You are already aware how important this all is.

Jeez, that is unbelievable with that airline. If the airline couldn’t forward funds to the fuel supplier then there are much bigger credit line problems in the UK then anyone wants to talk about. The plane was in Vienna, Austria which is eurozone. They would only accept cash payment from a UK based company. A credit freeze in this circumstance can mean one of only two things. The airline company is insolvent or very nearly so and about to declare bankruptcy or that the Eurozone have lost faith and confidence in the UK’s ability to pay.

A story like this will always make the UK MSM especially if the reason it happened was confined to a failing airline. If it’s my second scenario then it will almost certainly not be reported at all. There’s obviously media footage because they showed part of it on capital account. Time to do a MSM search.

Did human extraterrestrials visit Earth — and predict a Golden Age will culminate in the year 2012, freeing us from evil, fear and doom?

Did the founding fathers of America inherit this prophecy — and encode it directly into the Great Seal of the United States? Why is there a pyramid with an eye inside a glowing triangle? Is Novus Ordo Seclorum quoted from an ancient prophecy text — the greatest and most secret treasure of the Roman Empire — predicting that humans on Earth will transmute into “light beings” and achieve Apotheosis — where Man becomes God — and the ’Gods’ themselves return?

@Mirror mirror, Yeah thanks. I just been checking it out on channel 4 news, Etc. It was the charter company who went bankrupt in Birmingham. The other thing is that in the UK you have all sorts of insurance against this sort of thing from CAA and ATOL but like most of these products in the UK they are basically a scam that don’t actually work if you ever have to make a claim. There are only vague hints of a “possible refund” and the rest of the passengers stranded in India have to buy additional tickets from BMI at some sort of discount but again with only a possibility of a refund for the flight costs that “might take months”.

The UK is full of scam insurance deals. They come from off the shelf institutions that sell membership to the travel industry, to use that as a vehicle to offer products which are basically worthless. Although they pretend to be a service to customers of travel agencies they are really just there to profit and to protect it members. Most of the people who run these institutions are lawyers. They play the greater fool theory. It’s highly unlikely that a customer will ever be able to penetrate the legalese small print jargon and if they do they can just decline the cover on a individual basis.

These scams actually started in the 1980s. It was Thatcher who okayed scamming the riff-raff as a respectable business model.

  37. @sam … Chamberlain ?

I must have missed that .

  44. @sam .. thanks … I wasn’t paying attention at that moment obviously.

Germany has one major problem IMO … the size of it’s State.

80% of German Politicians come from the “upper” Civil-Service .

I can recommend the book “Das System” from Prof. von Arnim , which explains in great detail how the German State gets fatter and fatter.

    DE:
    http://www.amazon.de/Das-System-Die-Machenschaften-Macht/dp/3426776588/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1321707532&sr=1-2

Translation not too good , but still :

    One reader wrote :

The book “The System” by Hans Herbert von Arnim points to just under 400 pages, have established themselves as political parties and politicians in our system and how they manipulate it to their advantage. It also sets out how their self-interests of a certain inability to reform results, which annoys me personally for some time

    Another writes :

“In what state are we living?” This is the central question in Hans Herbert von Arnim’s best book. He has probably already written many excellent books, but this tops them all. It really opens your eyes and sometimes delivers almost unbelievable facts. A passage from his book brings to the matter, in my opinion, in a nutshell: “Every German has to obey the liberty laws, which he has never agreed to, he can admire the grandeur of the Basic Law, the validity of which he has never legitimized; he is free to worship leaders who has ever chosen a citizen, and to provide lush – with its tax dollars on their use, he was never questioned. Total state and politics are in a state from which you can claim only professional optimists or hypocrite, he had emerged from the will of the citizens. ”

Anyone who has read this book, makes no more illusions about the character of those who govern us.

Also, the price-performance ratio I think extraordinarily well. A beautiful hardcover for the price of a paperback book – there are 5 star!

  45. .

    @sam … just a small example ..

I remember some 5 years ago, some Green Party Newbie young women said the following during a discussion :

… The State must consider how many Citizens it can support…

… or words to that effect !

She was talking about rising Social Security Costs IIRC … and was said in the tone of ” ‘We’ are the State ; the people are just a nuisance to be tolerated”

I have never forgotten that moment !

  46. @MirrorMirror

looks like an interesting read. but then most of the UK political elite come from a small group of well connected schools, universities, families and businesses and they end up representing them before the people who ‘vote’ them in.

  51. The Final Straw? Jefferies And Six Other Banks Sued For “Fraudulent” MF Global Bond Issuance

    Excerpt:

Pick the odd one out of the following 7 banks, while in the process pointing out what they have in common:

    - Bank of America Corp,
    - Citigroup Inc,
    - Deutsche Bank AG,
    - Goldman Sachs Group Inc,
    - Jefferies Group Inc,
    - JPMorgan Chase & Co and
    - Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc.

As it so happens 6 of the 7 are Bank Holding Companies, and have access to the Fed’s various emergency facilities. All six were sued by pension funds “who said the bonds’ offering prospectuses concealed problems that led to the futures brokerage’s collapse.” Every single entity that was impaired in part or in whole as a result of the MF Global bankruptcy will follow suit and sue the same 7 banks… of which only Jefferies does not have the benefit of an infinite backstop .

According to the complaint, the registration statements and prospectuses for about $900 million of MF Global note offerings this year omitted how the company was using high leverage, investing heavily in risky European sovereign debt, and not properly segregating client assets from its own .

It said the seven banks helped draft the offering documents and sell the notes, collecting $21.2 million of fees, but that their “failure to conduct an adequate due diligence investigation was a substantial factor” in MF Global’s collapse, as well as in defaults on the notes.

The lawsuit was brought by the IBEW Local 90 Pension Fund in Connecticut, and the Plumbers’ and Pipefitters’ Local #562 Pension Fund in Missouri, and seeks class-action status.

And to everyone who may have lost money or had their capital locked up indefinitely by the bankrupt firm, which we are 100% certain will see all of its valuable assets picked off by Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan.

  52. @Max: it is very hard to decode 4.1… has no simple pattern. I think you normally take in those sorts of statements when you’re ready to deploy your program. Germany is now on 4.1, the Bundesbank making a very strong case……
Estamos ahora ante una nuevo programa que esta siendo aplicada y es el Ponzi 4.1..Podríamos decir que Alemania ya esta implementando este programa…El 4.1..Saludos

  53. Is 16-Times-The-Charm For ECB BTP Interventions?

The last two weeks have seen at least 16 interventions by the ECB into the BTP market and still the price is down significantly.

Most importantly, on the two occasions when the ECB has deemed to let free markets reign, we have seen BTP prices free-fall.

    Have a great weekend, Europe.

  54. Just so long as Cameron doesn’t emulate Neville Chamberlain and come back from Berlin waving a useless bit of paper (The Euro?) claiming all is well then I won’t start to worry about history repeating itself.

    On another matter:
RT has two really good women reporters. Both keep their hair off their faces and both refrain keep their legs and their breasts out of sight. Neither has any need to push themselves into the faces of the public. This girl and another who is English both HAVE to have either really short skirts or a good show of breast – or both. Women’s llib was supposed to release women from the need to push their sexiness. As for the chatty way of interviewing. They think they are SO clever, SO cute. Yugh!

    WOW !

There was (IMHO) a very significant development on this front last week. A move is being made in Brussels to “force” the Swiss government/banks to transfer all of the assets of Greek citizens back to the Greek banks. For a Greek this means that your money is hostage. It has been functionally expropriated. It will be transferred into a banking system that is fraught with risk. Some portion of the money that goes back to Greece will certainly be lost.

  87. @F.Beard. Yes, it would be pointless to object to beauty, but its not good to objectify women. Beauty has to be more than skin deep. Virtue is a more desirable quality wouldn’t you say?

    Proverbs 31

10Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

11The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

12She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

13She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

14She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

15She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

16She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

17She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

18She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

19She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

20She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

21She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

22She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

23Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

24She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

25Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

29Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

30Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

31Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Police Response to Occupy Wall Street is Absurd
    E.D. Kain, Forbes Contributor ~ 11/19/2011

Arrests exceeding 250 people followed protests in New York City yesterday. All across the country, cops are cracking down on protesters with force. I may be a critic of Occupy Wall Street, but the police are public servants, and public servants have no business treating the public this way.

By and large, Occupy has been a peaceful affair. Certainly pepper-spraying protesters while they sit calmly in a row like this is a gross abuse of power. It should have our collective blood boiling, whether or not we even agree with the protesters themselves. What was meant to be a protest against economic equality quickly morphs into a protest against the police state.

I once instructed, over the god-mike, for the lead ballerina to remove her costume on stage, while the director screamed “No! No! No! No!”, and she did, because she trusted me over the director. She of course then put it back on, but thereafter she understood her power.

The camera panning up LL’s legs is outstanding. It would take me wheelbarrows just to load the numbers of superlatives needed in quantity sufficient to describe just how wonderful it is, watching those legs. Orson Wells, himself, is known to have been the first director to put a camera on the ground for looking up from the ground POV.

But when enforcers for the Elitists fascist tyranny make an unprovoked attack on an Army Ranger veteran, they step over the line. But many against one, under cover and color of law? That is stupid and cowardly.

Note to enforcers. There will be serious and personal repercussions if you attack veterans. They are sworn to uphold the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. And even if the federal government has been hijacked by criminal organizations, veterans will follow their oath, when the shit hits the fan.

  151. gold bullet

No. Violating the Press is untenable. Bloomberg is not on defensible ground. He has erred severely. I suspect he has overplayed his hand and cannot recover from this unless he relents immediately, (assuming of course, this report is both current and true. And I haven’t been able to successfully corroborate the report with a news search. It may be nothing but more noise.)

  152. A next big leap in social anxiety is due to erupt upon release of the decisions by the supercommittee.

  153. @swell

Maybe you misunderstood my post. I just said that there is no NYPD anymore, instead it is the JPMPD.

I also suspect Bloomberg has a major role in this, since it is not good for the city of New York if pictures and videos of JPMPD cops beating protesters and journalists, arresting them without any legal basis, macing them, and conducting other criminal acts against peaceful protesters, thus violating their First Amendment rights, are seen all over the world.

  159. S&Ps’ X-Maz present: Reuters: S&P to update bank credit ratings within 3 weeks
Standard & Poor’s plans to update its credit ratings for the world’s 30 biggest banks within three weeks and may well mete out a few downgrades in the process, possibly surprising battered global bond markets.

Among the institutions that could be downgraded are:
    - Bank of America Corp
    - Citigroup Inc
    - Morgan Stanley

Some European banks could also be affected. On November 9th, S&P downgraded its scores for the health of the banking industries in a number of countries, including Denmark, Sweden, Finland and the Netherlands.

Earlier this month the agency published its final criteria and said it expects 60% of all bank ratings to stay as they are, while 20% will go up one notch, 15% will fall by one notch and less than 5% will drop by two or more notches.

S&P estimated in January that there would be more downgrades. The agency plans to first announce its results for the 30 biggest banks, possibly as early as late this month, and then begin quickly rolling out its ratings for smaller banks.

Tyler Durden: The impact of a downgrade can be very significant – aside from simply reducing investor appetite for risk (in its simplest form), it can trigger collateral calls and in a world where liquidity is hard to come by, and with the magnitude of funding (and rolling maturing debt) due over the next few quarters, we suspect this will be the catalyst for another leg down in equity prices as they snap back to credit’s reality.

“Gerry Epstein: German elite profited from the Euro Zone, now wants to use crisis to undo welfare state and privatize
Euro Crisis, Neo-Liberalism and Undoing the Welfare State”

Thanks for that link. It is galling to think that our governments are being advised/cajoled/bribed by bankers and their shills to turn Europe into a neoliberal disaster zone. Is anyone going to stand up to them?

  191. PS The Tories and the Libdems are doing the same thing in the UK, just on the quiet. They are being advised by US think tanks (Faust springs to mind) and the NHS bill is now regarded as an attempt to privatise the service.

IMO the Tories are playing the Shock Doctrine game – using the crisis to implement long cherished neoliberal policies. Incredible. So they use the fake argument that a welfare state is unsustainable meanwhile they continue to pump billions into wars, bank bailouts, ignore 70 billion pounds worth of task evasion etc…

Remember neoliberalism is an ideology that preaches freedom but is really just a cover for kleptocrats to grab state resources at knock down prices without the responsibility that usually comes with those resources. Anti-social socialism. Lol.

We are definitely living through a paradigm shift in Europe. The banksters have taken over. Statues of Milton Fraudman will start appearing in European squares.

  196. an example of sand baging to disinform:
    http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2011/11/2400-miles-in-minutes-hypersonic-weapon-passes-easy-test/
this is the army version but it refers to the “mach 20 space plane” with this statement:

The last time the Pentagon test-fired a hypersonic missile, back in August, it live-tweeted the event — until the thing crashed into the Pacific Ocean. This time around, it kept the test relatively quiet. The results were much better

so they now admit it is a wepon but it failed. but this smaller less powerful version worked : this is more sand baging the air force version from darpa works too, lifting bodys stoped being exotic in the 70s when they designed the space shuttle.

    sand bagging the goal:
At first, the Prompt Global Strike involved retrofitting nuclear missiles with conventional warheads; the problem was, the new weapon could’ve easily been mistaken for a doomsday one. Which meant a Prompt Global Strike could’ve invited a nuclear retaliation. No wonder Congress refused to pay for the project.

this is why darpa is building the airforce version congress saw the sand baggs draging behind the program .also why they lied in the initial news reports. also of obvious note how eazy it is to get around congress lol what a joke, but lets move on.

But even though the test might have been relatively easy, the $200 million Advanced Hypersonic Weapon effort could wind up playing a key role in the military’s so-called “Prompt Global Strike” effort to almost instantly whack targets half a world away. A glider like it would be strapped to a missile, and sent hurtling at rogue state’s NUCLEAR SILO *or a terrorist’s biological weapon cache before it’s too late

*MAIN TARGET FOR THE DARPA GLIDER in other words if your nukes are not at the botom of the ocean your screwed* “we know where they are, and we can make it RAIN these things” they are cheep no nuke and clean for the same reason . they can drop them right next to troops with no rads to worrie about . this wipes out any remnate of MAD by the way
*even if you have boomers (said wile waving to russia) you will be needing to surface them to launch, we will be waiting.

intresting times we live in these days.
