    It is idiotic to say a dollar convertible to gold is the way to restore fiscal responsibility to the US.

    The way to restore fiscal responsibility is to allow Americans the use of genuine private currencies so that they escape the stealth inflation tax.

    That way, if the government overspent then it would only harm itself and those who received its money (government workers and contractors, the military, SS recipients, etc). The government itself would have a strong incentive to spend wisely.

    Gold is a ridiculous solution to the problem of government overspending and those who suggest it is a solution should wise up.

    hate ta hafta disagree with you on this one, but if an executive of a hedge fund is disignated to LOOK FOR PROMISING stocks and COMPANIES for the fund to purchase… it is only normal for that exec to PUT HIS MONEY WHERE HIS MOUTH IS, and buy some of the “potential up-side” company. IF the fund were a GOVERNMENT purchaser, there would be a problem.
    Classic example is Walt Disney QUIETLY buying up THOUSANDS of acres of swampland in middle of Florida.
    Was he OBLIGATED to say, “Oh, btw, Disney Company is going to be buying TENS of thousands of acres here” prior to going public (after some large tracts had already been purchased?)
    Got to agree with some other commenters here, Max has a ___ __ going after Buffet, Munger, and Sokolov (?), when the FAR MORE IMPORTANT perpetrators are either COLLUDING with crimes, or WHITE WASHING crimes, RIGHT IN the US govt.     Debt and interest free fiat for government money is 1/2 of the money problem solution so Lincoln deserves partial credit. The other 1/2 of the solution is any number of private money supplies for private debts. These could include gold and silver and more sane money forms such as common stock and store coupons. However, those private monies must be completely unacceptable to the governemnt else we would allow private counterfeiting of governemnt money.

    As for Warren Buffet, money is far overrated since there never seems to be enough to make anyone happy. Poor Warren! “What profited a man to gain the whole world …” He could have had both the money and kept the respect of millions if he had lobbied for fundamental reform but I doubt he even knows what that would be.

    When I first started addressing these issues, prominent law professors were already posturing for the universal implementation of jus loci, (the law of the place), to be applied globally, so that if any data, information or opinion,is held illegal in any given jurisdiction, the originators of that data, image, message, opinion, etc., would be liable for extradition to that least tolerant of all jurisdictions, despite the fact that freedom might be permissible in the jurisdiction where the data originated.

    I find Icke to be a very engaging fellow – I’m sure he would be great in any company.

    A few years back he came to my town (because they would not let him speak in Vancouver BC – hate speech BS or something) and I found myself at the event – I still mocked him regularly at that point. I sat through the entire 9 hours, fully entertained and inspired, and have been a fan ever since.

    I am certainly willing to listen to anything the man has to say with an open mind, but still a reserved judgment on some issues. Metaphysically (all that really matters) he is spot on, IMHO.

    @ Jimmy C- hanging people = fear. It comes down to are you a love person, or are you a fear person. Sorry, those are the only two choices.

    Jimmy, the value of fiat is that government REQUIRES it for taxes. Get it? If you have no fiat then you can’t pay your taxes. And if your can’t pay your taxes then you can’t buy gasoline and food if there are taxes on them. Get it?

    But what is gold? It’s a shiny metal that the smarter gold-bugs like Gary North wish the government to REQUIRE for taxes, thus turning gold into real money. That’s pure hypocrisy for those who claim gold is real money. Gold isn’t real money (except in primitive countries) without government recognition of it as money.

    I got my ideas on money from the Bible (among other sources). Should I pretend I didn’t?

    These are dangerous times. The “666″ money system maybe inches away. If people do not know how money should be properly implemented then it is most likely that it will be improperly implemented. And no, a government gold standard is not proper. It would probably lead to the “666″ money system when it was rejected again.

    His whole engineering of backing both Hillary and Obama during the primary elections, because they both voted for TARP bail outs, was classic corruption.

    Then him co-signing his name to Goldman Sachs was what alerted many of us, that the TARP bail outs were meant for his losses in the derivatives scam.

    Buffet is a complete joke, and his aura of taking a small anual salary and charity, are used as a smoke screen for all of the corrupt power he’s gain over the years.

    Buffet has to be brought to justice and his ill-gotten gains CLAWBACKED and LIQUIDATED in RECEIVERSHIP/BANKRUPTCY.

    Warren Buffet is a circus clown and deserves no respect whatsoever!
