I’ve spent a lot of time reading about and trying to get prepared for ‘anything’ that might happen; gold, silver, ammo, food,… I even have a manual desalination unit (I live 2 miles from the ocean). But it’s futile – one can never prepare for every outcome. The best thing a person can do is educate friends, family and neighbors so that if a community or neighborhood cooperates, one family may have extra toilet paper while the other family may have extra canned beans. We are not going to make it on our own; we are going to have to cooperate and work together after a re-boot.
Another way a person will be able to contribute is by having extra skills in (for example) neighborhood farming, tanning, candle making, bee keeping, mechanics, carpentry, etc. In other words, we all need to have additional skills. Something technically strange in the markets the last week or so is the lack of good setups for trades. Most conventional indicators are contradicting each other. I’m not sure what you’re saying. We have declining demographics. Our populations are getting older because of falling birth rates. That makes us less productive in the economic sense. It means tax receipts are falling everywhere, so I have no idea what you’re getting at..It’s not something you can wave a magic wand and fix.

Notice that verse 21 commands against delaying payments to the Lord. Might this not be an implicit condemnation of fractional reserve banking since bank liabilities are on demand but assets are not?
The British working class may be in a cage. A modern day gin row for some. In a fat stupor. Fed on bread and circuses and stella and x factor (and maybe some homegrown). But we are common and we are burly, beware. Up to now we have had just about enough to live on that we haven’t had to think. Shame on us. Banging the drum was Thatcher, our economy wavered as imports were at a better price than buying local. At the time so much was owned collectively by the nation but she got us to sell it all off. She found a chink in the armour flogging council houses and enough of the working class saw their ticket. She got the consensus to believe the unions were ruining the country and that nationalized industries were inefficient (when we can produce surplus perhaps a little inefficiency ain’t so bad?) and privatisation would be cheaper. She got us to believe in buying shares but not in sharing.
Now we find perhaps the only efficiency we ever had was in selling off the family silver.
But I have a problem. I am not so left or right wing I want either a communist revolution or a nationalist rise to power. If we are heading downwards I expect the common mass to start to mobilize and I expect there are enough ‘intellectuals’ wishing to show them the way. I do believe we should expect to have a greater control of our enviroment and with the UK as a single language island (to the most part; my apologises to the Celtic fringe) that we somehow should have a collectivism in controlling the infrastructure. British Rail , British this that etc. Yet if some of this might make sense how easily will others take it further? If we hadn’t put our shirt on banking we might have escaped the ridiculous rent levels which makes setting up a small business difficult (whilst the amount of empty commercial real estate is kept locked up – rather than be marked to market).
Now I could admire the French level of collectivism though I see they aren’t immune to a degree of nationalism.
How can the middle class be persuaded in the UK to take a hair cut on their property prices? They are a group that can lock their doors at the first hint of trouble. Isolationists for their kids sake (the usual defense). Now when I was late teens, early twenties I thought the middle class adversion to getting into serious romantic relationships with working class was a bad thing. It worked both ways no doubt but they perceived the it more so as a fate worth than death. This I thought was devisive and I see something similar in how faith based arrangements perpetuate fracture zones between communities. Multiculturism in good times is hardly an issue but in bad times history repeats itself. Recipes for scapegoating and internecine warfare. I kind of think true integration occurs when it produces children.
Let the people in control of the broadcast consensus, the media, the managers (think how human resources demands a certain Speak at interviews), the moral highgrounders, the politicians, THE MIDDLE CLASS, the teachers and beaucrats. Let them court us the working class, not shun us and we may, just may, let you back in the fold.

I’m not sure about the middle class Max, all i’ve seen that they have achieved over the last 30 years is a successfull co-opting of their own language so no-one actually knows what they are talking about and what they are even thinking with the interesting by product of having disenfranchised the working class from all participation in modern culture apart from the aping of pond life celebrities. As i see it the cynicism of the middle class in pursuit of their careers over the last 30 years has led to a cultural dead end and i’m not sure if the middle class are capable of even seeing this. The only activity they are now capable of is producing babies and giving them designer names so i think really a cultural seismic shift is required for something to happen. Or mass destitution.

Let’s say it’s upper middle class. I don’t consider a person having 5 or 10 million dollars of assets being part of Goldman Sachs gang. A small business entrepreneur with real skin in the game, with a couple of millions in the game, is not a rich dude. My foray into the social sciences was entirely unexpected and has expanded far beyond what I could have imagined, but you keep forcing the inquiry wider with references to people like Max Weber, who until now I did not have much interest in reading.
What the middle class does will largely turn on how deep and long the current economic depression goes. And how much more “in your face” and out in the open the Wall Street banksters get with their criminal actions for which nobody goes to jail. (Crime apparently does pay, and quite handsomely.)

I disagree. One of the subjects that seem to bother Max a lot is the cultural aspect of the current state of affairs and its corrupting element. I can understand why you’d reach that conclusion, and you may be right.
That being said, I don’t think that ridiculing the American people necessarily indicates a lack of empathy for them. Empathy can lead to frustration and disappointment, which can be manifested as derision that creates emotional distance.

I can clearly see that when the bond bubble breaks, in the not to distant future, the unrest in the U.S. will grow dramatically. The middle class certainly has been conditioned to be servile, but that does not mean that they will remain so. I’ve found that members of the middle class are by far the most judgmental when it comes to the poor. I’ve always thought that this hostility came from a deep-seated understanding that they themselves were not that far away from being poor themselves, that they subconciously knew that a couple of bad breaks here or there, and they would be joining the welfare ranks (the dole). Hating the poor is a form of self-affirmation for the middle class.
Middle class servility is based on the belief that all you have to do to stay in the middle class is play fair and by the rules. Unfortunately, the game has changed, and people who have played by the rules find themselves sliding into poverty, or they know somebody who is. I’m not a lawyer and couldn’t argue the case but many crimes against humanity have been committed against populations for purposes of usery, wealth hoarding, and power. Do you realize that the monopoly on violence is now in the hands of corporations and other businesses in the US? If someone else can use violence to improve their wealth and power, perhaps alongside but more likely completely detached from any contract of equal justice amongst the citizens, then why couldn’t you? The initiative to realign public interest and the role of justice can only come from the public, other parties are profiting from the current assymetry.
I talked to a student when I got stuck in the south of france because of a railway strike. He was complaining about it. I told him he should be happy someone was acting up, and that it was a small price to pay for the reassertion of real interdependencies within society. Strikes that ripple through the lives of others put it in their faces that they have a choice to show solidarity. If all rail strikes where banned (because of the economical impact), you would never know who was suffering or neglected.
Just like my project Self defence agains extinction, one could start a project called ‘Self defence about corporate occupation’, saying that this occupation is an ongoing threat to the lives of individuals, who having no other recourse could panic for their lives and strike against it. That is defendable. What do you do if you need medicine to keep yourself alive and you see corrupting corporate lobbyist threaten you only source of income?

Why aren’t the citizens rising up, seriously? An episode with a sociologist might be worth considering. Thoughts on Getting Prepared:
I’ve spent a lot of time reading about and trying to get prepared for ‘anything’ that might happen; gold, silver, ammo, food,… I even have a manual desalination unit (I live 2 miles from the ocean). But it’s futile – one can never prepare for every outcome. The best thing a person can do is educate friends, family and neighbors so that if a community or neighborhood cooperates, one family may have extra toilet paper while the other family may have extra canned beans. We are not going to make it on our own; we are going to have to cooperate and work together after a re-boot.
Another way a person will be able to contribute is by having extra skills in (for example) neighborhood farming, tanning, candle making, bee keeping, mechanics, carpentry, etc. In other words, we all need to have additional skills. Learn more, educate those in your circles and pass along the Max Keiser info/videos. I’m not trying to make a necklace from pearls (but if I were I prefer Faulkner’s version) but wondering why Faulkner left “let there” out of his “be light”. Brackets indicate the absence of operations outside the internal dialogue [within the brackets]. If I bracket you, I separate you from the originary narrative and the constructs. You are right to point out the “I” am hindered in doing so by my inability to bracket myself.
But I wonder if the absence of brackets indicates the presence of chains: relegated to the chained behavior of slaves or humans operating under literary digress of ‘the polished and enlightened’. In which case: I applaud the idea of post-structural dialogue for tabling that which now seems to be force-fed the public through what you term binary channels.

I can normally scalp a few percent every couple of weeks. I am out of the markets now, there doesn’t seem to be nya real definable trend and there are very few indicator correlations.

I see lots of extended families (Anglo) here in Texas, by necessity mostly, sharing living space. I ran into a women, here at the supermarket, supporting 11 people in her house. These are all family members who have essentially become homeless. Some have reacquired employment at lower wages, and contribute. Watch this become a major trend.

I’m not sure what you’re saying. We have declining demographics. Our populations are getting older because of falling birth rates. That makes us less productive in the economic sense. It means tax receipts are falling everywhere, so I have no idea what you’re getting at..It’s not something you can wave a magic wand and fix.
Further we need the world population to decline, naturally. Beard thinks the Bankers are causing this decline and they should be eliminated to ‘reverse it’ I’m not thinking that’s desirable anyway. Plus I think it’s a natural process that can’t be reversed for lots of reasons…

The British working class may be in a cage. A modern day gin row for some. In a fat stupor. Fed on bread and circuses and stella and x factor (and maybe some homegrown). But we are common and we are burly, beware. Up to now we have had just about enough to live on that we haven’t had to think. Shame on us. It isn’t that we don’t know it is just that we don’t spend the time thinking about it!
And then there’s the middle class to which I would include doctors, lawyers, teachers and the media. And of course the rank and file of middle managers. So many who nodded to the beat. Of which the teachers I thought could be the most hypocritical.
Banging the drum was Thatcher, our economy wavered as imports were at a better price than buying local. At the time so much was owned collectively by the nation but she got us to sell it all off. She found a chink in the armour flogging council houses and enough of the working class saw their ticket. She got the consensus to believe the unions were ruining the country and that nationalized industries were inefficient (when we can produce surplus perhaps a little inefficiency ain’t so bad?) and privatisation would be cheaper. She got us to believe in buying shares but not in sharing.
Now we find perhaps the only efficiency we ever had was in selling off the family silver.
But I have a problem. I am not so left or right wing I want either a communist revolution or a nationalist rise to power. If we are heading downwards I expect the common mass to start to mobilize and I expect there are enough ‘intellectuals’ wishing to show them the way. I do believe we should expect to have a greater control of our enviroment and with the UK as a single language island (to the most part; my apologises to the Celtic fringe) that we somehow should have a collectivism in controlling the infrastructure. British Rail , British this that etc. Yet if some of this might make sense how easily will others take it further? If we hadn’t put our shirt on banking we might have escaped the ridiculous rent levels which makes setting up a small business difficult (whilst the amount of empty commercial real estate is kept locked up – rather than be marked to market).
Now I could admire the French level of collectivism though I see they aren’t immune to a degree of nationalism.
How can the middle class be persuaded in the UK to take a hair cut on their property prices? They are a group that can lock their doors at the first hint of trouble. Isolationists for their kids sake (the usual defense). Now when I was late teens, early twenties I thought the middle class adversion to getting into serious romantic relationships with working class was a bad thing. It worked both ways no doubt but they perceived the it more so as a fate worth than death. This I thought was devisive and I see something similar in how faith based arrangements perpetuate fracture zones between communities. Multiculturism in good times is hardly an issue but in bad times history repeats itself. Recipes for scapegoating and internecine warfare. I kind of think true integration occurs when it produces children.
Let the people in control of the broadcast consensus, the media, the managers (think how human resources demands a certain Speak at interviews), the moral highgrounders, the politicians, THE MIDDLE CLASS, the teachers and beaucrats. Let them court us the working class, not shun us and we may, just may, let you back in the fold.

A lot of these things can’t be worked out by some agreement between people. In fact, only point number (2) above could be resolved in this way. And that would be difficult at best.

But I would disagree, it is only when the masses take to the field that any impetus for structural change can occur. then yes a section of the middle classes usually breaks off seeing that they can better protect their interests with the poeple rather than the aristocracy/oligarchy. Actually, we had all of the same problems before the Fed was formed to provide a government scapegoat for the banksters’ misdeeds. While the Fed as constituted is a major problem (mainly in how it is killing savers), it is more than a major distraction from other, more pressing problems that are pushing us towards neo-feudalism. The Fed is just one tool for accomplishing that.

My feeling is that the Rothchild’s and others like that won’t be able to control the breakdown past a certain point. This is the largest empire in history and it’s going down, hard. I think it will shred. Those globalists have the resources to out wait the rest of us, but anything proactive they want to do for their own self interest will probably also be ‘pushing on a string’ at some point.
The real problem is that if you push one set of jackasses over, another takes it’s place later. I think the global system unwinds chaotically, and some current elites go away with it. Others will arise, later, totally different.

We also have not been educated in this country. Schools are there to make sure children become useful cogs, controlled and dumbed down.

I disagree. One of the subjects that seem to bother Max a lot is the cultural aspect of the current state of affairs and its corrupting element. I can understand why you’d reach that conclusion, and you may be right.
That being said, I don’t think that ridiculing the American people necessarily indicates a lack of empathy for them. Empathy can lead to frustration and disappointment, which can be manifested as derision that creates emotional distance.
But I don’t know what’s in Max’s mind (other than he is long gold).

I can clearly see that when the bond bubble breaks, in the not to distant future, the unrest in the U.S. will grow dramatically. The poor and the middle class will be limited in their response by the poor financial position many are in. The job base will collapse fast, post bubble. Personal resources will be tight, will spending money on gas to a rally in D.C. seem cost effective at that time?
The power structure is nebulous. I think of that frustrated guy that flew his plane into the IRS office. He wanted to hit something, but he ended up killing people not much higher up the tree than he was.

The middle class certainly has been conditioned to be servile, but that does not mean that they will remain so. I’ve found that members of the middle class are by far the most judgmental when it comes to the poor. I’ve always thought that this hostility came from a deep-seated understanding that they themselves were not that far away from being poor themselves, that they subconciously knew that a couple of bad breaks here or there, and they would be joining the welfare ranks (the dole). Hating the poor is a form of self-affirmation for the middle class.
Middle class servility is based on the belief that all you have to do to stay in the middle class is play fair and by the rules. Unfortunately, the game has changed, and people who have played by the rules find themselves sliding into poverty, or they know somebody who is. This is causing a lot of consternation among the middle class, and for now they’re content to cast blame for their plight according to their existing biases, but they’ll eventually figure out the real cause when they start looking up the socio-economic ladder instead of down it.

I’m not a lawyer and couldn’t argue the case but many crimes against humanity have been committed against populations for purposes of usery, wealth hoarding, and power. I agree that if we remove the existing people, new people would simply replace them. This is why it is so important that the changes be grass roots up.
My take on Max’s comment is simply that the power resides with the majority of the people, not the elite minority. The transformation can be peaceful or not and the choice is up to the elites, who CONTINUE to destroy real wealth to line their own pockets. Do you realize that the monopoly on violence is now in the hands of corporations and other businesses in the US? If someone else can use violence to improve their wealth and power, perhaps alongside but more likely completely detached from any contract of equal justice amongst the citizens, then why couldn’t you? I talked to a student when I got stuck in the south of france because of a railway strike. He was complaining about it. I told him he should be happy someone was acting up, and that it was a small price to pay for the reassertion of real interdependencies within society. Strikes that ripple through the lives of others put it in their faces that they have a choice to show solidarity. If all rail strikes where banned (because of the economical impact), you would never know who was suffering or neglected.
Just like my project Self defence agains extinction, one could start a project called ‘Self defence about corporate occupation’, saying that this occupation is an ongoing threat to the lives of individuals, who having no other recourse could panic for their lives and strike against it. That is defendable. What do you do if you need medicine to keep yourself alive and you see corrupting corporate lobbyist threaten you only source of income?
