But they don’t seem to quite understand that while the country is not not part of the euro – and thus not being asked to help underwrite Greek debt – the U.K. banks ARE part of the Euro (and world) non-accountability derivatives Ponzi scheme that is at the heart of the Greek troubles. In fact, London is the epicenter for such accounting and financial crimes. Britain has not felt the full force of the global meltdown because it is shielded in part due to its primary role in profiting from underwriting global derivatives fraud. This is another reason why Greece should default on these illegitimate debts; to crash the City of London and its ability to issue imperial debt chains via its corrupt banking sector.

In Ireland, our politicians are telling us, “Ireland is not Greece” – in effect, trying to portray the situation in a nationalist way rather than what it fundamentally is: reckless creditors who expect the ordinary citizens of all nationalities to pay them boundless tribute. That is the real divide. I wish our politicians would instead stand up and say “I’m not Papandreou”, but sadly they won’t.

As for us ordinary citizens, we should all be following the example of the followers of Spartacus in Stanley Kubrick’s film: “I’m Spartacus!”, “I’m Spartacus!”: Like them, we need to rebel against a new form of slavery and declare in solidarity, “We’re Greece!”, “We’re Greece!”
