The correct answer is to let government issue fiat that is legal tender for government debts ONLY and let the private sector develop monies for its use.

Just popping in to say hi to y’all. Once again, I’ve lost track of most current/world events. And I won’t lie, sometimes, it’s really nice to do just that. Sure beats knowing WTF is going on all of the time and being depressed more often than not because of it. I go through periods where I’m flat out indignant that people don’t pay attention to what’s going on around them, but I think there’s something to it. My tuning out did not alter anything in any way; had I been paying attention, the results would be the same. And besides, there’s always something new every couple of weeks to be indignant about . . . always some new trumped up corporate media narrative about some new or old thing to be feared or feel anxious about. I can feel my cynicism hardening.
I recently visited the graves of Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass again. It’s extremely humbling to stand beside their headstones. And it’s depressing at the same time to think of all that they stood for and all that they did, and to compare their leadership against these leaderless times. At this point, the only hope I can see for this country is if Obama loses in 2012 and some whack job Republican comes into office and fucks the economy up so much worse that people start rioting and Washington is finally forced to put some sane policies in place. Beyond that, I see no hope . . . just a bunch of distractions: where will KSM’s trial be? Where will the Muslim Community Center be built? It’s all a bunch of horseshit.
Anyway, hope everybody is doing well. Besides Max and Stacy–who have to keep up with the horseshit–I’d just like the rest of you to know that it’s okay to tune out and not pay attention for a couple of weeks at a time. Regain some sanity. Regain some vitality. You won’t miss much except some new flavor of political/corporate spin on some asinine “issue” or another. The majority of you know the game anyway and know that it’s rigged. Sometimes, the best way to get back at the crooked fuckers is just to get off of their playing field and try to enjoy life.

Well, that’s the problem with a government run school system and big government in general; it is vulnerable to being taking over by people with opposing viewpoints. Too bad we don’t consider that it is none of our business how parents educate their own children. So one day the school system might be all Muslim or all Catholic depending on who wins the demographic war.
