitive to energy pricers as well, this would make the banking cartels strategies much harder to implement, They could profit from rising prices of oil and other commodities in this scenario, but would have a hard time producing a glut to cause an opposing price collapse. I.e. price discovery would reassert itself, and the bankers control of the pricing system would be diminished.

These guys like disruptions and milk them for all it’s worth, but they only like problems that they themselves create, and disruptions that produce no wild cards for their profit-making processes and formulas..

Short answer, I think they were opposing the attack…

    Just a hypothesis, I could be wrong…

But if I’m right, it means that Israels military ambitions are no longer aligned with the Banking cartel…Oil supplies are to be protected and not disrupted. The peak oil curve and the declining supply curve will be managed as long as possible to allow price manipulation as long as possible. It is in the interests of this cartel to managed the demand side as well, to keep it below the declining supply curve as long as possible.. In that way they keep price discovery from energy for a few years longer…

  38. Each Sunday—as Gaza starves—congregations of freshly showered and scented cultists sit on cushioned seats in air-conditioned churches across America, contemplating whether to have lunch at Hometown Buffet or Red Lobster. They like their church because the pastor wears a Hawaiian shirt and cracks clean jokes with a George Carlin wit. They like the church band because they’re edgy, like the music they used to listen to before they were converted. They close their eyes and raise a hand to the sky (Jesus antenna) phishing for reception from the man upstairs as the Dave Matthews look-alike sings songs of praise and worship. The church is the size of an arena with a large stage and giant screen in the background. On the screen is an image of troops huddled in prayer, which fades into an image of a soldier holding a smiling Arab child, which fades into an image of F-16’s blazing across the sky, which fades into an image of troops on tanks handing out bottled water to a thirsty crowd, which fades into an image of a soldier reading the Bible, which fades into…

We all know these people. They are among our friends, relatives, neighbors and co-workers. They call themselves Judeo-Christians, Millenialists, Dominionists and Evangelicals. They say they worship Christ, but what they really worship…is Israel.

They consider themselves patriotic American’s, but only as long as America stands with Israel. It is for this reason—above all others—that we are engaged in conflicts throughout the Middle East.

Christian support for war is a recent phenomenon and goes contrary to what Christian’s were taught prior to the beginning of the last century. The introduction of the Scofield Reference Bible was the turning point that replaced traditional, Orthodox Christianity with Christian Zionism.

In the late 19th century, the World Zionist movement had set their sights on acquiring land that American Christians referred to as ‘The Holy Land,’ but knew that they would face opposition from obtaining it. Christians of the time considered Jews to be the persecutors of Christ and his disciples, and would never allow a Jewish occupation of Palestine.

To overcome this obstacle, the World Zionists enlisted the help of The Oxford University Press and an old Civil War Veteran and Pastor by the name of Cyrus I. Scofield.

The plan was to change the Christian attitude towards Zionism by creating and promoting a pro-Zionist subculture within Christianity. Scofield’s role was to re-write the King James Version of the Bible by inserting Zionist-friendly notes in the margins, between verses and chapters, and on the bottoms of the pages. He was also used as a front to help promote it to the Christian community, where he was held in high regard. The revised bible was called the Scofield Reference Bible and was given widespread advertisement and promotion. It soon became the best-selling “bible” in America and has remained so for 90 years.

The Scofield Reference Bible sparked the birth of the modern day Christian Zionist movement. It redirected the focus of worship away from Jesus Christ and concentrated it directly upon pro-Zionist politics. Without the support of the American Christian community, Israel would have never come into existence.

Christian Zionists are taught that Jews are the chosen people of God and that mankind is obligated to provide unwavering support to the state of Israel. They believe that if America fails to support Israel in every way, then God will turn his back on them and suffer his wrath.

Christian Zionists will explain away Biblical passages that point to hereditary connections between the true Semitic people and the children of Abraham. Palestinians and Arabs are to be hated, ethnically cleansed and persecuted if it serves the best interests of the Israeli government.

Bible passages in the Old Testament (2 Kings 6:21 –23, 2 Chronicles 28:9-11, Nehemiah 5:7-11, Jeremiah 34:11-17, Amos 2:6-7) that condemn the kinds of human rights violations committed by the Israeli government are either ignored or justified by Christian Zionists. Even liberal Jews, who call Israel their home, are more likely to call out their government on humanitarian issues than the Christian Zionist.

The relationship between Israel and the Christian Zionists is a sick and twisted one to be sure. Each requires the other to die. It’s really nothing more than a murder-suicide pact.

Israel relies on Christian Zionists to sacrifice their money, resources, freedoms and children. They need these things to wage war on their neighbors and expand their empire.

The Christian Zionists rely on Israel to sacrifice 2/3 of their Jewish population in an apocalyptic war in the Middle East. They need these things to hasten the return of Jesus Christ so he can usher them up into Heaven.

Interesting Video…The ‘smoky’ ones are solid fuel, will have generally have shorter range. They look like single stage rockets, similar to Russian Scuds…

  41. Marc Authier

    @Mark Lythle

Scuds propaganda. Old technology and bombastic posturing.

The best arm will be a couple of very big oil tankers near the Hormuz straits and that have been laid with explosive charges. :) Doesn’t take many of these tankers to block everything. Guaranteed 400$ oil prices. That’s the proble with attacking Iran. Iran is not Irak.

  42. @marc

See my long post above, I suspect the banking folks are aware of this too…

Iran, like you say, is not Iraq…

  43. Marc Authier

    @Mark Lytle

Iran’s ultimatle arm ? A booby trapped LNG tanker.

No nukes needed when this mamma explodes in the Hormuz Straits. Iran ain’t Irak you freakin nazis neo-cons. That’s why the bombing won’t happen and if it happens everyone will regret it dearly.

A LNG exploding produces the same energy as a nuke. And a couple of LNG ? I really think that Iran is a trap.

    http://www.dotnews.com/comment.4.29.04html

  44. @ Marc

Yes, my thinking is that the banking cartel will oppose it because it would cause conditions that they couldn’t fully control. I would think, that the U.S. Military would oppose it to the extent they have any sense.

But I know the Neo-Cons through both Bush and Obama have been firing commanders that had any ‘sense’ in order to service their agenda. But if the bankers oppose it, I would think that stops it.

The lower level military that hasn’t been co-opted is probably against it too, for the reasons you site,,,

    My guess, anyway…

  45. Max on gold and no bubble until “…you have an extremely popular ownership of that asset.” Here in eastern europe, they have mall kiosks selling bullion. I consider that almost as popular as beanie babies a few years ago, which ended up having a rather “unstable market.” Once enough of us riff-raff have gold, it’ll be like stars on sneetch bellies…

But everything else, I’ll just take as the Gospel of Max, which I invest a bit more than faith in.

  46. Marc Authier

    @Mark Lytle
Thre is a precedent about the booby traps. I read that all the pipelines and the oil wells in Saudi Arabia are booby trapped also. The Saoud jking has indeed a RED BOTTON that it can press anytime if there is a problem.

  47. Why don’t we just call followers of Max the ’bouton rouge’ movement as they desperately try to push the system’s buttons?

  48. It also occurs to me, that the oil industry might favor an Iran attack. If Iran folded, they might have a chance to drill there, as in Iraq. In the more likely scenario of oil supply disruption, their existing stocks of oil are more valuable.

Paul Craig Roberts, in an interview in July, listed the power centers running the show this way:

“Paul Craig Roberts: In recent years there has been a redistribution of power in the US from government to private. The US now resembles an oligarchy of private interests. The most powerful ones are Wall Street, AIPAC, the military/security complex, the oil industry, agri-business, insurance and pharmaceuticals. These private interests control economic and foreign policy, write the legislation that Congress passes and the President signs, and have achieved the monopolization of the US economy by large-scale commercial organizations.”

So he listed in order, Banking/Wall Street, then AIPAC, then the Military, and then oil. I see, probably in the same order, a no, a yes, a no, and a yes on attacking Iran, based on my assessment of their self interest. The bankers are the most powerful, they’ll call it..

    The interview is here:

    http://thedailybell.com/1220/Paul-Craig-Roberts-on-Glass-Steagall-Free-Trade-and-the-Dangers-of-an-Evolving-Oligarchy-of-Private-Interests.html

  49. @Daruka,

There’s a lot of truth in what you wrote about American Christians. For those who long for Armageddon:

    Amos 5:18-20

  50. @marc

could be…although not sure if that’s directed against anti-government forces in Saudi Arabia, or invaders. The invader they’re worried the most about is Iran? I admit I don’t know the alignments there…. I’m unfamiliar with this…

Are they still leasing those oil tankers for $68,000 per day I wonder ?
( to keep oil offshore until the price rises )

A war ( in Straights of Hormuz ) would give them fantastic ( & immoral of course ) short-term profits .

  56. @mirrormirror

Yes, they could make a lot short term, but my guess is they lose overall control of some systems…see my long post above…I’m borrowing from Max’s ideas here on price discovery issues and how that impacts Geopolitical decision making. Another of those ideas that has to be chewed on slowly to get the full taste,,,

  57. Don’t kid your self guys.

  58. @Gordo

What you say is true, but..Russia has pledged to defend Iran.

That’s the additional wrinkle…and the straits of hormuz being kept open is not assured in any case…

  59. The best arguments are sometimes empirical. Unless something happens in the next 24 hours, before the reactor is loaded, then ‘something’ stopped it…

  60. @Mark Lytle @MirrorMirror – we’ve had Paul Craig Roberts on at least five times; notice, however, that the only Americans out on the street protesting these days are those that want more power handed to the oligarchs

  61. @Mark Lytle

I hope you right about Russia.

I might even pray for it.

  62. MirrorMirror

@Gordo .. Iran is probably stronger than you think.

The Russians support them rather than the US.
China relies on Iran for 30% of it’s oil imports.
S.America is joining this Axis as well.
Basically, all those countries wise enough and big enough to NOT fear a US invasion on “their” homeland have ample armaments as well.

As one guest recently put it, the US wars are the only thing holding the US$’s “value”.

BTW .. tell me about any other country making (major) war against another right now apart from the US ( the North Korean nutcase may not be included ;-)

  63. MirrorMirror

    PS@Gordo … “wise enough”

Forgot to qualify : “wise enough” to understand the geopolitical game .

  64. @stacy

    Sadly, I agree…

  65. @Stacy

I think that the only thing that will hammer the oligarchs, will be other oligarchs, after the ‘crunch’ hits. (However that plays out). As Max said recently, ‘The common people have a lot of heart, and they have, pitchforks’, but they’re no match for the ruling class…

I’ve been made aware that the strangle hold is through the virtual in Finance, you and Max have uncovered this as the kernel that drives everything. Some other folks have hinted at the power of the virtual in the modern world (The movie ‘The Matrix’ cones to mind here) but you guys uncovered the truly powerful way that this works in Finance, and that runs the world, currently. You and Max are offering people the ‘Red pill’ in a sense, and many have taken it.

But in the end, I think some ‘real’ shortage will arise, maybe in oil or food or whatever, that will break the spine of the virtual in the markets, and that will be the moment when more of the masses awake. However they will be in a poor position. I see the power elites in intense competition near the breakdown point. Maybe the people and their pitchforks get a bit role in the drama…

  68. Chinese Inflation To Boost Gold Prices?

…A recent report from Credit Suisse has warned that wage inflation in China is going to put pressure on the profit margins of major Western brands dependent on Chinese manufacturing over the next 12 months.

Over the past decade Chinese manufacturing salaries have risen from $1,000 to $3,900, according to The Daily Telegraph yesterday. But a series of strikes at key factories have sent wage inflation soaring to 25-30 per cent this year.

    @Mark Lytle

Perhaps China and BP would like oil concessions in Iran as well as Iraq, since they were the ones who “won” the US–Iraqi oil lease sale.

Plus, a big nasty dirty war would sure take the heat off of this whole toxic mess int he gulf. Say Max! Where is your buddy the sea capt’n I would say that the gulf is a little bigger fish to fry than a few whales, wouldn’t you?

  84. The Fed this week reinstated its program of purchasing Treasuries in a bid to lower long-term interest rates and support the economic recovery, which has shown signs of weakening.

In 2009, the Fed bought $300 billion Treasuries over a six-month period.

Earlier Thursday, the Fed bought $3.61 billion in Treasuries after it purchased $2.55 billion two days ago.

By selling the Dud loans to the Govt., Denninger is suggesting that the Govt. will be able to foreclose where the banks cannot ( for technical paper-work reasons).

Who’d want to anyway (except non-lesbian women zombies)?

Where are the great free thinkers to reframe the U.S. and put it back up on the community wall? Surely none of the “globalists” looking into their crystal snow globes know the right course of action except to let it crumble in their greedy fat fingers and take what’s left. As the trailer for Shaun of the dead says: “When the dead walk the earth, a hero rises…from his sofa!” In this case, perhaps a few tens of millions will have to rise from their sofa?
