    Max, why don’t you go after the fake left, please don’t alienate your audience, most of us who supported the ORIGINAL tea party have to deal with the cards we are dealt, What we should be doing is trying to get these people on the right page and out of the corporate pocket. Thats what the Ron Paul supporters try to do and Rand Paul has to get elected so he can stop playing nice with the Neo-Cons..one thing you don’t seem to understand.

    Okay, unlike Max and Stacy, I still live in the US, and they are being too hard on Americans with this. There IS genuine grass roots discontent with both parties here but it is being hijacked by the corporations to make it ineffective.

    Ideological subversion tactics in the US work to make disruptive social movements “uncool” to nullify their appeal; so intellectuals introduced to the dorky corporate version (tea party inc. in this case) can rip on it and call it “generic, corporatized, stupid, etc.”

    Max and Stacy are not living in the US, and seem to only be exposed to corporate mockeries of protest. They look through a purple trans-Atlantic lense and call everything purple. I feel it’s a shame that I’ve been a loyal patron of Max and Stacy, yet I can’t ever go out and protest without them thinking I’m a corn-fed Fox news, Palin or McCain moron. It just isn’t so.

    Maybe all on the same day they found out Punk Rock existed, and was generic and a fake corporate product, was because their first exposure was Green Day on MTV. But they weren’t at the Dead Kennedy’s show during the WTO protests, protesting “New Feudalism” 10 years ago, when half the crowd there had been tear gassed that day. People here know what’s up. Real protest in the US is met with an iron fist so it’s hard to measure. Don’t let Max and Stacy speak for all Americans.

    I learned that Code Pink is astroturf when I discovered who it was that signed off on literally censoring Project Censored’s yearly reports. It was a Washington DC thinktank called IPS that had taken over the publishing of the reports, and guess who’s on the board? The head of Code Pink in LA Jodie Evans. And what did they want to censor out of the Project Censored reports? Anything and everything pertaining to 9/11 being an inside job.

So how do you explain the Red Carpet on Fox for the Tea Party, the drawing in millions of ‘anonymous’ donations to nominate candidates and the GOP kowtowing to their demands? I believe the explanation is the movement is just a repackaged Christian Right, but one more dangerous now that they have the massive financial backing of the secretive Koch brothers and the media backing of arch Leo Straussian, neoconservative, Rupert Murdoch.

    The Tea Party, in general, are also Red Team partisans. And Ron Paul, by the way, has distanced himself from the Tea Party and told them to beware of the warmongering likes of Beck and Palin. The Christian Right, however, demands war as they always have and so more war we will have; and the several wars the US has going on at the same time comes down to their vocal and enthusiastic support for the Bush administration’s murderous rampage (which has now become the Obama admin’s).

    Re: punk, I’ve never listened to Green Day. I did attend gigs by the Ramones, Circle Jerks and Husker Du back in the early eighties; no big deal and MTV was already making everything corporate by then anyway
