I’ve read the actual memo and can say that the summary you linked to is pretty accurate.

The title/headline is a bit misleading, though. There’s no admission that the U.S. government is directing the exportation of terrorism, only a recognition that American citizens have engaged in terrorist acts, presumably by their own choice.

Since the title and not the substance is what everybody is going to focus on initially, we’re going to see a lot of commentary from liberals/progressives that can and will be easily rebutted by referring to the actual substance of the document. As a consequence, this document supports Max’s “WikiLeaks as infowars” thesis as well as the “WikiLeaks is a CIA operation” thesis that the more paranoid commentors have offered.

    I was wrong.

EVERYBODY is going to react to the title of the memo without actually reading it.

The memo says nothing about state-sponsored terrorism. When that’s pointed out, after people have had a chance to rant, it will undermine the assertion that the U.S. is involved in state-sponsored terrorism, i.e., it will make the CIA look better.

    @Marc A … DU … yes, I knew this.

I wouldn’t put it past them (Corporations) to get rid of their nuclear waste that way . Of course, the MSM plays this down.

  33. Exporter of terror? Exporter of freedom i would say. The US saved the entire European continent in WW2, gave the Japanese what they deserved and at the same time saved 90% of their population making the Emperor declare surrender after Hiroshima and Nagasaki instead of having to totally wipe out the nation. They stood up to communism and now they fight the terrible ideology of Islam.

    Land of the free.

  37. MirrorMirror

    @Bronxy …

… it is not as simple as that … read Griffin’s “The Creature from Jekyll Island”, and then Jon Perkin’s “Confessions of an Economic Hitman”.

  38. By the way it’s also killing all the US troops and the NATO Nazis using this garbadge. Marc Authier

And it is a waste of a valuable nuclear fuel too.

  39. WikiLeaks is now poised to be a wholesale distributor of Limited Hangout.

  40. The US saved the entire European continent in WW2, … Bronxy

The Great Depression, which Bernanke admits was caused by the Fed, was a major cause of WWII. Also, US entry into WWI was financed by the Fed and led to Germany’s humiliating defeat which is another cause of WWII.

I’d like to believe the US exports freedom but it is more likely to me that it exports banksterism.

  41. The summary is utterly banal. It has very little to do with ‘finance, markets and scandal’, or ‘rigged market capitalism’.

Not worth the time (or risk) to download the document.

The memo says nothing about state-sponsored terrorism. When that’s pointed out, after people have had a chance to rant, it will undermine the assertion that the U.S. is involved in state-sponsored terrorism, i.e., it will make the CIA look better.

Yes, it all comes from within the US frame of reference for what is ‘export of terrorism’, itself an Owellian construct.

The premise is ”Contrary to common belief…” and the conclusion is the CIA’s. If I cared to base my view on either, I might consider the document significant.

  42. As has been commented I like the naivety of the assumption in the memo that only actions of individual US citizens will give the rest of the world the view that the US is an exporter of terrorism and not the terrorist actions of the State its self. Actions that have been well documented since the 50′s.
The truth is well known to the State that peoples view of the US is an exporter of terrorism is down to it’s polices as internal documents year in year out report e.g The Defense Science Board Task Force Report on Strategic Communication (2004)
“American direct intervention in the Muslim world has paradoxically elevated the stature of and support for radical Islamists, while diminishing support for the United States to single-digits in some Arab states. Muslims “do not hate our freedom,” but rather, they hate our policies.”

As for the political fall out from this, I can see this being used to support the Administration’s polices and further crackdowns by whipping up a media storm over home-grown lone crazies.

    On a passing note…..
‘British spy’ found dead identified as Foreign Office worker
“An MI6 worker whose body was found stuffed into a sports bag in the bath of his London flat was identified locally today as Gareth Williams, a 31-year-old Foreign Office employee.”

  44. Greece’s jog down neoliberalism’s road to serfdom has accelerated to a flat out run.

    http://www.automatedtrader.net/real-time-dow-jones/13456/greece-to-appoint-3-critical-privatization-advisers-_source

ATHENS -(Dow Jones)- Greece will appoint three foreign international banks as advisers Thursday to carry out due diligence and make recommendations about privatizations of banks and potentially state-owned enterprises, a senior person familiar with the matter said.

  45. @F, Beard

USA financed Adolf Hitler and Stalin ! USA finaced Hitler because it was good for the business. They did not save Europe.

They did like with Irak Iran war. Financed Saddam Hussein to attack Iran. And then just as Saddam was winning they used the Isrel broker to rearm iran ! Cynical bastards. That’s the truth.

Anthony Sutton books talk about all these strange financial relations between Wall Street and the Nazis but also with the Bolcheviks.
LIBERTY my ass ! Specually with what is going on in this country. Bush family and Rockerfeller are good examples of the shits running the place. In realuty USA couldn’t care a damn about liberty and freedom.

    http://www.antonysutton.com/

  46. @F. Beard,

“The Great Depression, which Bernanke admits was caused by the Fed, was a major cause of WWII.”

Bernanke is just repeating what he heard from his hero Milton Friedman, who flat out lied when he blamed the Fed for the Great Depression. Friedman pointed to M1 to claim that the Fed tightened monetary policy when the data for M0, which is what the Fed actually controlls, loosened inthe same period. M1 contracted because banks stopped lending and the people stopped keeping their money in banks.

Fisher and Keynes had much better explanation for the Great Depression, and they still ignored that the banksters were the real cause (the Fed exists to be the “government” scapegoat for the actions of rentier bankers).

  47. @Mongo
Also exporter of death and inflation. Goes with the product.

  48. “Exporter of freedom i would say.”

Somebody has been ringing the liberty bell . . .

These aren’t shackles. They’re freedom bracelets!

  49. … and they still ignored that the banksters were the real cause (the Fed exists to be the “government” scapegoat for the actions of rentier bankers). Tao Jonesing

Yep, I never forget that my local banker is in the counterfeiting business. However, the Fed allows the bankers to lever up much more than they could without it.

  50. “Only after repeated high-level British requests and then London’s
support for our bombing of Libya in the 1980s did the US Government crack down on Irish-American support for the IRA.”

Nice little exchange of favours mentioned there. I’d suggest from that sentence alone that the US welcomed the US exported funding of terrorism in UK to then use as a bargaining tool. That ‘Special Relationship’ is certainly very special!

  51. Not only does the U.S. export death through weaponry, we do it in other ways as well….

Losing the arms race with nature….

Most of you have heard that many formerly treatable diseases are now becoming resistant to penicillin and other antibiotics. Versions of TB and Syphilis comes to mind here, and there are others. In a like sense, our ability to fend off parasites to our food crops is also waning. Weeds are becoming resistant to herbicides, and this is forcing the big Agribusiness firms to genetically modify our core food crops to handle high levels of herbicides. These modified food crops are now suspected of being long term threats to the health of the consumers who routinely ingest them. GMO corn has shown a strong capacity to damage the livers and kidneys of lab animals after only 90 days consumption, but everyday, Americans eat vast amounts of it as corn chips, corn flakes and other products. Genetically modified Soybeans have been linked to drops in male fertility, and the list of GM crops is gradually increasing as corporate farmers use ever larger quantities of various poisons to maintain yields.

The point being, in the end, they will have to Genetically modify us in order to allow us to eat all of this crap without dying.

What of collateral damage? Most wars have some of that. How about the honeybees, whose numbers are in rapid decline, and though a fungus and some viruses have been implicated in the decline, there are questions as to why the honeybee populations are succumbing to pathogens that have always been around. Pesticides are being mentioned more and more often as the culprit behind the Bee’s inability to fight off these fatal disorders..

So the future looks grim, for both disease control using antibiotics and for human nutrition, as we gradually poison the food chain with genetically freaky plants we can’t ingest without damage, and then there’s the poor bees, losing the race to survive and losing the ability to help produce much of our food through pollination.

  52. USA financed Adolf Hitler and Stalin ! USA finaced Hitler because it was good for the business. Marc Authier

Yes, I agree. The US is of, by and for bankers.

  53. Here’s an interesting. Why I hate In G,O,D, we trust,

    http://trineday.com/paypal_store/product_pages/Fighting_for_GOD.html

  54. @F. Beard,

“However, the Fed allows the bankers to lever up much more than they could without it.”

I don’t think the Fed has much real control over how much banks lever up. Take a look at Hyman Minsky’s “Stabilizing an Unstable Economy” for an interesting take on how bankers make things unstable by “innovating” to avoid regulatory oversight and rules (e.g., reserve requirements).

And when we didn’t have a central bank and were on a gold standard, we still had episodes of financial crises caused by financed speculation, which should be criminalized.

The Fed exists merely to distract us from understanding who is really to blame. The Fed provides “plausible deniability” for the bankers.

  55. @harry_w

Yes, it all comes from within the US frame of reference for what is ‘export of terrorism’, itself an O[r]wellian construct.

Remember that by any current US definition, Orwell would have been considered a terrorist for fighting in the Spanish Civil War – only depends on which side the US government of the time decides to support.

  56. Irish-American support for the IRA is not the same as US funding.

  57. Babies being implanted chips at birth. Yeah by a US hospital, TODAY

For a lot of people USA is really runned by SATAN. United SATAN of America. I an not a religious maniac but I truly believe Washington is satanic city and the courntry is under the influence of the Devil.

    http://www.theforbiddenknowledge.com/hardtruth/microchips_in_babies.htm

  58. And when we didn’t have a central bank and were on a gold standard, we still had episodes of financial crises caused by financed speculation, which should be criminalized. Tao Jonesing

I am adamantly opposed to a government backed gold standard. Gold is an illusion fostered by the bankers for their own benefit.

  59. I give 50-50 odds the U.S. eventually breaks up. Regional centers form, and issue their own currency…

  60. @Mark Lytle, Re: bees

A bee keeper in the UK was on the news today (not major news but an aside article) who says he’s been able to breed bees that have overcome the virus! They have developed behaviour where they clean each other of the mite that carries the virus (incidentally, it’s not actually the virus that kills them supposedly – the virus takes up enough of their immune system’s resources that they succumb to ordinary bee illnesses).

How did he do it? He left them alone – stopped using all chemicals including even the virus vaccine and they developed their own behavioural patterns to combat it.

Darwinism in full force there! A while down the line when the virus is forgotten, people will be wondering why bees exhibit this strange behaviour.. and creationists will be saying it is by god’s design because their dull brains cannot imagine any other reason how this could be!

Has Bronxy had her(?) brain in the brain-washing machine for too long?

  61. @Mark

yeah its true, but Satan is not a bad guy when you get to know him and he pays for medical and dental and even daycare.

  62. @Nat

Good to hear that, the bee thing has been scary…

  66. .. and creationists will be saying it is by god’s design because their dull brains cannot imagine any other reason how this could be! Nat

I have quite a good imagination or did when I was making my mind up about the existence of a Creator. Life does change and adapt but random mutation and natural selection is not adequate to explain the changes. Also, a great deal of flexibility appears to be built into our genome. Where did that come from?

  67. Illinois Brandon

    @MarkLytle
I agree on the possible breakup of the US or maybe a return to a confederation type model like we had from 1776-1789. We do the deep South and New England have in common? not much really when you think about. I wonder if the Latinos will stake their claims to the Southwest or large parts of it?

Terror sells anf besides that it will be more easy to process all these people in the concentration camps. How’s that for nice news coming out of United Satan of America. As usual Always the same usual satanic shit working for the Pentagon.

  69. @Illinois

    Yep, that’s how I see it too…

  70. @Bronxy

Irish-American support for the IRA is not the same as US funding.

No-one here has said it is. Turning a blind eye to it and then using it as currency in negotiation could be considered by any reasonable person as condoning it, or at least as good as condoning it.

Certainly, as applied to citizens of the US and UK, being in full knowledge of this funding of terrorism and failing to do anything to stop it is a crime under current terrorism laws – people have been jailed in the UK for it.

It’s more (and some ways less) then Darwinism and is also involved in non-Biologic systems.

the US govt is corrupt but releasing these documents may allow targeting of locals who are mentioned in reports. also, it gives foreign powers a deep inner journal that reflects the entire us military, so basically, the entire us military structure is exposed, if one reads between the lines, it’s downplayed in the us media, but every intelligence agency in the world is micro analyzing those documents to unravel us methods, etc..

maybe it will help put an end to wars of this type.. like the pentagon papers did. the fact that major govt spokespeople went on the news and repeatedly said ‘nothing new’ means those docs have huge value.. or the schills wouldn’t be out downplaying it.

thanks for the economic insights etc..

  78. Self-organization is insufficient to explain the origin of life. This issue was dealt with years ago. Dr. Hugh Ross at http://www.reasons.org could explain it to you.

  79. The US also funded the Serbian war with Bosnia in the early 90′s. Kissenger went on Charlie Rose’s show and talked/bragged about his part in funding the conflict. Also know as the “Clinton Debacle”.

Nobody knows that. It’s all opinion.

Either point of view could be right.

  81. @Nat
Does Bono that prick has something to say about unemployment in Ireland ?

U2 name comes from the unemployment form you have to fill in Ireland when you are unemployed. These Russian leaders are just plain dumb. and totally lack imagination. Always borrowing foreign models and fashions from other countries instead of thinking about Russia and its problems. I am no fan of the Kremlin gang. How unoriginal and uninspiring. Not surprised.

  82. @F. Beard

Life does change and adapt but random mutation and natural selection is not adequate to explain the changes. Also, a great deal of flexibility appears to be built into our genome. Where did that come from?

Life without a creator, with just sets of simple patterns and chaos and millions of years of time and change is so amazing and beautiful and complex.

As many people’s imaginations fail them, their ego’s take solace in simpler ideas that they can feel on top of. I’m not saying I have a deep, extensive imagination any more so than anyone else but I am happy for that lack of understanding to wash over me without a finalised solution. That in itself allows my imagination to deepen as my mind is open to each new amazing bit of information I absorb, even if it contradicts a previous idea – a new idea forms that begins to combine the two. For me, to stop at one concrete idea of how life is is almost to admit defeat, to think that your imagination could cope with any more.

Perhaps the mistake people make when contemplating the meaning of life, making sense of it all, is not in the final conclusion they arrive at but to arrive at any conclusion at all!

  83. @Awho
Kissinger can’t travel in most South American countries. He is considered a criminal against humnanity and would be arrested for mass murder The guy is godamn nazi. By the way his german accent is bullshit. The guy comes from Younkers. But he’s a Nazi and a war criminal.

  84. @Nat,

I believe Life did arise out of chaos. It just turns out that this universe is too young (14 billion years) and/or too small for it for it to have originated here.

  89. The American Wehrmacht needs all the support it can get on the Ostfront. Paddy

Yes, America has caught the “uber alles” disease. I once had it myself till I wised up and saw the US had not enough moral superiority to allow it to impose its ways on others.

  90. Good morning Stacy.

  91. @ F. Beard

“You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, and My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me. Isaiah 43:10

    Well, I stand corrected..

If only I’d read what this Mr Isaiah wrote a few hundred years ago instead of spending time taking interest in recent discoveries of how similar the lives our ancestors were a million years before Mr Isaiah even put pen to paper, a million years before any reference to Christian gods appear in human records.

Incidentally, does Mr Isaiah list any references in his writings? How good is his source material? I’m presuming he states this is a factual account he is writing of in the first place? And I presume this is a direct and accurate translation from an original text rather than something that has been re-written and re-written from a re-written translation of yet another re-written text? I also presume there is some kind of background given on Mr Isaiah – any political influences or on anyone’s payroll?

A million years is a looong time – more than really our imaginations can cope with as it’s too far beyond our personal experiences. Religious teachings on the other hand are all, in all faiths, quite graspable and neatly within realms of personal experiences or extrapolations thereof. Funny that! – they all give off a stench of being created by humans themselves. Christianity, as any other, unsurprisingly toke many ideas from the surrounding cultures of where it arose and remains very different from religions and cultures from other parts of the world where it couldn’t be influenced from. Then, when it spread via Empires and wars and trade etc it evolved, changed, and absorbed ideas and influence of the new cultures it met. Again, this process mirrors the evolution of other areas of human culture.

Religions are the creations of humans – they are like gazing into the navel of human culture instead of outwardly looking in wonder at what is outside of our collective realm. That’s where in my opinion they stifle imagination or are safe havens for those who self-limit their own.

They have some good points too of course.

  92. Chaa.. dont’ know why I wrote that last post – please ignore it everyone!

I can feel myself rambling and going off on one – must be bedtime!

  93. The US of A was founded (stolen) by terrorist and nothing has changed. Opium and the slave trade was big business. All that money gave the psychopaths a head start in creating chaos in everything they touched. The little guy never knew what hit him. Drugs and money laundering (banking) set the stage. Secret societies established or controlled every system of our government. All has been corrupted. Time for a totally new system.

  94. (in short: Wikileaks is a blatant psy-op for fools)

Yep Tarpley see it that way as well. Lets see if that wiki guy lives – I think he will. I think the Andrew Maguire one was bollocks as well, but very effective – GATA posted in detail how to make a mint on siliver every month and therefore get the Govts job done – brilliant. Ted Butler rants and ravers about JP Morgan and nothing – why its working, for now. But lets see come Friday. QE2 ?

  95. Marc Authier

    @Paddy
Bronxy works for Hitlerian Homeland Security. Looking for these mean dirty Arrrrrraaaaaaab Taliban teeeeerrrrrrrrarists. Hey Bronxy. It’s your lovin government that blew up the World Trade Center and blew up the Pentagon. Can’t still fing the plave that hit the Pentagon. All vaporized and melted. A first in world history.

  96. Marc Authier

    @Paddy
Bronxy works for Homeland Security. We are all nut case. Don’t know is crazier ? Can’t wait to see the ‘Enemy belligerent act’ being implemented. That way Bronxy will be able to fill all these empty FEMA camps. Bronxy lives in the Bronx ? The is cool film about the Bronx. It’s called ‘The Siege’ wuth Bruce Willis. Psychotic USA.

  97. @Marc Authier Yeah, He definitely is a criminal and a mass murderer. I could definitely see the South American Countries not wanting him there, seeing as I’m sure he was partial (if not completely) responsible for the ‘Banana Republic’ down there. It’s crazy though, how he and the Clinton Administration sent fundings to the CIA to then spend that money on ‘training’ and radicalizing Polish and Slovak ‘soldiers’ to help the US take out that entire region and over throw the countries in that region. The Clinton Debacle was also one of the US’s most expensive ‘short wars’. It was also what led to Russia Joining NATO, seeing as NATO was created to protect North America from Russia during the cold war, it’s sort of odd for them to suddenly join NATO, but I guess the US decided to use them as ‘help’ with fighting off the last of the Balkans in that region.

  98. Assange would have been dead meat or disappeared long ago ……..

    He is a plant

  99. It seems to me that this is another accidental leak on purpose. This report states nothing that we didn’t allready know (a trademark of Wiki leaks scoops), but still has the potential to influence policy making.

    Much ado about nothing.

I still don’t trust Wiki leaks.

  100. Reminds of the GLADIO Network. CIA ancestor of Al-CIA-aida. Same godamn USA Nazi shit.

Use Italian mafiosos and macaronis Mussolini fascists to murder hundrends of innocent Italians and blame it on the Red Brigades and the italien communists. On 911 they did on thousands of innocent US citizens. It’s more and more clear. I could just vomit on the CIA when I know this and most assholes don’t even care and still believe in the official version,

This was done in Italy, not a south american banana republic. Imagine what they did in Chili and Argentina ? Or in Congo ? Yeah well we know. Finally USA is a lot like Stalin’s Russia. The ends justify the means.

    Red terror is USA runned.

  101. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6703838290529161821#docid=3409375633223151728

Paet 2 And then you have the ‘RED’ Terriorism. Replace it today by Al-CIA-aida and you get the same godamn racket. The Soviets are gone. The CIA and all the parasites had to replace it by a new enemy.

The state within the state. It’s old news. And it’s getting worse by the day.
Specially with third world war looming. USA is the best when it comes to training terrorists. Old news indeed.

  103. Increasingly it looks like Wikileaks is merely a creation of rogue elements in the NSA who just don’t like the status quo. This might explain almost complete lack of 9/11 evidence.

  104. @ Stacy

What’s the “scandal”? That’s the CIA recognises US hypocrisy regarding it’s own Orwellian concept about the ‘export of terrorism’?

And this is “contrary to popular belief”, and based on long known examples often raised in debate with Americans anyway.

    It’s a non-story really.

The political logic of any ‘scandal’ implied (if one accepts the premises implicit in the document), is for more stringent surveillance of US citizens suspected of ‘exporting terrorism’ in ways analogous to the examples given in the document.

  105. You want global warming look at HAARP. Melt an iceberg. No problem. Would the globalist do it? YES!!

I read and hear that the globe is cooling.
