Out of respect for dead, why isn’t Warner Brothers pulling Batman from theaters? (France pulled it from Paris, not WB)

In a sickening display of moral degradation, greed and a horrifying insensitivity to the victims of a mass killing – Hollywood; i.e, Warner Brothers – chooses to ignore the dead and carry on as if nothing has happened. Absolutely disgusting.

    Because WB is run by greedy, copyright monopolists who would walk over their dead mothers’ corpses if it would make them a few hundred million dollars.

  2. Robbie777

    At least if americans are killing other americans, they are leaving the rest of the world alone.

  3. SilverPorno

    Not quite Max. I have a friend who works for a design agency and they’ve been producing all the advertising media and ads for this new Batman movie.

    They received a call this morning from WB and were asked to stop work on all of it “until further notice”.

    Doesen’t neoclassical economic theory teach that morals are not the concern of markets, they are externalities? Market preferences are assumed to reflect the morals of society right?

    Corporations, banksters and their politico-puppets and lackeys are always willing to sacrifice innocent people in order to make profits. These necrophagist parasites will stop at nothing to make a buck. Several millions of innocent people have been sacrificed in recent years to make money. That’s how American business/govt. (neofascism) rolls.

    Morals are merely normative values held by society and are automatically reflected in consumer preferences.

    Completely disagree. If you let fkkks realize they can affect change by this kind of behaviour…. You empower them. Don’t allow this kind of behaviour to be rewarded with the kind of outcome they may be looking for. Havent we learned this from the banking system yet?

  6. Zach O

    John Drake, why don’t you start a business and be homeless for a few years while you give all your “profits” away to charity before you hit this post up with played-out commie bs.

  7. SAO

    Why aren’t we pulling our troops out of Iraq? Seems to be a great deal of murder by the US on innocent civilians for almost ten years. Pull the troops from Afghanistan. They did absolutely nothing to the US. The US has paid $3 trillion for that carnage.

    Violence and insanity is running through the entire system. All done by design. What will the US look like when the economy crashes? Is this latest mass murder another psyops? Gun grab? Fear trigger? What is really going on? Pull the movie? I would like to see them pull the government.

  8. JonnyJames

    commie BS? Zacho are you Joe McCarthy? There aint no commies under your bed dude, where have you been the last 20 years? The new Reds Under Your Bed are

  10. Only Because

    I believe killing 12 people “anywhere” in the “world” is wrong. the fact that the World has people inhabiting it that do this every single day has become commonplace…….unless media are able to use the murders and deaths for headline grabbers to make money from, YOU never hear about or care about them.

    Nothings changed folks, except what slant media add or subtract from where ,when , and how they dispense THEIR info to YOU.

    Get real, the “movie” had anything to do with this……seroiusly??? really???

    I’m beginning to believe this “Manchurian candidate” and MK Ultra stuff…I saw a picture of the suspect on TV…where did they get that “Devilish”photo where his hair is messed up a bit to look like Devilish horns.. Where did they get that picture? It’s almost like it was planned…And what’s up with Colorado massacres?

    Wait a minute. A lunatic kills and maims a whole bunch of people, so we need to pull the movie that happened to play when the lunatic killed people from all theaters worldwide? Max, that makes no sense at all.

    It’s denial by proxy, they want to dissociate and protect their god (WB) from the event by denying it for ‘WB’, yet dissociate themselves for making the decision it as if it wasn’t their choice. It was literally a ‘no brainer’. Does that make sense?

    Unless the public shakes them out of their delusion.

  20. Bes kroening

    Wait a minute. A movie is fictional story line; reality is that too many people have easy access to guns, and to tear gas. Tear gas??? Why do we need to buy tear gas; to get rid of cockroaches, spiders, or rats? Americans are allowed to buy just about any weapon, carry them around–even concealed, and we are surprised when some nut kills a bunch of us. A surprise and a shock over gun violence would actually come when weapons are hard to get, when they are not legal to carry around or legal to conceal, when background checks are so stringent that it takes many, many months to be cleared, and when there are no more “guns shows” on every week-end in nearly every town. We do need to respect those who were killed and injured by another crazed person who was allowed access to guns, but to further our respect and our remorse, we do not need to pull movies from theaters, or novels from book store shelves, we need to pull easy access to guns out of our nation—to truly give respect to those killed by gun violence in this nation, and there are many, many people, we need actual and strong gun control, and we need the NRA to get out of Congress!

  21. Proxy

    @ Talcott, in this instance I wonder that by going on business as usual, the killer and WB/decision makers would all be displaying a pathological lack of empathy. ?

    What strikes me as relevant is the fact the El Rusbo Limpbomb himself has been be-rating the Batman film before it was released in Denver. He was complaining that the bad-guy in the film was named BANE.

    Mr. Conspiracy himself has project a Conspiracy about this film in essence promoting Hatred about it along with the Hate being project at Pres. Obama by all the “Corporation” controlled media..it is no longer a “Liberal” controlled media because of the Corps dominating just about every media outlet.

    So how much El Rusbo-limpbomb played in promoting hate onto this film via his lame conspiracy tie-ing President Obama with the film producer who wrote this film before Obama was even known as a elected official, only shows just how ignorant El Rusbo LIMPbomb truly is.

    The projection of this hatred onto Pres. Obama and this film in my opinion does play a role in how this gun-nut-job made a choice to attack at this showing of the film…..the fairness in the media law needs to be re-regulated into law again.

    Did Rusbo Limp-bomb shout FIRE in the Media theater and incite this nut-job to go on a killing spree?…I thinks he played a part by promoting his foaming mouth hatred of Obama onto a film that had nothing to do with Pres Obama or the people this guy killed senselessly, just as Rusbo Limpbomb senselessly promoted hatred onto this film as a desperate attempt to smear Pres. Obama.

  23. Bes Kroening

    Maybe this Batman movie made this guy nuts; maybe he was already near the brink–movie or no movie–he might have broken into any movie or gone into any place, at any time–anything like this is possible, any time and any where USA. Maybe it was because it was a midnight movie premiere. All it takes is one person and a few guns and we have pain, killing, and heartache. This has actually happened many times in our country–this is just one more time. It will continue until we wake up, find reality in relation to our love of the gun, and make real laws that protect all of the citizens instead of just ones who are gun owners. Sorry, but if this guy had busted into that theater with just a knife, or a lead pipe, or a baseball bat (a few other possible weapons of choice) it is likely that the number of killed or injured would never be what it turned out to be. Btw: why is no one bringing up the Rush Limburger radio comments about Bain (aka financial/Romney) and the Batman in relation to this guy?

  24. Mark Lytle

    “The Dark Knight” is a twisted movie anyway. Check this out:

    http://willyloman.wordpress.com/2012/07/18/boycott-the-batman-nolans-chaotic-clunky-propaganda-machine/

    And Denver, with it’s bizarre airport, is full of bad vibes. Though it’s a horrible event, all the bad elements of theme and location were there…

    The movie is propaganda about the ‘War against Terror” and linked to the Occupy movement as a source of possible future terrorists (Yes, it’s a fascist movie). Check out the link I posted…

  25. Jack

    @Ditto
    Ditto, I would not be suprised if this was pulled off by the administration because “Fast and Furious” did not work out as planned. The NWO is desperate to disarm the American people before the official slaughter can begin. Mass murderers do not like it when the victims can fight back.

    THIS IS A DISTRACTION AWAY FROM THE LIBOR SCANDAL.

    And not only does this serve the purpose of distraction, but it puts intense pressure on the biggest threat to the global banking cartel; the 2nd Ammendment.

  28. SilverPorno

    UPDATE: WB have pulled advertising banners / animations / videos etc from all the websites all over the world that they were promoting the film.

    This comes from the agency who did all the work for them.

    So, they have responded.

  29. nanotech guy

    Stop with the fake bullshit “disgust”. I’m as pro-socialist pro-communist anti-corporatist as they come. But WTF good does stopping a movie do for the dead?
    Or their relatives? Answer: nothing. Like others already noted: movies didn’t kill. This idiot did. (Pisses me off that these idiots shoot up schools and movie theaters instead of at least doing some good by shooting up prison guards, the NYPD, or banksters.)

    After postal shootings, why didn’t the postal service shut down everywhere in “honor” of the dead?
    After school shootings, why didn’t all schools shut down everywhere in “honor” of the dead?
    After 911, why didn’t all tall office buildings shut down everywhere?

    Banksters actively hurt people when they commit fraud and use the police (NYPD) to protect themselves. Big moviemakers actively hurt small filmmakers by suing them with ACTA and PIPA and whatever. AGW-deniers actively cause the devastation of crops and homelands of displaced persons by actively interfering with global efforts to ban burning fossil fuels. That is why those actions and their causal agents (the banksters, the big moviemakers, etc) must be stopped. But big moviemakers do not actively cause anyone to get shot up by running their movies in theaters.

  30. JonnyJames

    I agree with Mark Lytle and posted something similar on an earlier thread. This movie is Hollywood propaganda bullshit, like most crap movies churned out by the film industry oligopoly.

    Fuck the stupid movie, fuck the Hollywood Cartel.

  31. JonnyJames

    From a more abstract perspective (from above)

    Doesen’t neoclassical economic theory teach that morals are not the concern of markets, they are externalities? Market preferences are assumed to reflect the morals of society right?
    Corporations, banksters and their politico-puppets and lackeys are always willing to sacrifice innocent people in order to make profits. I second that.

  34. JonnyJames

    “…Morals are merely normative values held by society and are automatically reflected in consumer preferences…” I should clarify: this statement is part of the assumptions underlying neoclassical economic theory.

    Law textbooks also assume that moral values are reflected in the law in a “democratic” society. What a load of bollocks (as my friends in the UK say)

  35. Eric Peterson

    I have no idea if the guy saw the movie…most likely he didn’t see the movie in the theater he did the shooting because it was the opening night first showing.
    My point is the hatred toward Obama that has been projected in the past few days by the RIGHT-wing nut-teabaggers attempting to link Obama to this movie because the the bad guy is name BANE….was projected by RUSh-BOZOO LIMPBOMB first…not sure if other gooze-stepping pundits have followed El-Rusbo’s lead?

    Mitt Romney’s BANE connections have been exposed by some in the media. His failure to disclose his tax returns like his father did when he
    was running to get the nomination, that was 12 yrs of tax returns…the lie
    that Mitt was not involved with BANE after 1999 has been exposed and this is the reason President Obama has been linked by RUSBO-LIMPBOMB
    in a Con-JOB-spiracy by RUSBO to the movie because the bad-guy is called BANE…talk about a LAME nut-job…who encourged another NUT-JOB by targetting that movie has played a role in the guys choice of attacking that movie at that theater….when his hatred for Obama is exposed…is only a matter of time?

  36. JonnyJames

    The only Rush I know about is a Canadian power trio (with a brand new album out Clockwork Angels). I don’t know what Eric Peterson is on about.

    ObamaRomney are just two Manchurian candidates chosen by the oligarchy. What do we think this is a democracy or something? The willful ignorance and blind ideological allegiance is quite disappointing

  37. Mark Lytle

    In a strange way, I take this tregedy as an omen. The omen is directed perhaps at Hollywood, or perhaps against the MIC, or both. They produced a movie designed to sow more hate, and a hateful response was what they got, in spades. I have sympathy for the victims and their families, but it’s time we stopped saying/thinking that action/adventure films packed with the hidden agendas of the political/military elites are simply O.K. and harmless. A society sublimnally programmed for violence over decades, is starting to deliver. As you sow, so shall ye reap.

  38. om i god

    If stupid ass Rush Limbaugh would only be informed of Obama’s Bain connections, maybe he’d see things differently. Nah, probably not!

    Excerpted from wsws.org:

    The Obama campaign has been careful to stop well short of any criticism of predatory capitalism, repeatedly signaling to its own supporters in the world of hedge funds and private equity that there is will be no shift in regulatory policy, despite the demagogy against Romney and Bain. One such signal was the decision to appoint Newark Mayor Cory Booker—who denounced the criticism of Bain Capital as “nauseating”—to the prestigious position of chairman of the platform committee at the Democratic National Convention.

    To complete the unedifying spectacle, the Obama administration now relies for its financial management on a former Bain executive, Jeffrey Zients, the acting head of the Office of Management and Budget (who replaced OMB director Jacob Lew, the former Citigroup banker who is now White House chief of staff). Zients began his financial career at Bain & Co., the company that spun off Bain Capital, and is believed to be the wealthiest individual in the Obama administration, with a personal fortune of $200 million, rivaling Romney’s.

  39. adampeart

    Oh god, this isn’t some “the movie made me do it” shit is it? Let the movie play! Yes, business as usual! Only a fucking retard claims movies or violent video games makes people snap. It’s the same bullshit I heard back in the early 90′s when a couple of dipshit kids killed some folks after watching Oliver Stone’s movie Natural Born Killers, or the same bullshit I heard in the 80′s when a couple of dipshit kids blew their faces off with shotguns because of ‘subliminal messages’ they heard listening to Judas Priest, or the same bullshit I heard in 2001 when some dipshits hijacked a couple of airplanes and flew them into buildings. Is the world supposed to stop rotating just because there are a few dipshits living on it? What the fuck do you want WB to do? Claim their product is as toxic as tobacco? Grovel? Put on sackcloth and roll around in a pile of ashes? Ridiculous. The notion there’s some ‘benefit’ to stopping screenings of a fucking MOVIE based on the actions of one dipshit in Colo-fucking-rado is beyond rationale or purpose. And I guarantee most of the dipshits posting here how profits are bad, and WB is evil and reprehensible are going to be the same dipshits that will pay to see this movie like the little hypocrites they are. I see it all the time here in Seattle. Little fuckers that demonize capitalism whilst sipping their Starbucks lattes and listening to their favorite emo bullshit on their Ipods.

  40. BOb

    Actually, it was Warner Bros. Studios that decided to halt their premier in Paris… not French officials. This guy needs to get his facts straight. Investigate before you write bud.

  41. Mark Lytle

    @adampeart

    The killer never saw the movie, so no, the movie didn’t make him do it. But the same society that produced a movie defending an obscenely lopsided wealth distribution, a society that makes ‘survivor’ a number one TV show a few years back, is a society that will grow sociopaths the way rain grows mushrooms.

    It is an omen of what the U.S. as a society is, and also where it’s going.

  42. Mark Lytle

    It’s also related to our currency, not backed in gold or silver, but by Empire, by the threat of violence. In no other way could such a parasitic organism as the U.S. economy (as currently constituted), survive. We produce very little, but carry a big stick. And we yell a lot, threaten and cajole. This is a process that works it’s way from the top on down.

  43. adampeart

    Oh and by the way, ‘subliminal messages’ are about as effective on the human psyche as bloodletting is to cure disease. I can’t believe people still fall for this unproven bullshit. Of course I can’t believe people still believe in colon flushing and magnetic bracelets for arthritis either. Man there are some gullible fuckers out there. But I guess the topic of subliminal and content messaging in films keeps the whole self-inflicted ‘eternal victim’ mentality alive and well, or at least enough for Max and Stacey to continue to demagogue every fucking issue that comes down the pike and make a profit off it. Funny to think how Max was pushing the ‘keep stacking everyone!’ message to all when silver was at $49/oz. while evil libertarians like Jim Rogers were repeatedly stating that it’s good to hold silver but the price is way too high to buy. When people listened to Max they ended up losing their shirts or at least the potential to buy more when the price became REASONABLE, while people who listened to Rogers (both ultimately being gold/silver bugs) have not and have been able to increase their holdings at a far better valued price. Max has some merit, like Alex Jones I suppose, but people need to start applying a little discernment and realize when they’re being sold a bag of goods and when they’re not.

  44. Mark Lytle

    @adampeart

    What’s sublimnal isn’t the message but the context. The messages are blatant, but the justifications are the subliminal part. If you want perpetual war, which is profitable, you have to do everything in your power to frustrate values that say otherwise. That has to be done by stealth, it can’t be obvious that you are inverting human values to maintain a War State.

    This is corrupting, and obvious.

  45. evolutis

    “Pulling Batman from theaters?” … The long, black town cars idle in the back alleys of wall street and we retaliate with a quilting bee, fer chris sake! Should the headline not read “pulling support from the monetary religion?” our response wait … for the next pre-med, canary in the coal mine of misinformation; the next heist.

    Oh yes! and make sure we kill the bankers and leave the “system” in place.[a little blood behind the right ear, the right thumb and big toe] they’ll believe it works … Information change cannot occur within a system that does not transfer information and yet promotes misinformation. Hasn’t blood, always worked against change?

    Like it or not, most of the world’s population creates happiness from watching the sun rise, guarantees a fresh one each day; a smart system we know little of.

  46. adampeart

    @Mark Lytle
    Yes, the U.S.- and having lived in France I can say it’s no different- is full of mindless narcissistic sociopath imbeciles. I couldn’t agree more. But until people stop playing the victim and start deriving some sense of personal empowerment and responsibility nothing will change. Ultimately, just look at it as natural selection.

  47. Mark Lytle

    @adampeart

    I’m all infavor of championing individual responsibility, but taken in isolation this is like saying campaigns for abstinence will stop teen-age pregnancy. It’s a version of ‘just say no’, as applied to other things. It’s helpful to realise that humans are not victims, but a form of animal, and animals -do- respond to their environment. Any philosophy that is only based on ‘personal responsibility’ alone will fail, as will any point of view that blames everything entirely on the environment.

    The most effective response recognizes both.

  48. adampeart

    @Mark Lytle
    I think what you’re referring to is ‘conditioning.’ Yes we’ve all been conditioned, that I cannot contest. But no one can ‘un-condition’ us but ourselves. Don”t hold your breath for the ‘conditioners’ to have a change of heart any time soon.

  49. Mark Lytle

    I really can’t agree with a point of view that gives corporations and governments a free ride to do anything they want, without constrainst of any kind and throws all responsibility back on the backs of the weakest and youngest (immature) members of a society to just do the right thing,no matter how they’re influenced.

    Kids can and do go to jail for their crimes, corporations never do.

  50. Dylan

    @Mark Lytle

    Thanks for the link. That was an eye opener.
    Having grown up on Batman comics, it seems clear to me that the Syndicate have hijacked the mythos for propaganda purposes. Seeing the power that Alan Moore`s V for Vendetta had in inspiring the OWS Movement, they have counter-posed V the symbol of revolution with Bane, the demonised version.
    Interesting that they pulled AJ`s hitpiece on the EVE of the massacre, knowing that he himself would rise to the bait.
    Didn`t believe it until now, this is a Psy-Op and False-Flag. Just hope the sheep can overcome the attempt to turn them all into Manchurian candidates.

  51. Mark Lytle

    @Dylan

    I grew up with Batman comics in the 1960′s, and it seemed more innocent back then.
    These things have been hijacked, and I take the current incarnation to reflect real anxiety about control by the elites. The Occupy movement has changed the dialog somewhat, but otherwise have not been a threat. Yet that dialog change apparently has had a deep impact somewhere, or this movie wouldn’t have been produced in the way that it was.
    The attempt to demonize the Occupy movement, given it’s relative modesty in numbers is telling.

  52. Mark Lytle

    It’s also the anxiety of a class of elites that have done and are doing very dirty things, and though not capable of guilt in a direct way, it still comes out as this ‘anxiety for control’. It’s the only thing that an undeveloped conscience can produce.

  53. Mark Lytle

    @Dylan

    Good link, I’m listening to it here in the background. I’ve heard Chris hedges before, but not recently. He does a great detailed job, with everything he does…

  54. BB Rebozo

    @jack

    You be right:
    9/11 staged deaths, no problem, Iraq innocent deaths no problem, Afghanistan innocent deaths ,no problem, Libya innocent deaths ,no problem, what other mass killings overseas, no problem (of course unless you are one of those who kill and see the bombed out bodies of children) Massive theft of the common wealth, no problem.
    So, what’s else is coming to America? Well for the elites, no problem.

  55. estevan

    Clearly, I’ve entered some nutso zone here. Did it cross anyone’s mind that the movie has little to nothing to do with the killings? Why on earth should a movie be pulled from theaters because a psychopath killed someone while the movie is playing?

  56. GP

    By the same logic, presumably after the Columbine shooting they should have banned/pulled the school curriculum from High Schools “out of respect for [the] dead”.

    I’d also suggest that Max is being somewhat hypocritical: Using a massacre as a political vehicle for attacking Warner Brothers for their crimes against the commons, whilst at the same time accusing them of insensitivity. Hmmmmm.

    GP

  57. Komon Senze

    @ Bes Kroening, you say that ‘laws’ didn’t protect the people that didn’t have guyns? do you understand how ignorant that sounds? Do you first understand the legal status of most people and that statutes are RULES (not LAW) of a pretend to be GOV corporation? Even if US was a REAL government with REAL LAWS, wouldn’t you think that having 95% of people with guyns been better as opposed to only 0% having them? Your proposed guyns laws are only enforced on the law-abiding people, therefore if no one is allowed to carry guyns and the criminals get them illegally from millitary and other death organizations. Then No good citizen will be able to protect themselves from criminals. It is guyns that protect you from guyns, not laws stooopid!!! Your argument about ‘well if he had pipes or a knife, then … ‘ stooopid and ignorant as if a mind-controlled psychopath will follow the ‘law’ !

  58. nanotech guy

    Sigh. 99% of my fights with people on the internet is with disagreements over the “should/ought”, not the “is”. I openly admit: most folks know more about the “is” of life. However, one thing that I DO know more about the “is” of life is this: idiotic complicated convoluted and almost always unproven economic/social/political theories about cause-and-effect. What others would derivisively call “conspiracy theories”, which I am now in the habit of either making myself avoid or making myself use it openly as a neutral term. Invariably, the “proofs” for these theories is cherrypicked evidence. And cherrypicked evidence is, by definition, logically inconsistent – because it is logically inconsistent with ALL evidence. The sum total of ALL actions, positive and negative, in a theory’s favor.

    So, no – all these very specific detailed theories about what evils the CIA or illuminatit or NWO actually plan and execute – and not just fantasize about – are complete bullshit. Greed, convenience, and the path of least resistance are the only “plans” that bad people in government make. Literally, the greedy algorithm, to borrow a phrase from discrete math.

    So, no – Warner Bros did not secretly PLAN for a gunman to shoot up a theater in the hopes of it increasing revenues. And drug companies do not deliberately plan to NOT cure disease in the hopes that that will increase revenue.

    Politics (which includes law) is dumb and brutish. Just shouting louder than the other player. And spinning any incident in the news in one’s favor.
    It is rarely the things people are ashamed of that they should be ashamed of.
    Those things, by definition, are the activities that people try to hide or curtail.
    It is the things that people are open, that they consider normal, the status quo, that they should be ashamed of.
    Sigh.

  59. nanotech guy

    Also, what Mark Lytle said about this mindless extremist view from libertarians that “personal responsibility” will solve everything. No, I do not mean government has to solve anything. Government is a tool, just like technology. Can be used for good or evil, which of course varies in the view of each individual. Fine – if government – i..e law – does not work, then don’t use it. But don’t stop (i.e. don’t get government) to stop me or Occupy Wall Street or Peta or prison reformers from doing whatever we feel is best – i.e. what maximizes fairness and justice.

    My not molesting children doesn’t stop player P from molesting children.
    My not eating meat doesn’t stop player P from torturing and killing fully sentient animals.
    My not being a dictator of a country and stealing all its wealth and killing or arresting anyone who protests doesn’t stop Jamie Dimon or Saudi Princes or North Korea’s Kim Jong Un from doing all that.
    My giving up my beloved car and riding and electric cycle, and not having kids, and switching my electric utility to an all-solar all-wind company so as to cut down on greenhouse gases does nothing to stop rabid fanatical AGW-deniers and polluters from relentlessly destroying the climate for the rest of us.

    My not imprisoning someone for expressing an opinion I don’t like
    doesn’t stop some population from passing a law somewhere else against freedom of speech. This is the particular situation that gets completely ignored by all the pseudo-personal-responsibility types: EVERY LAW THAT EVER EXISTED WAS **CAUSED** BY SOMEBODY (usually many): THEREFORE THE SUM TOTAL OF + and – EFFECTS OF THAT LAW MUST BE INCLUDED WHEN JUDGING THE CHARACTER OF THAT PERSON.

    So, great – I am not asking govt to stop these people for me. Now I can make all libertarians happy. Instead, I will take it upon myself to stop these people. I just ask that you don’t use govt (i.e. law, police) to stand in my (or OWS’s or the Greeks’ or climate activists) way.

    the “prussian school system” is at the root of this. you can’t produse sheeple on an industrial scale like that with out having a few of the weaker ones freak out from the stress of it all and go nutz, this is just one of the more tragic ways they lash out at the scocitial programing that they can’t quite to get to work. like a computer with incompatable software .

    This looks like a False Flag/ promo PR stunt cause Everyone I know … Knew when it was going to get released ……
    Not too clear as to what the intention was though.

    Bes Kroening hate to have to explane it BUT these “incedents have to be stacked against ACCUAL masacres like in the syrian towns along the turkish border or when the un abandons a group of”refugees” in thailand or the free fire fire zone called the congo OR WTF about toronto where LAST week some one shot up a block party and ran up a similar death toll to last nights ALL PLACES who bought this BULLSHIT:

    until we wake up, find reality in relation to our love of the gun, and make real laws that protect all of the citizens instead of just ones who are gun owners. Sorry, but if this guy had busted into that theater with just a knife, or a lead pipe, or a baseball bat (a few other possible weapons of choice) it is likely that the number of killed or injured would never be what it turned out to be.

    in japan denied fire arms the psycos used nerve gas NOT lead pipes !!! HOW ABOUT as A scocity we QUIT PRODUSING SO MANY PSYCOS it will solve ALL these types of problems insted of just the one!! as it stands in short order we will all need to be locked up when not working to pay our debts in order to preserve order. as you pointed out at the end of the day there are knives and clubs and with guns out of use those WOULD be used in incedents like this untill somthing were done about each of those in turn till were down to fists……classed as deadly wepons for ANY one trained to use them ! so NO martial arts eather (sorry no kung fu to save you this time we seen that trick coming) and even an untrained individual can kill if they try so “LOCK em up for there own good” is at the end of the day what your asking for. the reality is that there is no such thing as a deadly weapon only deadly people and there is no way to spot them in adavance

    I get tired of people blaming movies, TV, and video games for all of the violence that happens in the world. These three forms of media have only been around for a hundred years or less. Violence has been around a lot longer, or should we blame the Civil War on too many people playing Call of Duty games? Should we assume that Cain saw an episode of CSI, before killing Abel? It is not the fault of the media that we are a violent people, it is our own faults. A movie should not be shut down globally for the actions of one person. If we shut the movie down, then the killer wins, not the victims.

    This guy went in knowing how to survive and dress to the hilt. He bought the weapons six months in advance, pulling a movie and its advertising is appeasing who? Its a movie, a damn good movie. Who asked the parents of the 3 month old that got injured-WTF are you doing bringing a baby to a midnight showing of an action flick with all kinds of explosions and noise? This guy planned to be linked to the Batman franchise and is all kinds of effed up in the head. Why bother with metal detectors? The asshole went thru the EXIT DOOR? What? No alarm? Its one incident that a desperate and pathetic man is now linked to and is now famous for because of the beloved Media. Well done, keeping his name and face plastered on the web and tv for the world to see and him to enjoy. Unfuckingbelievable. America is headed for a hard hit because we are fed and we tolerate this bullshit and we even let it be celebrated but we dont learn from it. I dont like seeing anyone die so needlessly, but then I dont want to keep seeing it thrown in my face again and again of who did it. America is turning into a soft super power that is losing whatever credibility is left. This could have happened anywhere and at any time. Look at the bigger questions, how did he get automatic weapons with a 100 round drumroll? Really? The guy is from Cali not the wilderness, he doesnt know jack about hunting. The guy rigged his apartment with incendiaries—this is not some run of the mill jackass, this guy has a college degree and working on a PhD. The biggest question is WHY? What turned this guy to go this route? Money or self esteem issues? What do we expect when we expect no better than Snooki and the REALITY TV echelon. There is nothing of any worth that we watch.

    M&S… you’re working too hard! Take a holiday. No need to jump on anything that moves. Cancelling a film won’t make anyone feel better, and showin git won’t offend anyone.
