CENTRAL BANKER IS A WORRIED MAN
http://www.rcinet.ca/english/news/17_16_06_2011-09-20-central-banker-is-a-worried-man/
The governor general of the Bank of Canada says he’s worried by the state of the world economy and that its problems lie chiefly in the U.S. and Europe.
Mark Carney says the problems are damaging investor confidence. He says Europe’s fiscal and national debt problems can be resolved but that governments there have to act quickly to do so. Mr. Carney urges European leaders to capitalize their banks and to increase their emergency fund for indebted European government.
Regarding the Americans, he says the recent political squabble over the U.S. government debt ceiling also has discouraged investors. Mr. Carney thinks the U.S. won’t fall back into recession but that the country’s squabbling politicians are making things worse.
The governor general says that although the solutions to the problems lie beyond Canada’s borders, that country would be impacted if there’s another global shock.

I wonder if I should run up all my cards in silver, gold and food before the 29th of October…
“1933 – By executive order, Franklin Roosevelt prohibits the private ownership of gold.”
How anyone can read America’s sorted history of robbing it’s inhabitants of their wealth, health, and lives, and not see it as a slave farm, is difficult to comprehend. Forced into wars. Forced to use slave coupon currencies. Extorted to pay for wars of aggression. How is it not the modern version of slaves being whipped to build a big limestone triangle? The lifespan of fiat currencies is similar to the time it took to build one of those triangles by the way.
@Bill – Mark Carney is yet another Goldman Sachs boy. Notice his focus is on perception management.
From Wikipedia, “Before joining the Canadian public service, Carney spent thirteen years with Goldman Sachs in its London, Tokyo, New York and Toronto offices.”

Spot gold headed for biggest quarterly rise in 25 years
Gold prices edged up on Wednesday, as worries about a worsening euro zone debt crisis supported safe-haven sentiment ahead of the conclusion of a U.S. Federal Reserve policy meeting.

Private internet e-transaction banks with accounts denominated in gold and silver grams, not national currencies; no fractional-reserve lending, only lending from previously saved money at true rates of interest. How else to save the division of labor and maintain the flow of trade? Certainly not by government fiat or intervention—governments haven’t the slightest understanding of the problem that they have caused by legally empowering these banking schemes predicated on fractional-reserve lending of money created out of debt.
Yes Max. The monetary system is on the verge of collapse, in fact, it has been collapsing for some time. The world, however, appears to be collapsing at the same rate. Earthquakes are abnormal this year. There is plenty of “shifting” of the earth’s plates to shake the bowl. At some point in time it would be expected that a major hit will come to the San Andreas fault in California. There’s also a major fault line that runs through Utah, where I presently reside. I know one thing, a 6.9 or higher magnitude earthquake in the major cities of California will make the failure of the financial systems pale in comparison. A grimmer picture of devastation in quake-hit Sikkim emerged on Tuesday as soldiers blasted boulders blocking hill roads and reached isolated areas like Mangan, 65km from Gangtok. With help reaching faraway regions, the body count from Sunday’s temblor raced passed 130 and could rise as many more are feared trapped.
I believe the EU will dissolve along with The United States. I don’t believe we have skillful leadership that is necessary in the United States to prevent this from happening. We’ll have to watch the situation unfold, I guess. But it would be extremely wise for those in the United States to own a protection mechanism. I no longer think there is any possibility of their being a pretty outcome to all of this.
Peacefully, that is. . .

You only have to look at the new gold suppression schemes, which started about two weeks ago, to understand that they are afraid, very afraid. They being the central banksters of course. But there has been very strong buying below the $1,800 level which keeps forcing the market back up quickly.
@Youri Carma |
Just wondering your thoughts if “gold suppression schemes” are back firing ?
when hard PMs go down in spot is driving more of the public to buy?
I know I do
Visiting friends in the USA, how does one have the heart to tell them that their currency will inevitably devalue by at least 50%. (As will of course everyone elses)
Not exactly polite dinner conversation for your hosts.
All I have seen in the US, is either rabbits stuck in headlights who still want to believe in the false hope pumped out by the bullshitters on mainstream TV or, ostriches who are not interested.
