The Nazis created phantom enemies as propaganda to justify their authoritarian policies and structures. Even more deadly is the fact that many Nazis believed these these phantoms were real!
Have the US neoliberals and neocons created similar ghostly opponents that must be fought with the “liberty of terror”?

The US went one better in 9/11 – they went to the bother of creating the fake enemy in the form of Al Qaeda. I think I read somewhere that the guys responsible for PNAC were influenced by some dude called Strauss who explicity called for such a strategy – conjure up an external threat to justify your policies.
Just like the Nazis, many US neoliberals and neocons probably really believe in their ideological nonsense. But the real rats like Rumsfeld and Cheney always gave the game away with their leers – men like that knew f**king rightly it was all about wealth and power.
Anyway, I believe the “Poor” are the phantom enemies of the US neoliberal project. They are the persecuted in that country and fodder for the new privatised “urban gulag” system being setup over there. It is an Orwellian nightmare – “Debt is Good but Poverty is Evil”. You cannot get out of that trap.
Don’t be surprised if they start executing people just for being poor…oh wait…

Why do Americans live in denial? How come good German people did not rise up against Hitler? How come Americans did not rise up en masse to rebel against the destruction of the Bill of Rights and theft of their money and public resources?
Americans fear protesting because to do so means you may get arrested and to get arrested means you no longer qualify for food stamps. The threat of no food keeps the poor from voicing thier issues.
