I challenge the Mafia to come up with a better scam than these banksters.

I quote the post-modern philosopher, Homer J. Simpson: “It’s funny ’cause it’s true!”

Ah, check out the founder of Patrick’s magazine: Daniel Pipes.
This guy was on crack in the 1970s when he was at the CIA making all sorts of outlandish sh*t up about the Soviets.

Ireland voted down the Treaty of Nice.
France and the Netherlands voted down the European Constitution.
Ireland voted down the Treaty of Lisbon.
So which is worse? to be raped by unelected rulers or by the government you voted in?

@ P.W., I can top that quite easily. If I had to quote Homer Simpson from memory it would be:

It’s just so hard to add any commentary to this situation. It really is such an obviously gargantuan deception that it’s hard to apply just one type of classic fraud, and yet it seems to feature all known frauds simultaneously.
It’s like an inverse bait and switch where the buyer ends up paying for the more expensive option than option advertised, not even getting that, then getting mugged on the way of the store, then getting thrown in jail when the mugger calls the police.
In the meantime the story carried by the media is ‘shopper wins lottery and goes on spending spree’.
The News Headlining by the media ensures nobody is interested or cares beyond ‘lucky bastard’.
I don’t think this is a master plan perpetrated and executed, I think it just the worst aspects of greed and lack of social conscience.
As Thatcher said in the 80′s; there is no such thing as society, there are only individuals. So here we are. We live in a world of scumfuckers.

Whatever the EU was, it is now an evil concept and institution. I bet you the historical and hysterical irony is that by choking Greece to save the EU, they are actually condemning the EU. I for one never thought I would see the European countries colluding with the neoliberals to enact a very EU coup.
The EU is doomed.

And the end game is all about saving the dollar and screwing the Euro. The Wall Street banks must be laughing all the way home.

The end game is about keeping the end game bouncing back an forth so that the game doesn’t reach an end.

@Flopot
This bailout was never meant to save the EU, it is meant to save a few German and French banks from going bankrupt because they hold too much Greek sovereign debt.
The EU has become the EUSSR, a dictatorship without the gulags, for now, that is run by unelected comrades from the European Commissariat.
I feel sorry for the Greek people, because they have become debt slaves to a few banksters from the Holy Troika (EU, ECB, IMF). I just hope Spain and Portugal, or rather their people, will learn from this tragedy and prevent a similar one in their countries.

You’ll know Roy.. He sang ‘Have a Cigar’ on Floyd’s Wish You Were Here
This is about the most relevant and most brilliant rock track you have never heard.
Just please.. let’s leave this world as clean as when we came
What-me-worry?
111 tons of Greek gold to be divvied up – only then can Greece leave the EU.
proxyoflove
111 tons of gold, sure, but how much is an ounce of Acropolis going to be worth? Nice bit of Parthenon.. Hell yeah, why not just whore it all out and keep the Greeks as gatekeepers.

What is it about debt slavery that people still don’t get?
How much, allegedly, does each American citizen now “owe”?
Does any body really think the USA is not on the same path as the Greeks?

Does any body really think the USA is not on the same path as the Greeks? Robert Mockan
Greece’s problem is that it is not monetarily sovereign as the US is. We will always be able to pay debts denominated in a currency we can create at will. A gold standard for the US would change that.
Robert Mockan
@ F Beard
If “we” can always pay debts created out of thin air, then why do “we” owe anybody any money?
F. Beard
then why do “we” owe anybody any money? Robert Mockan
According to MMT, the sovereign debt of a monetarily sovereign nation is ITSELF a form of money except it pays interest. To pay off that sovereign debt then would be as simple as exchanging a non-interest paying form of new money (fiat) for the bonds.
Sovereign debt of a monetarily sovereign nation is a scam designed to give the rich and the banks a risk-free return at everyone else’s expense. Hamilton as much as admitted that in the case of the US. His reasoning was that it would buy the support of the rich for the fledgling US Government. That need is long gone.
F. Beard
@RM,
The point is that since sovereign debt is ALREADY money then exchanging it for brand new fiat should not be inflationary. In fact, it should be deflationary since no interest would be required to be paid on the new fiat.
Robert Mockan
@ F Beard
Unfortunately the Greeks do not have that way out. But let us get down to the nitty gritty of it. “We” , the people, are put in hock as taxpayers, in that we “owe” the money. But as a sovereign the USA , the STATE, can have money created out of thin air, so why do “we” owe anybody anything?
F. Beard

We don’t owe, except brand new fiat. But why would the bond holders want a non-interest paying form of money (fiat) when they have an interest paying form of money (sovereign debt)?
Like I said, it’s a scam, invented long ago.

I thinks the people know they’ve been sold a pup.
The Greek Politicians don’t give a shit, the Troika don’t give a shit.
The only thing that matters is Germany and France are Bailed, if Greece doesn’t give them any money they can’t afford to Bail Greece out!!
The greeks should contanct the Mafia and have these people whacked one by one until sanity is restored.
Robert Mockan
@ F. Beard
Yes, a scam it is. More than that today it has become the primary social control mechanism. The debt based monetary system made all the crises possible, that are created and used by the insane oilgarchs to implement their agendas.
The Greeks should have taken the damn armories, and either forced their government to default on all debts, or install a government that would recognize the wishes of the people. Sure the gravy train, for what it was, is over. But Greece has 8000 miles of coastline, and a population of 11,000,000 people. More than adequate to cover the food and water situation. Tourism could have enabled a fresh start without banksters.
Things would heave tight, but better than being slaves for the next 20 years.
F. Beard
@RM,
Yep. It sounds like Greece won’t starve.
Greece would be an excellent place for the overthrow of the usury for counterfeit money scheme to start. Aristotle wrote against usury long ago.
Robert Mockan
@ F. Beard
Say, that is not a bad idea. Perhaps when the Greeks realize they can form alliances with other countries, and other banking systems using their own money, they might see their way clear to leading. I wonder how much of their existing tourism was from Iran, Russia, China, African countries? They could certainly have made excellent deals with Iran to have them come in a form a banking system without usury. Offer discounts for tourists from approved countries not bent on their enslavement. So many possibilities!
Too bad they lost their gold. Should have brought it out and made dinnerware for their best hotels.

Its because the rapists have very small genitals and are fast blowers. Soon Greece will be pregnant with a bouncing baby derivative scam. Then the people will know that they were raped.
