Inequality could cause American Spring

#occupywallst is the latest chapter in GIABO that got into full swing when Tunis erupted, that had been building since the real estate market popped in 2006 and the global unwind got going bringing with it austerity and QE (all of which we predicted would happen starting in 2003).

After being in Dublin, Athens, Cairo and Beirut recently I am watching the action on Wall St. and the first thing that I am struck by is that activists there believe that they just figured out this ‘Wall St. is killing us narrative’ and that their protest is the most important in the world suddenly. Yes, it’s ON WALL ST. but Wall St. itself, that is to say, the derivatives business and the WMFD’s, are no longer there. They are traded in powerful hubs in various global hot spots with London being the epicenter more than Wall St. But putting that aside, let’s face it, the US is by and large the beneficiary of the financial terrorism it creates and it’s tough to see these protesters as victims. Maybe next year when gas is $7 or $8 and unemployment has doubled again we’ll see something a bit more rough and tumble. But welcome NY to the global fight… You’ve got a toe in the water, let’s see what develops.

  1. How many new jobs have the millionaires create in the past 2 years??

  2. “But putting that aside, let’s face it, the US is by and large the beneficiary of the financial terrorism it creates and it’s tough to see these protesters as victim” Max Keiser

The US benefits: the bankster/corporate plutarchy benefit make billions of $. The tens of millions of unemployed, working poor, and dwindling “middle class” get cheap gas.

    Who benefits?

  3. … this peaceful, dignified, purposeful an orderly beginning moves me and commands my respect. What will happen, what will come of this, I do not know, but, unlike a riot, this form of protest obtains deeper sympathy and approval with me and, thereby, more meaning.

  4. ZORRO CALIFORNIA

The interviewer is an absolute peach!

Ahhh yes, back to business. 500 people! WTF!

This is either an indicator of total vegetabalisation of the population, and / or poor
    promotion of the event.

Nothing less than 500,000 will do.

No wonder the inbred yahoos were sneering from the safety of their balconies.

Its up to us ALL, to keep spreading the message and cascade the truth.

  5. Yanks just don’t see the bigger picture on anything!
They also believe getting the right President, will fix everything!
They get one Idea in there head and that’s it. They’re still bang’n on about HOW and the World Trade Center fell, rather than the reasons why terrorists attacked in the first place. It’s like they want to know the truth, but at the same time are afraid of the truth. You can’t handle the Truth, never a truer line said.

  6. “…a toe in the water…”

I am reminded of my first jump from an airplane. A C141 with an air foil to protect my silk, my foot extended just beyond the edge of the foil and suddenly I was sucked into the air.

I’m thinking it’s part of the ‘phase change’:

  8. RT may be a bit more palatable in their roster of pundits, but their spin varies little from the basic US mainstream media zeitgeist. DeGraw is patient, tolerant, and informative despite the interviewer’s spin. She’s no different from Maddow and Matthews in ultimately portraying all liberal protests as the peasantry screaming and begging for more to be handed down from their overlords. It reminds me of last week’s staged protest at the US Capitol during the SuperCongress’ initial shindig. The media displayed a disruptive crowd screaming for jobs. This effectively diverted attention from protests against the advent of an illegal 12-member politburo fast-tracking fascist agenda. The MSM depiction of GIABO is…

  10. How long before the agent provocateurs dressed in black with masks or scarfs covering their faces start tossing objects at the Police to provoke a response and hundreds get beaten and or arrested?

We know their playbook, it’s just a matter of time.

  11. This is a good video. David DeGraw makes some excellent points here. I can’t help but notice that it seems that Mr. DeGraw has improved his on-camera presence from the earlier videos in which he has appeared. His book is a highly recommended read, imho.

  12. Let’s put ourselves in a typical US citizen shoes here:
I am overweight, I have to work two or more jobs to make ends meet and I am not sure I ‘ll be able to afford my health expenses when I go out demonstrate against the banksters and the riot police breaks my leg.

Go demonstrate first, I’ll follow you (err…may be).

  13. My sense is, the protesters know they are being screwed over by the banks, but probably think that more regulation will rectify the problem, or a change of personnel in the hierarchy; that is to say, they don’t have the faintest idea about the mechanics of the banking system or the corrupting influence of leveraged debt masquerading as money.

You really have to see to the heart of the dragon that is slaying the world if you want meaningful change. When dealing with anything in life, it is important to understand the nature of the thing.

  14. The majority of Americans actually think their votes can fix this mess. The voting system has been completely corrupted as is all government systems.

It is uplifting to see people protesting on Wall Street. Main stream media again turns its back on the public. I hope those rags choke to death.

  15. @John Rodd. What the heck. RT is way better then US media. Heck, not one hit of this was covered anywhere in the main stay media. “She’s no different from Maddow and Matthews in ultimately portraying all liberal protests as the peasantry screaming ..” where you watching the same interview as the rest of us. Maddow is a liberal. That is a laugh. Maddow is a ratings whore., there is nothing liberal about her. Me think you must be a sock puppet of sorts. Never ever heard any RT pundit screaming for more hand outs. Where do you get off on that BS?

  16. @ MrJones

    Well said

    @ John Rodd

  17. It is said that TV has replaced religion as the opiate of the masses. Will Americans give up their snacks in front of the TV to go out onto the cold autumnal streets and protest against something they do not comprehend.

You cannot fight a war against an unknown enemy, can you? Websites like this one are great for the reasonably intelligent but next to useless for the avereage guy on the street. Time to cut the financial jargon, and repeatedly spell out the issues.

“CDS” and “derivatives” mean nothing, it’s a foreign language.

  18. Unlike the countries where the protests have real teeth to their meaning , the US offers something to it’s citizens which will probably keep rioting at arms length…food stamps, unemployment checks, extended unemployment checks, welfare through other means, etc.

As long as there is a means to get fed and to a certain extent sheltered pacification will be a reality.

When one does not have these things then pain will be the motivator.

  19. Ron Paul has voted for all of the solutions this guy espouses, yet he says the Tea Party is the problem? Guess he doesn’t see that the divide and conquer media is pitting Tea Partiers against Democrats even when they are both basically saying the same thing. Class warfare is the problem, not left/right issues.

  20. Dear Max,

I can’t speak for everyone, but for my part, it surprises me to hear your belief that “activists there believe that they just figured out this ‘Wall St. is killing us narrative.’” Like many other Americans, I’ve been watching and learning from YOU for months now. You are one of the (new media) voices which has opened our eyes and given us confidence in our cause. In fact, the reason for my visit to your site tonight was to see what guidance or encouragement you might have had to offer.

Yes, we know that Wall Street is not the only financial hub in the world, just like we know that most trading is not even done by humans but by algorithms, which aren’t phased in the least by protests. We know that we live in the richest and most aggressive country in the world, and that the exploitation of average Americans pales in comparison to the injustices caused or permitted worldwide by our own military, economic policies and corporations. We have seen what happens to people abroad who resist our military and economic occupation, and it makes us ill. Please do not liken us to a spoiled child throwing a temper tantrum, for this resistance is not about us alone – It has just taken us a while to get from being complacently bewildered at the inefficacy of our democracy to realizing that this isn’t a real democracy at all.

The ruling elite in this country have spent the last century building societal institutions that have subdued young Americans and broken our spirit of resistance to domination. Our lives are overcriminalized, we are overmedicated, indoctrinated by an authoritarian educational system, and molded cradle-to-grave by an individualistic, competition-obsessed culture of consumption characterized by fear and indignation of the Other. Our enemy is not a simple dictatorship; it is a web of greed and deceit that relies on its complexity to operate with impunity. Wall Street is its symbol.

It makes it kind of hard to revolt, but god damn it if we won’t try.

  21. daddy warbucks

Americans are clueless as a general rule. The NWO/Bilderbergs understand how imperative this is in order for them to continue putting in place their Regulatory/Federal Police State. Once the mechanism is ‘in place’, then the Coup d’etat on the US Constitution can be finalized through martial law (any number of manufactured events could be used as an excuse), then it doesn’t matter what the masses think.

Don’t laugh or belittle the Americans, help wake them up. If the USA falls to the NWO/Bilderbergs, the rest of the world is a piece of cake.

  22. Max needs to go to …. LONDON and stir up the shit a little over there.

LONDON, the Mecca of Bankster Thievery.

  23. @damnitimpissed Yours are great words. People have got to start realising that the this Rothschilds-controlled US shadow government has nothing to do with the american people at all. All the americans I have known (and I have lived in the US for 10 years) were fundamentally good natured people. And very generous of their money and time. The american people is a great people and I don’t see how Rothschilds can continue abusing them for long. I am glad to be living next door to them and sharing with them this great American Adventure which ISN’T over yet believe me. ;)

  24. An excellent interview by Christine Frazao. Again RT is asking the questions concerning problems that the MSM refuses to acknowledge even exists. Max your commentary is right on the mark.

@damnitimpissed | September 20, 2011 at 10:52 am | I can appreciate many of your comments but maybe you are a bit off base on one point. In my opinion Max is not likening the US to a child throwing a temper tantrum. He is asking what will it take to get Americans pissed off enough to do what was done in Cairo or Tunis and points out that maybe $7 a gallon gas or double the unemployment rate will do the trick. He may be right though personally I think it may take more than that even like maybe a tripling of food prices which are through the roof already.

He is a little impatient. He’s been around the world chronicling these events and he speaks from a perspective of very profound understanding of the phenomena we are all observing. Things are building here though it is slow. There was Wisconsin. Then the Tar Sands protest now this on Wall Street then the Protest in DC on October 6th. Alyona Minkowski of RT did an excellent interview with an organizer of the October protest that is worth watching too:

    http://www.youtube.com/user/TheAlyonaShow#p/u/6/dZEVfrXXFfg

There is not a lot of experience here in the US in this kind of large scale protest any more. Maybe the last was was Seattle (Max discussed this on a recent show). But people are learning. There is a lot of youthful energy in this too which will move this forward as people’s dissatisfaction grows. Lets see what shakes out on Oct 6th.

His question is a valid one: What the hell is taking Americans so long to get their act together on this.

To me the American reaction to the National Security Warfare State is like several decades overdue.

  25. daddy warbucks: “Don’t laugh or belittle the Americans,” well, I live among them and I am pretty confident I have a pretty good grasp about their character (their masters do too): they are as consistent as jelly, spineless!
daddy warbucks: “help wake them up.” hey, I tried: they are really heavy (both figuratively and on a scale). Good luck with them! I’m done!

daddy warbucks: “If the USA falls to the NWO/Bilderbergs, the rest of the world is a piece of cake.” I don’t agree with this assertion: a lot of people around the world still have a strong will not to be dominated by any organization despite all its might.

  26. That will be the piece of cake that will choke them. :)
