   Of course the MAFIAA and the Hollywood copyright cartel dinosaurs are uncomfortable with the internet, because they have seen last week what kind of power INTERNET USERS (not Google or Silicon Valley) can have when they come together against them.

   Users of the internet have shone a light on the shadowy backroom dealings which have lead to SOPA/PIPA almost being passed and have been able through a series of actions (various petitions, the internet blackout day, people spreading the word through social media) to prevent that. There is now a similar action to prevent ACTA from being ratified in the EU Parliament, Avaaz is organizing a petition, people are spreading the word on ACTA, people are protesting (at least in Poland).

   They can try whatever they want, they will not succeed!

   This is a common narrative I’ve heard for a number of years now, that the big record labels and movie studios are too set in their ways and incapable of being innovative and just aim to stifle not just novel new business models that use the internet but to control the whole infrastructure.
