We had an experience with BBC World News when making “The Oracle with Max Keiser” that was reminiscent of the censoring discussed in the complaint mentioned. Those who think that the BBC is impartial are dead wrong. At least with Fox News, the propaganda is in your face and you’d have to be a complete moron to miss it. At the BBC, the propaganda agenda is presented more subtly and therefore some might argue even more insidious (and oh aren’t we a sucker for that British accent). Considering that the UK license fee payer pays to be lied to it’s also quite shameful. Having said that, what I can tell you is that as bad as the BBC is, RTE of Ireland is completely shambolic and even worse. RTE is truly state sanctioned scum that does nothing but lie to people 24/7.

Five years ago or so, I was visiting UK and watched the domestic BBC 6 O’clock News. It was full of pro-war slant and spin, very similar to CNN in the states. Then during a story about Hugo Chavez and Venezuela they had an “expert” from Chatham House (so-called think tank). With a straight face the woman said that Chavez was a “dangerous dictator”. A full-blown lie. Chavez won landslide elections in EU, UN and Carter Center observed elections. The USA and UK don’t even have that electoral credibility.
And of course BBC has been pro-Zionism for a long time. The spin and lies keep coming.
The one thing still good on BBC are the Adam Curtis documentaries on BBC2 and other good docs, however the news is garbage.
Only good thing about the BBC is “In Our Time” and that mad Sherlock series. BBC news and current affairs is censorship and propaganda all the way. I cannot stand watching or listening to the BBC anymore.
Those idiots also banned the Sex Pistols’ “God Save the Queen”. A lot of good it did to stop the song from becoming a hit.

So, if a journalist wanted to discuss ****, but can’t say the word **** because it is censored, that makes it difficult to talk about the conflict between Israel and ****, or even mention the plight of the ****. They can mention banksters and their Ponzi schemes, bailouts by government of financial institutions and European countries, that are nothing more than money laundering filling the accounts of creditors who created the problems in the first place with their gambling, but they can not mention ****. Too bad, I’m sure **** would be of interest both to ****, and **** needs international assistance.
The only two current affairs programs I can think of off the top of my head that offer a semblance of unbiased opinion on public tele is Question Time (BBC) and Frontline (RTE). The only reason they dont spout as much corporatist or pro-Israeli/neocon shite is because the audience make a sizeable contribution and they’re hardly ever in favour of previously mentioned dogma. Yet these same audiences go out and vote for tweedle dum & tweedle dee neo-liberal parties who rob their money and give it to bankers…….every single time.
Whenever there is a more critical moment in the U.S. thought stream, usually involving military conflict or trauma, we are always dosed with a bit of the blighty tongue in msm broadcast. In the past three years with the financial turbulence at full tilt boogie we are seeing, and more significantly, hearing them more and more. CNN and Fox are big time pushers of the soothing tones of proper english and someone’s version of order.

I watch RT every day and I haven’t seen any Georgia bashing for at least the last 10 days.
But I do agree that every news channel is biased, even though RT is the least, especially compared to the BBC, CNN, Fox News, Al Jazeera and all other MSM.
The BBC was state propaganda from it’s inception. It started in 1924 when there were severe labour unrest. It was used to depict union leaders & strikers as communist subversives, enemies of the state and anarchists. They also use a system called the D notice. This is a form of self censorship. the wording of it is so vague that journalists just won’t report all sorts of things because they might be infringing. A good example is a long running D notice against any reporting of pedophile rings by politicians, Judges, council members and senior policeman.
Everything changed for the worse in 2003. Tony B.liar stepped in to change management after the beeb broadcast some embarrassing stuff about David Kelly and the fake WMD threat from Iraq. Since then, it’s been tightly under control by “Friends of Israel”. Even the license fee collection agency is an Israeli company.
Also on a D notice is the lawful rebellion movement. (They are a “threat to national security”). The threat is that they are pointing out criminality and fraud in high places and that the TV license is not actually enforceable due to a lack of contract.
