TRIBLER! TRIBLER! TRIBLER! For many this could be the solution movie and music pirates have been waiting for. Essentially it leaves no accountability for website owners.

This couldn’t have come at a better time since Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has launched a second attack in an attempt to censor the Internet.

The bills SOPA and PIPA embattled access to websites worldwide that provided bootleg materials and pirated products like movies and music but both were shelved back in January.

Now the bills have taken a new form according to Reid, and will soon be pushed as cybersecurity legislation.

While lawmakers are dreaming of a censored web, many believe Tribler will be a true nightmare for them.

As you may recall, the war on online piracy was made mainstream when Napster was being sued by the Recording Industry Association of America in the 90s and since then the piracy platform has metamorphosed into the current platform.

  1. Sounds like a honey trap to me.

  2. microhousehold

    Never-ending story this is.
    Looks like an interesting development.

  3. I’m very positive to this.
Have anyone tried it? If you have, what is your experience with the program?

  4. Silly Americans.
There is no oil on the internet!

I’m amazed that the idiots that are trying to push through SOPA/PIPA/ACTA/etc. don’t realize that ”piracy” will never die, but they will!!! :-D

  5. With Netflix, you can watch unlimited movies per month for as little as $10. There are kiosks that rent movies for $1. With Zip DVD you can rent movies for about $2.50 each.

But no. That’s too expensive! People want movies for FREE! And they are willing to scrap copyright laws in order to get free movies. And they same low-lifes also want free music and free software! And they whine like little brats when the government tries to crack down on copyright violations.

  6. Cant find anything with this Tribler, but i am not looking for hollywood junk…

  7. Don’t be so quick to trust it. I would be interested to know how you guys came across this “news”.

As for netflix Canuckistan, hollywood is making record profits, 10 bucks for unlimited movies huh..I believe that used to be called commercial-free cable television.

  8. It’s P2P – a lot like Bitcoin, in its way..
