Nottingham UK and the local authority is trying in vain to evict Occupy Nottingham from the Old Market Square. What’s particularly interesting is that the Square is gifted land and so a Royal Decree would be required to change the legal status of the land – i.e., the city council has no basis on which to claim possession. David Degraw…..what a horrible interview. Could you possibly be less convincing, provide less information or be more vague on all fronts?

If you want to be the face of Occupy, you had damn_well_better pick up your game and do more than hem and haw with generalizations about how *people* are stating to wake up, and the movement is gaining recognition blah blah blah, and we’re organizing and planning….blah blah. Event blah, organizing blah, amazing blah….The Powers That Be are going to eat your lunch and throw your ass into solitary detainment while you can hardly create a coherent thought. LAME.

With dullards like this at the helm, the Occupy movement it is doomed to failure. Throw this bum out and find somebody who can at least organize an entire sentence.

I’m frankly aghast at this human spectacle of inertia.

The largely brainwashed US population will never rise up and if they unexpectedly would they would face an army of cops, the US mercenary army and as a last resort the private army of Blackwater/Xe/Academi. The unofficial US mafia would even go as far as to nuke an uprise and they have the psychopathic goon squad to execute it in place.

Once you, you know, notice how many times DeGraw uses the words “you know” speaking in the interview it is, you know, excruciating on the nerves to watch. I didn’t count them, but I reckon he was into the hundreds. I’ll bet you he doesn’t even know he’s doing it.

I remain unconvinced that this man is a major player in the 99% revolution. He used the word “sustainability” several times, I think in the economic sense, it would be nice to know what he means by this as I am now forced to scrutinize anyone that uses this word since TPTB made it an official meme. A 3rd world poverty ridden totalitarian hell-hole with a small super elite class on top could be pretty sustainable.

Couldn’t help but notice the negative tone apart from @YC and @ Economic Survivor.
The rest of you Guys just seem to be keeping the conversation on a bleak and pedantic level lacking in Vision. We have a phrase here in the UK “Pussy” – and it doesn’t mean what you might be thinking….

Poor Max seems to be like the “Sin Eater” at present.

Staggering how people are living in the woods. I know Occupy can do it, as they don’t really have a choice – evolve or die (literally or figuratively) if they wish to change the Political scene and the World for the better. But as people are more stressed and have nothing to lose, they might finally lose their fear. It doesn’t have to be violent. Yes, the Native Americans were wiped out – lets face it. Blacks died, we did. But so? If people are not willing to live with some passion, they will die in disgrace. Materialistic some may be – but Occupy could reach them, as deep deep down, we know right from wrong. The alternative will be well, pretty bad. I saw a tiny clip of Naomi Klein speaking on this at Occupy. It was moving. We may be dreamers, but better than be, well, WIMPS!

You know what people say about crabs in a bucket? One tries to climb out and the rest pull him in. Crabs are also hard on the outside but soft on the inside with no spines.

If people took the time to READ his stuff, they would see that his message is perfectly clear both the defining of the problem and it`s solution.

The peaceful revolutions in 89 were successful because people gathered together, sat down and refused to comply. That was it, that`s all they had to do. Brought the governments to their kness. It took 2 years.

It`s a non-leaderless movement, so he is not at the helm and never claimed to be.
But he was there from the start, with just a handful of friends. Look what happened!

Now they are just waiting for the spring because it`s fucking cold in New York in the winter, unlike the middle east.

Indeed! In my Mum’s country the phrase is “Crab Barrel!” Am a bit preoccupied at present, but will try to read some of his stuff – because what they could potentially do is just soo important.
