It is always amazing who you can find on the streets of NYC. Great interview and this guy needs to be on Alex Jones and other non-corporate (Federal Reserve) media. Definitely worth the listen especially at a time like this.

Max, why not a forever explain the terms that people are wrongly used. Corporatism, capitalism, socialism, communism, class struggle, totalitarianism, Stalinism, fascism. etc …
Is not it better to bring that say Professor Richard Wolff, superb analyst, which will further clarify these terms.

Nobody cares for the contents of a bottle of wine. Everyone kept trying to put labels on the bottle does not respect the basic rules, or at best, many interlocutors seem to lack fundamental knowledge about the above terms. Sometimes you lose, but the happiness you have Stacy beside him.

Let’s say a classic example that we can read below the video clips is about: the Socialists and Communists take OWS. Then the term “communism”, confusing it with something that is totalitarian (Stalinist-type), having no idea that the system say that it was an established in Yugoslavia before its breakup, was socialist in which employees have control over the enterprises at all levels. I have a feeling that the term “socialism and communism” have a totally negative connotation. Communism as an ideological term and say, dialectical materialism as a philosophical category.

If a loss of banks and their shareholders covering the bailout schemes in super complicated and mystical transactions, then it is better to use a nice word in English that’s called FRAUD. FRAUD is punishable

People had becomes slaves of their own greed.
They thought that an appreciating house price and a small parcel of shares made them one of the winners.
They would fight vigorously for what they considered their new found wealth which was, in reality, voluntary slavery to a system that was using them.
They are slowly becoming aware of this and asking what is it all about? All these long hard working hours, mindless commuting, supporting their families, frivolous TV, buying cheap Chinese trinkets, etc.
Through this transformation we WILL discover the real meaning of living and loving amongst ourselves.
It is now inevitable

Chris Hedges is the genuine article and a all round good egg! The tremendous humility he conveys in this interview belies the fact that he’s been a tireless and unceasing warrior for the cause through his writings and he has done much (along with the likes of Max Keiser and Stacey Herbert) to contribute to the consciousness raising which has ultimately culminated in the grassroots OWS movement.

This interview brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for posting this Max and Stacey.

Hedges reached deep into my mind with his speech on celebrity culture after Jackson’s death and funeral.
From beginning to end I felt compelled by his accurate description of our reality.
Since then, I’ve avidly followed him, as was the case with Max, Stacy and all you brainiacs here after my first visit to this brilliant site.

Chris Hedges is not only “classy” but brilliant, genuine, and most of all, he knows what he is talking about through years of direct experience and exhaustive research. As a Canadian, I am all the more mortified by a recent CBC interview of Mr. Hedges by Kevin O’Leary who accused Mr. Hedges of being a “left-wing nutbar” before Mr. Hedges had a chance to open his mouth. As a result, Mr. Hedges in his “classy” way, said he would never appear on the CBC again. The CBC is sponsored by Canadians through our taxes!! This fact makes Mr. O’Leary’s ignorant mudslinging all the more outrageous. Thank you Max Keiser.

How can a person say such beautiful truths about the current situation, yet say such horrible untruths about someone else just because they are a celebrity? Hedges is now a becoming a celebrity as well, plugging his book. I’m sure he wants sales and notoriety like everyone else. It is completely hypocritical, what he says about Michael. Not to mention outright lies.

I feel betrayed here, somehow.

Someone needs to explain to him what MJ is about. Because that ain’t it.

Chris Hedges insight into the “problem” the establishment has with OWS in brilliant. Non-violence, they do not know how to deal with this. Ghandi -“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”
Unfortunately the “blue uniformed soldiers” will look for a response that they know how to deal with, violence. This will lead to more and more provocation. Either from the police lines or by agent provocateurs planted into the protest.

Wow, I’ve recently been allowing myself to be negatively effected, depressed even by the string of hateful, close minded, and often bigoted remarks in the comments section of EVERY article I read lately. But for some reason, THIS overwhelmingly honest bit of insight with CH has maybe melted the cold hearts of the pervasive trolls, if only for a moment (exception of @indeed). Thanks Max and Stacey, i needed that. Would be really cool to see y’all interview the man.
On a side note, in my own musical aspirations, I notice that jealousy can surface in many forms like resentment towards anyone with any ‘popularity’ at all(sell-outs!) even if they make good sounds, and conversely I’ll support music I don’t even like, just ’cause I’m friends with the band, and we’re all struggling to get by, be heard, or even book a fucking show once a month. Maybe it’s not such a bad thing someone like Chris Hedges is gaining in popularity, and might even be able to support his kids off of book sales.(?) Hopefully Max and Stacey are getting a few$ for all the stupid adds all over this site, because the positive impact is greater then the compromise.
