“Dad, as a good American, believed his newspapers.”
― Upton Sinclair, Oil!
This book was published 90 years ago…things haven’t changed much.
Pretty bleak. If the criminal bankers aren’t rounded up and prosecuted, it sounds like they will be pulling the political pins for their next great distraction – war. When it gets down to it, I wonder how many generals are going to back these bankers?

“The earth is being held up, by the muscular arms of its entrepreneur-plutocrats, like it, or not. The new plutonomy doesn’t need us to make money. It doesn’t need us to spend money, apparently. “Emergng markets” are going to replace us any day now and then, as far as Wall Street is concerned, we can all live in tents under bridges. This is capitalism. It’s not their problem.” [gleaned from Citigroup manifesto 2005]
…. 2012/a sociopathic dream – is this what we are experiencing??
So, our default, M.O. …LOL Prosecute, but keep the machinery for the maintenance of kings in place… yes, that has worked well, according to the evidence as it has presented over 3,550 years; now hasn’t it? A lot of very smart people, over the millennium have tried and failed, proving that we are beyond our limitations when forced to act within an environment of misinformation.
Great show! Greg spells it out in plain english much as Ellen did with her recent article about JPM. No brain-bleed. Missourri huh? I think I bought a used car from Greg about thirty years ago. A bit rusty now but hey, it’s still a good runner! I call it The Dread Pirate Roberts…
I traded my cow for some beans though, back then.
I miss my cow…
@John Robb … Just under the wire – time was getting short /thank u, LOL
@evolutis – Thanks for being out here in the middle with me. [No Gerry Rafferty be referenced lest we be stuck.] The JJW was precious…
‘and when I die I swear don’t put no stones on my grave
I’m sorry ought to be the epitaph, but spell on the stage
don’t send a preacher down to tighten up my pants…’
I saw JJW at both ends of his spectrum. I saw him actually fall obliviously off his stool, and I saw him once when he was so white knucklin’ sober that he stopped mid-song to chew a new asshole into an audience member who was laughing and apparently not paying enough attention to his performance of MrBojangles.
You are obviously a mystic. You posted the title track to the first JJW recording that I acquired as newly released. It basically became my first personal theme song as a young adult. It now reminds me of Max or even moreso Jim Willie. Someday I hope to make it to…
For some reason I imagine meeting Jim Willie there.
This one’s for Max and Stacy…
