118 degrees. Sick AGW f****** scorched by their own denial.

UPDATES:  As of March 2012, there had been  943 new record highs had been broken or tied across the U.S. compared to just 9 record lows. That’s a ratio of 14:1. Presumably this latest round of new record highs will continue this extreme ratio.

jaysus lads, would you not relax a little? saying things like ‘theres a special place in hell reserved for AGW deniers’ is only going to polarise.

I`m looking forward to the day when E-mails are leaked from traders at the big banks to their buddies at weather modification inc such as this one

“Psst, can you keep the jet stream up north, lay off the daytime chemtrailing, step up the nightime chemtrailing over Kansas? I`ve got a little weather derivative bet riding on it. I`ll owe you big time, maybe a giant bottle of Bollinger, BUT DON`T TELL ANYBODY!”

Yes it would be nice, but there are a lot of people that like polarization. The misinformation super highway has provided a perfect opportunity for them to vent their spleen.

I don’t mind the AGW deniers very much, but being a conservation oriented person, I am dismayed when people that claim to accept the possibility of AGW go off the rails.

I expect the blame game to intensify considerable as the peak everything scenario affects more and more people.

AGW deniers’ should be fed to the lions and burned at the stake as the green religion becomes ever more the accepted dogma. Any evidence that the sun is actually ‘also’ warming Mars should be burned at the feet of the ‘deniers’ charred bodies. The 99% can then be taxed and regulated by the 1% in peace. Then the 99% will know their place.

From the Toronto Sun James Lovelock.

    Green ‘drivel’ exposed
The godfather of global warming lowers the boom on climate change hysteria

Two months ago, James Lovelock, the godfather of global warming, gave a startling interview to msnbc.com in which he acknowledged he had been unduly “alarmist” about climate change.

    The implications were extraordinary.

Lovelock is a world-renowned scientist and environmentalist whose Gaia theory — that the Earth operates as a single, living organism — has had a profound impact on the development of global warming theory.

Unlike many “environmentalists,” who have degrees in political science, Lovelock, until his recent retirement at age 92, was a much-honoured working scientist and academic.

His inventions have been used by NASA, among many other scientific organizations.

Lovelock’s invention of the electron capture detector in 1957 first enabled scientists to measure CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) and other pollutants in the atmosphere, leading, in many ways, to the birth of the modern environmental movement.

Having observed that global temperatures since the turn of the millennium have not gone up in the way computer-based climate models predicted, Lovelock acknowledged, “the problem is we don’t know what the climate is doing. We thought we knew 20 years ago.” Now, Lovelock has given a follow-up interview to the UK’s Guardian newspaper in which he delivers more bombshells sure to anger the global green movement, which for years worshipped his Gaia theory and apocalyptic predictions that billions would die from man-made climate change by the end of this century.

Lovelock still believes anthropogenic global warming is occurring and that mankind must lower its greenhouse gas emissions, but says it’s now clear the doomsday predictions, including his own (and Al Gore’s) were incorrect.

He responds to attacks on his revised views by noting that, unlike many climate scientists who fear a loss of government funding if they admit error, as a freelance scientist, he’s never been afraid to revise his theories in the face of new evidence. Indeed, that’s how science advances.

Among his observations to the Guardian:

    (1) A long-time supporter of nuclear power as a way to lower greenhouse gas emissions, which has made him unpopular with environmentalists, Lovelock has now come out in favour of natural gas fracking (which environmentalists also oppose), as a low-polluting alternative to coal.

As Lovelock observes, “Gas is almost a give-away in the U.S. at the moment. They’ve gone for fracking in a big way. This is what makes me very cross with the greens for trying to knock it … Let’s be pragmatic and sensible and get Britain to switch everything to methane. We should be going mad on it.” (Kandeh Yumkella, co-head of a major United Nations program on sustainable energy, made similar arguments last week at a UN environmental conference in Rio de Janeiro, advocating the development of conventional and unconventional natural gas resources as a way to reduce deforestation and save millions of lives in the Third World.)

    (2) Lovelock blasted greens for treating global warming like a religion.

“It just so happens that the green religion is now taking over from the Christian religion,” Lovelock observed. “I don’t think people have noticed that, but it’s got all the sort of terms that religions use … The greens use guilt. That just shows how religious greens are. You can’t win people round by saying they are guilty for putting (carbon dioxide) in the air.”

    (3) Lovelock mocks the idea modern economies can be powered by wind turbines.

As he puts it, “so-called ‘sustainable development’ … is meaningless drivel … We rushed into renewable energy without any thought. The schemes are largely hopelessly inefficient and unpleasant. I personally can’t stand windmills at any price.”

    (4) Finally, about claims “the science is settled” on global warming: “One thing that being a scientist has taught me is that you can never be certain about anything. You never know the truth. You can only approach it and hope to get a bit nearer to it each time. You iterate towards the truth. You don’t know it.”

  8. stacyherbert

Interesting that James Lovelock has always been a favourite of the denier crowd; he’s always been bonkers when he was shouting crazy things before and when he is shouting them now; as you see, we’ve never linked to him in all the years here on Maxkeiser.com: http://maxkeiser.com/?s=james+lovelock

Because, although a scientist, for the past decade, he’s only ever been a guy with an opinion; on matters of science, we just deal in facts (like reports of new all time highs being reached or Arctic sea ice volumes and/or extent being at new lows) and peer reviewed research (which Lovelock has not done in decades)

I’m glad he and Gore are there, however, for people who need to resolve the cognitive dissonance in their lives. It must be very difficult when the facts and reality all around you are piling up so painfully against your fantasies. When two guys with opinions are all you have, however, maybe it’s time to just resolve the cognitive dissonance by accepting the facts and getting rid instead of the delusions?

    @Stacy,

I cannot be sure, but I tend to believe that I am certainly one of the staunch supporters of the scientific method and it’s implications on this forum. Having said that, I must say that cherry picking extreme events the way you do is no proof that AGW is real (I think it is, by the way). It seems both parties use this tactic: when winter is colder than usual as happened recently in western Europe, the denier celebrate! I almost never express my opinion about this subject because I am grossly incompetent…

Register: Antarctic ice shelves not melting
    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/06/25/antarctic_ice_not_melting/

Twenty-year-old models which have suggested serious ice loss in the eastern Antarctic have been compared with reality for the first time – and found to be wrong, so much so that it now appears that no ice is being lost at all.

“Previous ocean models … have predicted temperatures and melt rates that are too high, suggesting a significant mass loss in this region that is actually not taking place,” says Tore Hattermann of the Norwegian Polar Institute, member of a team which has obtained two years’ worth of direct measurements below the massive Fimbul Ice Shelf in eastern Antarctica – the first ever to be taken.

    Stacy,

Don’t worry about Kansas, Brownback’s got that covered. You see, the temps are the fault of all those evil females like that 10-year-old Jezebel who enticed her uncle into raping her. When she got pregnant, she demanded an abortion as a form of birth control ‘cuz that is what the Girl Scouts taught her. It is a punishment from Gawd.

Now when Kansas demands that 10-year-old rape victims be forced to die in child birth as a punishment for their evil nature, God will reverse the high temps. This is all true, never mind science, ‘cuz the Bibul tells Brownback so.

  15. stacyherbert

@Sirius Black – lol, glad the satirical newspaper The Register helps you get through your denial; good one, but you missed one of the funniest lines from article – “Crafty boffins got elephant seals to survey for them.”

  16. stacyherbert

@Tamir – we report weather extremes; new all time day time and night time high temperatures, both extreme precipitation events and extreme drought events and new extreme weather patterns are what the models predicted; in terms of the cold winters over the past few years over Europe, these are also predicted by the changing ocean currents and densities – such predicted changes were the basis of his 2004 film, The Day After Tomorrow; funnily enough, deniers certainly were aware of the film and mocked the environmentalist FILMMAKER for his outlandish story based on research about ocean currents; when this, in fact, happens, that temperatures are altered over certain regions due to ocean patterns (driven by the warming arctic and the wind patterns and ice flow that have altered due to this) albeit not in such an over the top fashion, the deniers screech that climate scientists has never seen this coming (even though they laughed at Emmerich’s crazy film 7 years earlier) . . . . strange days

  17. Steven Rowlandson

Quit whining about forest fires, CO2 and Global warming Max and Stacy.
CO2 doesn’t cause global warming and there is not too much CO2 in the atmosphere.
The sun is the source of global warming and you enviros can’t do a damned thing about it.
CO2 is good for plants and with out enough of it plants won’t grow and you won’t be able to breath and with out plant growth you won’t eat either. Are you two cannibals?
Forest fires may not be good for real estate assets but they are good for the environment because fire recycles potash and CO2 and clears out the dead wood and promotes new growth and that means more food for wild life. Forest fires are good for job creation in fire fighting, construction and reforestation. You have to look for the goods in every situation.

Last but not least 7 billion people on earth can not and will not have any effect on the climate unless they had an all out nuclear war and burned most of the world down to bedrock and trigger a nuclear winter. Hell is for carbon taxers and carbon credit traders and their allies. Such people would tax and murder the whole world for the sake of money , power and their lord lucifer.

  18. Kevin Eshbach

I still amazed at how people can’t even remotely accept how every action we take causes a reaction that in the long run might not be in our best interest. For example – Dam up a river and that will affect the water flow patterns and any wild life that depends on the river.

  19. Jayme

    Article 1
“Forecasters say back-to-back La Niñas are partly to blame.”

Not global warming. Death Valley normally gets to 120 F and has been recorded as high as 134 F in 1913 (before global warming). 118 in Kansas was not attributed to global warming. Records for Norton Dam only go back to 1962 when the weather station was installed. I suspect than many of these new ‘records’ are from new machines installed recently. In order to know the significance of the number of new records we need to know a great deal more about the numbers of stations coming on line and when and exactly what the variance of the climate is at each location. Availability of this data metric is unlikely. Some people still have jobs. Some of those jobs are to make new weather stations. The first two data points measured by every one of those weather stations is a new ‘record high’ and ‘record low.’ The fact that there are now a record number of devices per year being installed may have something to do with the record number of highs statistic. (not being facetious)

    http://weather-warehouse.com/WeatherHistory/PastWeatherData_NortonDam_Norton_KS_June.html

    Article 2
“The Environment Agencies, which monitors rainfall levels as part of its brief to avoid droughts, …”

“…the last three months have seen more rainfall than at any time since 1910 when the first readings were made. ”

“Levels at all but three reservoirs are classed as normal or higher for this time of year, while groundwater levels are largely improving after two dry winters in a row left much of England in drought conditions. ”

LOL – the Environment Agencies monitor rainfall to avoid drought?
Before global warming supposedly really got started the article says there was record rainfall greater than what has been seen in the last three months.

The article only makes claims of weather systems as cause.

    Article 3
“Weather experts are saying this could end up being the wettest June on record.”

With only one more day left in June they are saying it “could end up being the wettest June” not “is” the wettest June.

    Article 4
This is likely a continuation of the arctic dipole anomaly which undergoes variations from oscillatory to dipole behaviors and may be linked to climate change. I don’t know how long they’ve known about the oscillations or been monitoring but the dipole state does appear to have become a prevalent mode recently. It’s hard to tell since you have to pay $25 to read this peer reviewed article that was funded by public dollars.

“Although various contributing factors have been examined, the fundamental physical process, which orchestrates these contributors to drive the acceleration and the latest extreme event, remains unknown.”

Recent radical shifts of atmospheric circulations and rapid changes in Arctic climate system
    http://www.agu.org/pubs/crossref/2008/2008GL035607.shtml

The scientists appear to present the opinion (right or wrong) that it is climate change related so from the little I can get out of the abstract, this is not an unbiased report. This is no problem since it is clear in the report what they think. If one looks at oscillations of systems such as the earth’s atmosphere, these behaviors don’t simply go on forever. They do shift with time and without having long term records, it’s difficult to go back and understand the long term behavior of the arctic oscillation. The dipole behavior may have a periodicity or it could be chaotic.

    Article 5
Topeka Kansas was 110 in 1980 so I don’t understand what the significance of this report would be. I expect that though there are record temperatures, as mentioned in the article we again would have to go back and see how many stations were installed and what the local mean temperature and variance were to see if this meaningful. Looking back to 1960 numbers, there does not appear to be an upward trend at Topeka. I expect this is likely almost everywhere. The ‘record’ highs are probably (needs to be checked) at locations where relatively new monitoring equipment has been installed. We need to know more about how the national weather service is determining these ‘record highs.’

    Article 6
Reading figure caption “A copy of the front page of The Nashville Tennessean on July 28, 1952, the day Nashville previously set the record for hottest day ever. / Tennessean archives”

I don’t know how far back the Nashville records go but clearly, this year’s record is not a record at all since it was hotter in 1952. Same problem exists with reading the other statistics.

I was going to go for a walk this morning but it’s too hot outside. ;-)

There’s an abstract at http://www.agu.org/pubs/crossref/pip/2012GL051012.shtml “geophysical research letters”. It’s kind of delphic but it does mention “low basal melting” which I guess means “not much.”

  23. Tamir

    @Stacy,

With the risk of annoying a large number of people, I want to express my astonishment as to how negative a lot of folks treat the subject of climate engineering. This is a wonderful thing; can you imagine us being able to burn as much fossils fuels as we want without destroying the atmosphere? This is an exciting subject that is, I am afraid, is out of our technological reach at the moment. It also has obvious implications for other planets in the solar system such as mars. Exciting stuff.

  24. hans

Is it the Global Warming thing that is turning much of the USA into a fiery hell?

Maybe, but doing a small sampling of weather from other parts of the globe shows no hellish heat waves in the Northern Hemisphere.

Maybe their is some type of God or deity letting the USA know that it doesn’t like us being the world’s #1 terrorist state, raining death and destruction around the world and using the excuse of the FALSE FLAG/INSIDE JOB of 9/11 to kill Muslims at Israel’s behest or to stir up fake revolutions, to ‘liberate’ the oppressed.
Like the 50,000 or so Libyans we ‘liberated’ from living by killing them, stealing their gold, setting up a central Federal Reserve bank and stealing their rich crude oil.

And the Syrians we’re killing, using the same old BS about their needing to be ‘liberated’ from their dictator.

Guess killing people is one way of liberating them, but we can’t keep wrecking the world for the benefit of Israel, Wall Street and the Federal Reserve.

Like they say, “Karma is a bitch.”

  25. Sirius Black

    @StacyHerbert,

Oh dear another condescending article about “why the great unwashed are so confused.” The article did, to its credit, concede that the facts in the AGU paper are indeed what they are, and that the NASA/inSAR data only go back two years.

Actually I’d like to see more level-headed debate on the subject but it seems there’s too much shouting on both sides — if it isn’t Al Gore telling me “the science is in!” so cough up his carbon taxes, it’s Big Oil telling me solar power is a waste of time (funny the Pentagon doesn’t think so, to read George Friedman’s The Next 100 Years).

Alas it is my burden to be a skeptic — it is my lot in life to be called a right-wing nut by “liberals” (i.e. statists who want guvmint control over everything) and branded a left-wing hippie by “conservatives” (radicals who tear up the Constitution).

@Tamir – I think the geo-engineering is a radically stupid idea; I know this is the plan that Exxon and politicians etc think they will fall back on to save their grandchildren; but as with all complex systems, trying to rig and engineer them to your own liking often results in destabilization and eventual collapse; and whether it is the US or another nation that is the empire at the time, I don’t want a group of psychos in charge of determining whether or not the region of the world I live in happens to have enough sunlight that month or year; look at all the embargoes we enforce around the world that have killed millions over the past two decades, imagine if they can also just ‘turn on’ the aerosol mirrors over your nation in order to destabilize your government the empire doesn’t like?

  27. kdt

@stacy we just deal in facts (like reports of new all time highs being reached or Arctic sea ice volumes and/or extent being at new lows) and peer reviewed research (which Lovelock has not done in decades)

sorry but “peer’ review is NOTHING but the “POPE telling people what there alowed to think” it serves NO purpose other than to protect vested intrests who have ALREADY published from being contredicted by any new reasearch! and that has resulted in a 100 year dark age in wich no new sience has happened just LOTS of wasted money (we will be remembered as the “concreet dougnut culture” and “tecnical” advances in the “aplication” of what people like tesla discovered are NOT new science

QUIT messing shit up in the first place! seems to me a supiorior method but YOUR life style prohibits this aproch and that personal investment prevents you from seeing that you and those like you are the problem you REQUIRE population “inflation” to sustain “the societal ponzy scheme” and that POPULATION is the issue not there biproducts the POPULATION its self!!! it is cause AND effect in 99% of the isues we face and it HAS to go down! and will as soon as we quit CHEATING the system we live in, by using fosil fules to grow food THIS is the isue and it is NOT the carbon it is the extra FOOD wich we make in to yet more people WHAT IS THE DISCONECT HERE???? we get this math when it is RATS in a lab or mice in a grain silo but we REFUSE to self aply the OBVOIUS lesson! and why ?were not STUPID! it is LABOR the “elites”want lots of CHEAP labor to exploit that simple ! and untill that stops there is no real way to fix this other than bandaids over “track marks” on a planet that will more and more resemble a crackwhore that NO one will bother to care about at all. @Stacy,

Let’s agree to disagree on this. Every technology can and will eventually be abused and geoengineering is no different. Does that mean technological progress in some fields should be halted/abandoned because “it is not moral”? This attitude reminds me of the Bush junior approach to stem cell research…! I do not believe any treaty to reduce emissions will be agreed upon much let adhered to. We need solutions, risky or not! As to your comment regarding sanctions: yes, sanctions are usually an idiotic idea – there is no such thing as “smart” sanctions.

@hans calli is so far BELOW avg on temps so far this year at least in the central vally and foothills. warm to hot but NOT blistering hot yet and no long streaches on hot days so far eather!! and the G in agw means all those temps avg out wich is why ACCUAL agw experts(that has got to be an oxymoron) STATE that “weather events” are NOT agw but stacy IGNORES the agw SUPORT documents along wiht the laws of thermodynamics wich make it quit clear that CO2 nor ANY other gas can do what AGW claims and in fact “water vapor” is a documented REFRIGERENT gas used in “evaporative cooling”

@stacy BTW thermo dynamices also state that ANY rise in temp will increase the rate of thermal radition. so you tell me the temp at the poles is up, and i say the rate at wich we lose heat to space has increased and with the sun having sputtered out this cycle that energy is NOT being replaced there for over all temps are going DOWN not up as you can’t spend more and take in less with out redusing the amount in the account over all. simple math and basic accounting also even in the dead of winter with the poles frozen solid there still orders of magnitude hotter than outer space and there for still radiate heat one of the mental traps here is that WARM is relitive………..to us! nothing elese just OUR comfort zone not some required planetary “norm” that were entitled to maintain (as if we could) we are curently in a declared “ice age” what if all you AGW nut jobs are in fact bucking the planet its self as it RECOVERS from the last ice age!!! that thought EVER cross your mind!!! Article 7

Doesn’t mention climate change or global warming. I looked at the temperature of Colorado Springs from 1948 to 2012. A linear trend fit to this data shows a linear slope of about 0.0246 degrees per year ‘warming’ trend. However, the 90% confidence interval for the data is 0.7338 degrees for the 65 years evaluated. Even on a logarithmic scale, the temperature change in Colorado Springs indicates little or no trend upward or downward. The 101 degree temperature is a singular statistical event and cannot be contextualized into any local temperature trend.

    http://weather-warehouse.com/WeatherHistory/PastWeatherData_ColoradoSpringsMuniArpt_ColoradoSprings_CO_June.html

(incidentally I also looked at Nashville with very similar trend of 0.0026 degree per year)

Rainfall in Indianapolis has a large standard deviation of about 2.08″ with an average rainfall of 4.125″ for the month of June. Of course these statistics are assuming normal distribution and you can’t have negative rainfall so I’m sure these numbers get squished around zero. In any case, the ‘record low’ rainfall is not truly exceptional nor part of a long term dry/wet trend.

    http://weather-warehouse.com/WeatherHistory/PastWeatherData_IndianapolisIntlArpt_Indianapolis_IN_June.html

No numbers for Little Rock. I’m not going to hunt them down but expect a similar non-trend.

    Article 8

“The fire menacing Colorado Springs follows a recent string of suspected arson fires in a neighboring county, but officials said they had no indication that the Waldo Canyon blaze was deliberately set.

Although federal authorities say the fire season got off to an early state in parts of the Northern Rockies, the number of fires and acreage burned nationwide is still below the 10-year average for this time of year, according to fire agency records.”

Unfortunate and possibly malicious but nothing unusual.

    Article 9

“The period from June 2011 to May 2012 was the warmest 12-months since records began (in 1895) in the continental United States.”

Most compelling article of the bunch suggesting global warming. I’d still like to understand better the issues of sampling used over time.

    Determining Global Temperature
    http://www.noaa.gov/features/02_monitoring/weather_stations.html

I don’t like how the surface temperature question over the last 50 years was simply disregarded. The answer to this question should have been referenced to pro and con papers but didn’t.

Without knowing what the problems are associated with long term sampling and accuracy of the weather I don’t think I can accept a dismissal of this question with a hand wave. Who was alive and recording plant growth and ice melt patterns 50 years ago? Not saying it isn’t happening but this answer was dismissive.

A great deal of the older data requires careful consideration. It does look like the measurement uncertainties are smaller than the overall trend according to the following paper but you will have to pay another $25 for that information.

“In earlier periods the uncertainties are larger, but the temperature increase over the twentieth century is still significantly larger than its uncertainty. ”

Uncertainty estimates in regional and global observed temperature changes: A new data set from 1850
    http://www.agu.org/pubs/crossref/2006/2005JD006548.shtml

I don’t know what kind of political pressure NOAA experiences. Science on the institutional scale is not necessarily intuitive to laymen, nor unbiased (ref. Monsanto, or Phillip Morris). Climate change (science), the economy (business), and an agenda for global taxation (politics) are too interwoven and grand in scale to ignore.

I’d have to look more deeply into what the temperature ‘anomaly’ actually means because none of the several cities (Indianapolis, Colorado Springs, or Nashville) mentioned as having record temperatures in the articles listed by this thread show any kind of 50 year trend that would confirm any anomalous rise in temperature.

  37. Jayme

I checked the temperature change of several of the locations listed in the articles:

Colorado Springs. +1.57 degrees F (warming trend) over last 65 years
Nashville -0.13 degrees F (cooling trend) over 50 years
and Indianapolis is -2.1 degrees (cooling trend) over last 64 years

These aren’t consistent with what the NOAA weather anomaly charts show so I’m still not sure what the ‘temperature anomalies’ mean.

@gordo what is your issue with it EXACTLY that your too stupid to understand it too much of a hypicrit to admit it or are you just too LAZY to bother to look outside YOUR safe little box/world
what is pathetic is that YOU think what ANY of us think matters in the face of the ACCUAL math!! dose it look like this abomination of a scocity is going to pull this off? WE are just about to get a FIRST hand lesson in what has KILLED off EVERY classical civilization we have data on! they were ALL “food ponzi schemes” and all ponzies FAIL it is a matmatical CERTAINTY this is in fact an ALL or nothing problem we need TOTAL decentralization. a full 1/3 of energy is used to maintian the “suply chain” required for the “divison of labor” paradigm to funtion at all. “mass production” it self is is only econimical as long as matrials are kept so cheap as to make there production ‘slave’ labor. this is do to the huge amount of WASTE involved and speaking of waste there is NO room in there for clean up either hence ALL these problems seen as AGW

  39. :DMan

@Jayme Spot on brah. Plain and simple information without the atypical psychopathic huff of condescension or name calling.
In many places that temperatures are recorded as a jump, it’s on record that it’s because the weather stations were moved to the middle of a large parking lot as at a Walmart.

I haven’t seen S&M spend so much time in their blog space. Their action has a similar sense to the paid trolls on other blog sites .. trip.
It’s unsettling, but not too surprising, that the newly crowned dynamic duo is now (just as suddenly) operating as shills for the Rothschild carbon ‘credit’ scam. Gotta pay those dues for having your show, right?

BTW – Stacey, you look so much more sparkly without your stage makeup ;-)

It was announced here in Riyadh that temperatures will be in the unprecedented range of 50 to 60(C) degrees in the next two months.

Again, one of prophet Mohammed’s prophecies is that the “Arabian peninsula will be back to meadows and rivers before end of time”. Things are accelerating ever faster towards the end.

What made me a sceptic in 2007 was being told ‘the debate is over’. It was as simple as that. In fact it seemed to me that any ‘scientist’ who would say that was not in fact a real scientist.

Indeed, with that ventricle wide open I found exactly the reasoning I had a gut for. Money, subjectivism, politicians acting as scientists, scientists acting as celebrities, celebrities acting as politicians. VANITY!

Oh I trolled with the best of them.

BUT.. delving deeply I found I had a gut for something else. I could not IGNORE certain basic facts. A simple credibility. A philosophy. A cognitive dissonance.

I won’t post links, I will post you your heart.

You know what I mean.. if you have a gut

In your heart of hearts, you know what I mean.

Us. Humans. Why do you think you are here on this blog.. oh band of brothers.. for he today that sheds his ignorance with me shall be my brother ;)

Scepticism, the pursuit of, has become a VANITY.

And I will have no part of that craving to be correct, the stakes are much to high.

Sceptics.. I was a better sceptic than any of you. And I cringe at the faintest ignorance.. on a subject that threatens to steal a future or condemn a future.

Do you not see the irony? Borrowing into the future? IT MUST STOP. IDEOLOGICALLY.

    Ideologically.

Ideologically. It is all we have. It is the only thing that we can choose. That is why I became

a Sceptic sceptic. So I could call myself a cognitive human being.

So please stop being so precocious in your little lives.. our little lives.. my tiny life.

And by the way, whoever accused who of hate.. it’s GOOD to hate. It’s emotion. Better than pathetic vanity-driven commotion.

    I’m where it’s HAPPENING…there is NO “Scorching”,
other than the fire that got MAGICALLY lit by two exactly simultaneous lightning strikes in terrain that has light to moderate undergrowth.

In Colorado Springs, 3 days before the 4th of July, it’s 94°. Being around 100° on the 4th is absolutely normal.
17 miles up the road it’s 87°. I’m sitting at the keyboard right now with a nice light breeze blowing through the blinds.

Whatever is crawling up your skirt, is most likely weather modification done on purpose.

CO2 does NOT cause this: http://bit.ly/N7Crx5

It’s one thing to actually believe this Global Warming horseshit. (I don’t think you’re that stupid.)

I can even understand using it to drum up fake controversy to keep the web site jumping and active.

But it’s quite another to be an outright God damned liar.
The alarmist, grocery store tabloid level of that kind of misrepresented “information” is just disgusting. Especially from someone who’s as well rounded in many other areas.

Shame, SHAME and IGNOMINY on you.

(Just how much did the freemasons in your family influence you!?!!)

It seems coincidental that the number of sunspots correlates with the rising temperature along with the temperature rise. Increased sunspots is associated with increased solar irradiance in spite of what NASA Hansen claims. The correlation roughly extends across the entire period of time where sun spots and global temperature are compared.

    Solar Activity Proxies
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Solar_Activity_Proxies.png

It is argued by NASA’s James Hansen that “The fact we still see a positive imbalance despite the prolonged solar minimum isn’t a surprise given what we’ve learned about the climate system,” lead researcher James Hansen, director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, said in a statement. “But it’s worth noting, because this provides unequivocal evidence that the sun is not the dominant driver of global warming.” He also said that “the sun is a small but not negligible factor,” in determining the imbalance between solar irradiance and global warming.

NASA Report: Greenhouse Gases, Not Sun, Driving Warming
    http://www.livescience.com/18255-solar-cycle-climate-change-warming.html

There clearly appear to be other factors not included in this study that are not included. I don’t think the correlation between solar irradiance and temperature rise should be so quickly dismissed if for no other reason than the scale of climate change over time that occurs naturally.

No carbon taxes for me, please. I’d prefer to wait for peak oil to kill off the greenhouse gas problem rather than have the PTB make up more schemes that work against most people. Environmental destruction and all this financial fraud appears to be a symptom of a deeper sickness.

If I were going to write a piece on the “veracity” of Global Warming, I know I would diligently seek out only the very finest of sources.
    Such as:

Anchorage Daily News – Near the home of the first, still active and larger than ever haarp array.

    CNN – Hahaha…n^®

The Tennessean – Run by Gannett Publishing – http://www.addictinginfo.org/2012/03/26/wi-gop-resorts-to-harassing-people-for-signing-recall-gannett-commits-felony/

Weather.com – By line, Nick Wiltgen Fresh from class with his P.C, B.S. from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln

The TORONTO Globe and Mail – Playing expert on COLORADO weather. (That I happen to be IN right now and KNOW it’s NOT EVEN CLOSE TO MEDIA DESCRIPTIONS [or economist descriptions either]… from Canada or Nigiria or WHEREEVER.)

The Washington Post – By line, Jason Samenow, who is know for writing nothing but ‘sky is falling’ politically correct reports, over and over and over and over and…
    …and it’s the Washington Post!!! – Hahaha…n^®

The UK sources…well… the CBBC page is a nice Lime-Green and Purple.

Infrared radiation is absorbed by greenhouse gases, which in turn re-radiate much of the energy to the surface and lower atmosphere.

It is NOT limited to CO2, nor it this science – physical chemistry 101 – disputed by any AGW sceptic. I can show you a primer from WUWT if you really want me to lower myself.

So an increase in GGs will lead to an increase in global temperature. In broad brush strokes, this is NOT in question by anyone. Accepted? Yes. Good. let’s continue. No? meh.

GG, especially CO2 have been MUCH greater in the past, yet life – especially photosynthesising plants, have flourished. Accepted? Yes, I thought you’d like that.

    So what’s the problem?

    RATE

    RATE

    yes

The fucking RATE of change. The persistent rate at which we are changing the composition of the GGs in the atmosphere and this is getting MORE profound and will only GET more profound as, e.g. China, industrialises to the level of say G.B. 10 times faster at 100 times the size. (not China’s fault, not India’s fault.. not Brazil’s fault they are chopping down rainforests, it’s the world WE, the West, have defined and must pay? them not to?? Is that not the paradigm?)

THIS is what your precious sceptics IGNORE the most.

The effect of this unprecedented RATE of CHANGE on all ecosystems? Well, you must be scientifically literate.. you tell me.

  50. proxyoflove

    @Jayme,

it all means different things to different people with different attitudes and different opinions. educating yourself in public, well, I do the same so I’m not judging you.

Just addressing briefly the SCs, I suggest the most compelling studies of solar cycles and SSN (sun spot numbers) relate to maunder minimum and the like, SC24 is indeed interesting in it’s poor amplitude and appear-some short frequency pitch, but this isn’t the 17th century when it comes to infrared radiation absorption so is it really relevant? Can anyone be sure? Should we care or shall we care.. is not that the question? If indeed this is a ‘cooling phase’ it will be temporary. Yet we are still seeing record-setting temps, globally. What does that say when the ‘cooling phase’ ends in 20 or 30 years? Is that not an interesting question?

  51. OlympiaLogger

    Proxy of Love,
“Green House Gas” ‘change’, ‘rates’, ‘balances’ or chemical reaction principles of any kind are NOT what they are doing to us.
It has become an externally driven process at this point —–>http://bit.ly/hD7ZY6
What you’re trying to describe i’s irrelevant, it’s not even an issue.
    Get a grip pal!

@Olympia.. yes.. sources.. but can you think for yourself?

    He doesn’t play for Denver.

Even if he did, it’s of no interest to me. Football, like soccer is an infantile waste of time.

And I see you made good use of you advanced degree from the Dunning-Kruger School of Readin’ Stuff.
Those were Max’s Sources and you obviously didn’t even look at them, let alone look into them, and you have the hubris to act as though I’m supposed to actually understand the infantile, jumbled horse-manure. “…yes.. sources.. but can you think for yourself…” You’re a God damned idiot…period.

I can tell you how you avoid cognitive dissonance, you simply turn your already limited cognitive skills OFF and in a visceral vegetative manner, regress back to a preoperational stage. No brain, no accountability.

My logic isn’t formal here, but logic should be consistent under critical scrutiny. I prefer honest science over fear.

There is no indication that developed nation governments around the world are interested in the ecology. It is difficult for me to see where any environmental tax on the people would be to benefit the people through a better ecology and not be turned to serve the corporations.

every summer from max its, “you AGW deniers are going to fry in hell…”. then wait until winter and its, “record cold, things freezing, plants dying..” etc.
so when is max going to come clean and tell us what his vested financial interest is in this AGW hoax?
i love what max and stacey are doing but there is something they are not telling us that they are personally involved in. ask max how many shares in phillip morris (marlboro cigs) he has..

Climate Change is a reality. But it’s not human’s fault.
Human’s are only responsible for focused ecological disasters or ecological abuse.
Some day anthropological climate change hooligans will stumble upon nature’s will.
And then they will say, oh, so after all we didn’t count that much did we?
Regarding scientists, I recommend Anthony Watts, from http://www.wattsupwiththat.com
Voted best science blog on the net, with 120 million views.
He has some interesting responses to the links being provided here.

And now, to the basics regarding this subject:

Polar bears are dissapearing!! Quick donate now!!
Wait, hold on! That affirmation is false?
    http://wattsupwiththat.com/2012/04/05/nunavut-government-study-the-polar-bear-population-is-not-in-crisis-as-people-believed/

Just like the melting ice swindle:
    http://modernsurvivalblog.com/weather-preparedness/13-billion-cubic-feet-of-new-arctic-ice/

Which can be contrasted with this other headline, which shows the direction the new north pole is taking, thus modifiying current ice thicknesses:
    http://modernsurvivalblog.com/pole-shift-2/pole-shift-north-races-south-crawls/

This ultimately is because of the new solar conditions, which affect directly earth.
Nothing new… But when reporting news keep in mind it’s very easy to report just one side of the story so that it looks as it’s something else.
    Ice is melting? True.
But ice is growing as well!
Some areas suffer melting others see their ice increase.
It’s called NATURE. When big solar flare comes around and with it’s EMP fries all our electronics sending our high-tech based society into medieval times, or it’s higher than UV rays fry us, don’t come back to skeptics to say it’s human’s fault.
Don’t mix poisonous gases, liquids, garbage, wastes, deforestation and alikes with natural climatic processes that occur wether we exist or not. That’s the swindle, to put that Al Goreleone talk inside the same treehugga sack.
I care about the environment, but I know my planet is a living entity and so is the sun.
The sun has behavioural cycles, and through out solar calmness periods, people’s thoughts are conditioned to such, until the unexpected happens.
That unexpectancy affects the planet’s magnetic shield inducing not only earthquakes or triggering volcanoes, but modifying climate as the sun is, I think, CLEARLY the number one guilty of photosynthesis, rain and other forms of direct sun interventionism.
So, yes, the sun IS guilty for the recent variations in climate, animal deaths, animal discoveries (because as part of evolution, new species always appear ready for the new conditions), and geophysical events.
CO2 was much much higher back in dinosaurs time, and as a result there was an average global temp. of 25ºC, all greeny planet, because plants eat CO2.
Somehow, somo people seem to be more concerned over CO2 emmision from cars than the rest of invisible elements coming out of exhaust pipes, such as heavy metals or evil oils in between others.

Is CO2 reduction an Eco-Friendly stance?
Hahahha, I couldn’t this of a bigger irrationality!
    Ask the plants I say!
What do they think about Co2 reduction…XD
