    I hate GM as much as anyone, but what we need is an experiment that can’t be so easily discredited. This experiment was shoddy at best, as the article described, and therefore, won’t be enough to stop Monsanto’s plague on the planet. I’m sure if anyone could get the funding to do an experiment of proper scale, the outcome would be the same. Of course, who has the money to do that? Only the people that are profiting from GM one way or another.

    C.A Fitts was talking about the centralization and industrialization goes back to the Doha Round of GATT. The framework of ‘global (legal) governance’ has allowed this.
    She also said that control of food supplies would also help to back up the dollar as well as new discoveries of huge natural gas reserves in the US.

    She, unlike Max and others, does not see a total collapse soon, but a “slow burn” as she says there is so much money “off budget” and that “Mr. Global” has more tricks up his/her sleeve to kick the can down the road.

    Also she says that huge money is coming in from China and Japan under the radar buying up land and other assets in the US. They have to unload their US paper, as it is losing value as we speak.

    Sorry, I did not specify the centralizaton and industrialization of the food supply goes back to Doha Round. As we know, Monsanto, Dow et al are behind writing the international agreements to facilitate their control over global food supplies.

    I doubt Monsanto and other biochemical engineering firms will end up having to pay for genetic pollution. The externalization of environmental and economic long term costs appear as if they may end up much more costly than any short term profits extracted by these companies.

    @easypoints, this is a professional study led by a Professor and peer reviewed by independent scientists. Peer review is considered very important in academic studies. The study itself even necessitated a comment from a Doctor by a respected London University.
    I agree many experiments have neferous funding behind them(big pharma for example) but its unlikely with this one.
    We had 4% cancer at the start of the 20th century and now we have 40%. with all this medical technology supposedly at hand why is there a 10 fold increase in a disease that was merely a rare medical curiosity before the 20th century.
