Dylan Ratigan seemed to tacitly endorse violent revolution on his show Monday. He hosted far-left radical Ted Rall who, when he’s not comparing “idiot” American soldiers to suicide bombers, is lauding the necessity of political violence. Ratigan opened the segment by claiming the nation may need “more drastic solutions” to our problems than political action.
“Are things in our country so bad that it might actually be time for a revolution?” Ratigan asked. “The answer obviously is yes,” he added, and “the only question is how to do it.”
At no point in the segment did Ratigan reject his guest’s wild notion that violence is the only possible remedy to our political problems.
Rall, author of the new book “The Anti-American Manifesto”, bemoaned the left’s lack of progress in using non-violent means. “The american left has been very peaceful since the early ’60s and where has it gotten us?” Rall said. “Millions marched against the war in iraq. what did it do?”
Remember, when Sharron Angle suggested we find “Second Amendment remedies” to the nation’s problems, the media went nuts. ABC News, CBS News, MSNBC, CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, the Las Vegas Sun, Politico, Newsweek, and scores of liberal blogs all piled on, bemoaning Angle’s thinly-veiled call for violence.
Rall even quoted John Locke – on of the Founders’ favorite political philosophers, to call for violent revolution when “government fails”. Imagine, for a moment, the reaction if a Tea Party protester went on Fox News and said the same thing.
But where is the outrage here? Is this another case of “my left-wing crazies are better than your ring-wing crazies” – calls for violence are okay as long as leftism is the endgame? Or were media liberals simply using Angle’s statement (and other supposed calls for violence on the right) as a political bludgeon – pointing out leftists calling for violent revolution is pointless now that there’s no apparent political advantage in doing so?

Feds Admit to Storing Thousands of Images from Naked Body Scanners
Full body scanners, which thwart terrorist attacks by flashing airport security your genitals and breasts, are supposed to generate images that disappear as soon as they’re viewed. At least that’s what the TSA has claimed in response to privacy concerns over the creepy technology.
As it turns out, that’s the opposite of true: The U.S. Marshals Service admitted that just one courthouse checkpoint in Florida has stored tens of thousands of the images. And a report released last week revealed that the TSA demands all machines be equipped with the ability to record and transmit images for “testing, training, and evaluation purposes.”

How come the GOP keeps getting away with vilifying Obama and the Blue Team for what were once originally GOP proposals? Because the American people are fucking stupid and have no sense of history, that’s why.
It’s fascinating that so-called “small government” conservatives didn’t make a peep when Bush:
-raised the debt ceiling
-signed an omnibus spending bill
- signed the not-paid-for Medicare Part D prescription bill (adding $1 trillion to the US deficit over 10 years)
- started 2 off-budget wars and cut taxes at the same time
- enacted multiple stimulus packages
- gave tax cuts to people who bought vehicles that weighed 6,000 pounds or more (great way of dealing with an energy crisis!)
But those same people lost their shit about “big government” when Obama put together a stimulus package–after Bush bailed out the banks and the automakers–, raised the debt ceiling, signed the omnibus (which the GOP would only vote for after loading it up with pork!), passed health care (which sucked, but at least it will cut into the deficit, unlike Bush’s program), enacted the “cash-for-clunkers” program, and started talking about keeping the Bush tax cuts only for the bottom 98%.
The reason I have very little respect for people who call themselves Republicans, conservatives, or otherwise align themselves with the right is that they are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites. Those who aren’t hypocrites are just too damn ignorant and lazy to realize that the things that today’s GOP/Tea Partiers scream about the loudest were either GOP proposals initially, or things that the GOP has done over and over again itself in the recent past.
Obama and the Dems suck, too, but they’ve still got a long way to go before they approach the level of hypocrisy that exists on the right.
