    You know, superficially, one can come to the conclusion that what Stacy does every episode is just troll the headlines looking for obvious targets so Max can phlegmatically rant and over-excite himself.

    Really, though, that superficial impression fades quickly. Because what Stacy does is weave a very through-provoking narrative each time through clever contrasts and sometimes brilliant juxtapositions.

    The fact that each time she manages to do this — even though Max seems sometimes to wander from the plot, or in the stupor-phase of his bipolar moments seems like he fails to completely grasp Stacy’s maniacal design — is remarkable. I know of nothing like it as far as its level of sophistication goes on television.

    This is even more striking when it is considered that the show is a kind of low-budget indie insurrection.

    Why do I find this report from WE Pollock so interesting and possibly the most important report I have seen so far on your reports, Mac and Stacy? I do not know why – but he seems to me to be say8ing something so essential, so imminent, so immediate?

    He seems to me to be talking about something we all need to notice at once. Others. also important and so interesting, are often talking about more abstract matters.

    So – I take it that, in the event of a bank holiday, the value of any cash a person has is also devalued as new dollars are issued so that holding onto cash is also a bad idea ??

    When Europe changed to the Euro we lost over half of the value of our money.
    But most people still think here that that had nothing to do with the banks and government, but was just a coincidence.
    Like when we got the BTW, the extra tax. As is was told it was only for businesses but I noticed it immediately because of the loss of money I could spent on groceries.
    It happens all the time.

    Excellent episode. Surely a bank holiday would mean various plastic cards would no longer work in supermarkets. Also ATMs would quickly run out of cash. How could the food distribution system function if the credit cycle of supply stops?

    The only thing that supermarkets could accept in exchange would be cash. Therefore, whoever had immediate cash could still buy food. This is a very serious issue because at least 50% of people and especially those living in urban or suburban dwellings need to shop every day. After three days everybody (who have not prepared) starts starving.

    The way I see it, cash will be king at least through the bank holiday period. The devaluation won’t occur until after the banks reopen. The goods that are still on the shelves will be at the old prices until that runs out. How fast it runs out will depend on the percentage of people that foolishly trust plastic for their food purchases. This will vary country to country. Also, the people who are planning the bank holiday could let ATMs run out ahead of it or blame a “computer glitch”, cyber attack or even a solar flare).

    The next problem after food is of course energy. How can commuters go to work if they can’t buy road fuel? It’s very hard to stash fuel because of the fire risk. I can stash about 100 litres of petroleum (heating fuel for my inverters) and another 100 litres of diesel but that really isn’t very much. I’ve got LPG for the cooker, stashes of food and hygiene products, a garden and a stash of bread-making wheat plus all equipment. The neighbours are also clued up with various stashes and cash and we will work together.

    I still not sure though how a bank holiday would play out. If anyone has ideas I would like to hear them. I’m more prepared then my neighbours so I’m going to be “it” when the shitstorm hits.

    My next step is to establish a check list. I’ve sourced everything for 3 meals a day from a combination of storage and fresh stuff that I can get locally from farmers. Milk, eggs, chicken and veggies. This can run for up to 6 months but I will start running out of some fuels after 5 weeks.

    TIP: Stash something called “pearl barley” in english (Parel grot in Dutch). It’s cheap and non perishable in sealed bags. Until about 70 years ago it was a vital part of the food supply for everything from baby food and formula to all soups and stews. A really good GIABO soup isn’t complete without it.

    @Jayme, No I don’t think so. As has been pointed out, a bank holiday is really a bank lock down on the people’s money held in banks. It’s basically a freeze. Whilst shops still have supplies, they will sell them generally at the old prices. Nothing will happen until the lock down ends apart from people who have trusted the banks will get shafted. The goods will stay on the shelves longer than you would expect purely because a lot of people will be locked out of purchases.

    I can’t see them running this for longer than 5 days because you would get this would cause chaos especially in urban areas.

    So, does this mean that 1) anything that you have in savings will be devalued by 80% (1 for 5 ) and then that is then ‘value halved’ again and that 2) anything that you have ‘in your pocket’ will also be devalued by half but not by the same 80%reduction that the savings would be subjected to and would the dollars in you pocket then become the ‘new dollars’ ?

    This point might be important enough to clarify a bit more explicitly.

    Maybe because he’s speaking the truth. When someone is speaking the truth the
    communication has an energy and power that’s completely different from those that
    aren’t speaking the truth – but it’s not easy to recognise this difference unless you
    yourself have that energy, which appears as the desire to hear the truth.

    Look at Ron Paul. There’s no way he could be in his 70′s and speak with such clarity and
    with such gusto unless he was speaking the truth. That’s why the lies of Romney,
    Gingrich and all are so obvious to those who are drawn to hear the truth.

    It’s also why Max and Stacy have so much energy in the Keiser Reports. They’re simply
    speaking the truth.

    Lying takes up a lot of energy. All self-deceit does. Speaking the truth doesn’t – so there’s
    plenty of energy left which is used to get the message across. Hence a completely
    different type of communication.

    Out here in California, USA, Governor Brown wants to raise taxes. California use to fifth in the world economy, now it is toast. Twelve years ago we had $20 billion in the black then the phony Enron power failures screwed us over and California ended up $20 billion in the red. I could see the whole energy/power catastrophe was a LIE as it was happening, but once these things get started the politicians just push it along until there is nothing left but destruction. Even the WH put in their jabs.

    Then Governor Davis was put through an illegal recall. He was close to getting $5 billion back from the loses, but Schwarzenegger was voted in (he used $18 million of his own money for the election and he had no political experience) and he immediately dragged California into the gutter with one failed bond after another and refused the $5 billion refund. He was a disaster and still got reelected. No one ever criticized him. Now Governor Brown is in with his Green agenda, whacking our already whacked school system into the ground, smart meters everywhere, cutbacks to the bone. California is finished. Wonder how much radiation is pouring in from Japan. No one says nothing.

    I love the way you rail against the banksters and demand their prosecution but can’t really take your show seriously until you acknowledge corporate personhood as the root cause of financial corruption. You must know that the Fourth Amendment to the US Constitution forbids government from auditing their books without “just cause” (as defined by – guess who) . Revoking corporate personhood with a 28th Amendment would give federal prosecutors all the legal tools they need to save America (and the world on which Wall Street preys) from this idiotic cartel. Bankers aren’t that smart, or powerful; we’re that dumb, and pliable. Get the world on the same page as us by exposing that loophole in the US Constitution before Global Corpocracy becomes reality. Please.

    @Hegelian dialectic, Good point. I thought that was a bit extreme. I’ve looked at this before and I can’t see them devaluing by more than 40% net because they wouldn’t be able to contain the unrest. If they took it down 5:1 and then 50% of buying power, anyone who paid out more than 10% of their income for food and energy would be wiped out. That’s the majority of the developed world, the vast majority in the 2nd world and everyone apart from oligarchs in the 3rd world.

    I also agree with Al Kyder. This dude has done his research and has a certain “truthiness” (If that’s even a word). He certainly got me paying attention.

    TIP: Soft commodity hedge learned from Eastern Europe 1990. Take cash and buy bulk tobacco products, premium shaving stuff, shampoo and hygiene products that women like. You can sell them into the new issue. This is a workable transition because these things have good shelf life, easy to store and will be in demand.

    Don’t sell or trade to strangers if you can help it. Always try to support your community and your group.

    max – please have him on to talk about ‘solution points’ to the current mess too. this piece covered a good amount of ”where we are’, but a conversation on how buckminster fuller’s thinking could be used/applied as an ideal would make for really interesting viewing.

    Nutz! Bank holiday and the next day your savings are 1/2 or whatever.
    This is a global floating rate currency regime, with a few pegs to Usd or Euro .
    Since all currency is tied to the buck and it was “holidayed”, what would the effect be on the prices of all assets world-wide? Zero net change….not worth doing.

    My observation is that a lot of the guests on these shows are from ex-haves, showing that Max’s old adage of the haves versus the have yachts is truly here.

    Well, if a bank holiday were to happen and the currencies are devalued, it wouldn’t be really the first time something similar has happened recently, at least from my perspective.

    I remember when the € was put in circulation in 2002. and I can recall that two or three months into 2002. and the introduction of the € into circulation I have noticed that ie. something that had a cost of 50 DEM (German Marks) had suddenly changed cost into €50, that is the cost was doubled since the exchange rate was €1=DEM 1.95.

    So it wouldn’t surprise me if that was to happen again.

    How would the purchasing power parity of all the holders of all the “assets” adjust to the new regime?

    Next time you make a show about copyright/SOPA/PIPA, I suggest you interview Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails).

    He has been on a major label for a long time and has openly and publicly criticized major labels for their predatory practices towards artists and fans and now releases independently and has been one of the pioneers in new ways to release music and does so under Creative Commons licenses. Also, as you know by now, he has publicly opposed SOPA/PIPA.

    Please consider my suggestion to have him as a guest on KR or OTE, if possible.

    I live in the Bay Area and I agree, but this is just indicative of what is going on everywhere. The intl. bankster/corporate mafia vampire squid is everywhere and they will asset-strip until nothing but scorched earth remains. Govts. are merely public relations managers for them.     Pollock has a good dea of how it will go down. Who would have thought that corruption, self interest and criminal activity would become the norm and eventually bring down the system. Very cheap oil made a lot of these scams possible, as this resource dries up reality will bite. The human race had the ability to manage themselves resposibly but decided to have a piss up instead. The opportunity is gone for the majority, welcome to the new physical reality.

    I was living in Russia when savers experienced similar shocks to the value of their earnings and purchasing power thanks to the neoliberal thinking economic advisors and greed of their oligarchs.

    Basically Warren is stating that purchasing power is about to drop 75%. When that happens what happens to the debts of the average person such as home loans credit cards etc? What happens to small business?

    Modern Society has become a game: Not so long ago most people were employed in agriculture, even the lowest labourer had responsibility to get it right, the results were tangible, the consequences serious. (People lose their humour when they are hungry). Manufacturing then started to employ large numbers of people. Again the results were tangible and you were responsible for your product. With the ability to produce large amounts of food, and machine produce manufactured goods with little labour; the essentials were taken care of.
    Now we could have said OK every person works 1 hour a day contributing to the essentials, amuse yourselves for the rest of the day.
    No: some said OK there is fat in the system how can we corner it for ourselves.(We will call them the elite). The essentials have to be done: 4% of the population can look after that. Its nice to have a sense of power, so we will invent a system that keep the rest doing almost meaningless work. But the new reality will be based on paper, promises and perceived status.
    Society have come to the position were essential services are considered menial. The almost meaningless work is hard to quantify so the gifted writers, orators and connected do very well, and of course the system designers have unlimited power and resources. The system designers appear to have become bored and will probably trash this game in favour of a new one

I was concerned about whether the little I have on hand would have the same purchasing power or whether they would issue some strange form of devalued paper script if they confiscated any freely floating cash.

    With credit and debit cards, and the crackdown on people who spend cash, it sounds like the central banks are trying to get to a point where all revaluation can be done instantly. The centralized banking system is the greatest threat to liberty ever conceived. I have no good feelings towards this coming year. It will be very unfortunate for so many.

    @Zurn, The Russians say that those sounds are large underground tunnel systems venting a large amount of air. The Russians know about it because they are currently building around 2,000 underground bunkers all over Russia. If the systems have been sealed up for a while a lot of toxic gases can build up. When they open them they do this venting to put fresh air into them. A lot of these tunnels serve DUMBs which are deep underground military bases. The huge pumps are also as a defence against poison gas attacks which is a known method for assaulting a DUMB. To get an idea of why it sounds like that just blow across the top of a bottle.

    The scary bit is that there’s so many of these systems and they were built in secret.

    Two US DUMBs were either attacked or suffered some major accident on August 22nd 2011. That was the weird sound recorded at the baseball game. The vent shafts are kept closed and hidden until the pumps (or a huge underground explosion) expel all the air out of the base and tunnel system. The media said that these were earthquakes but the seismic signature shows they were underground explosions.

    There’s all sorts of weird theories about why, Etc. I have no idea why or what happened but there’s clear evidence that they were blown up and destroyed.

    This not true. There was a peak in gold mining in 2001 at about 2600 metric tons p.a. . Gold mine production declined till 2007. Since this year gold production increased sharply to almost 2700 metric tons in 2010 again and probably even more in 2011. (Haven´t seen data yet). More and more new gold mines start production now because of the high price of gold. And because of the fact that very few of the gold mined is lost, the world wide stock in gold grows by much more than 2000 metric tons each year.

    Occurred to me yesterday, that the use of force by the police in US (and around the world I suppose) is a tactic of intimidation to stifle protest (obviously, I know)…and what is the surefire way top counter that?
