A federal appeals court ruled in favor of the Obama administration on Tuesday, extending a temporary emergency extension of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that was implemented by New York federal judge Raymond Lohier last month after an injunction was issued to hold the act by Judge Katherine B. Forrest.
The act gives the president the authority to indefinitely detain anyone in the world, including American citizens, without due process, for suspicion of supporting al Qaeda or other terrorist groups.
Tuesday’s decision was reached by a U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit motion panel comprised of three judges: Denny Chin, Raymond Lohier and Christopher Droney, all of whom were appointed by President Obama.
“We conclude that the public interest weighs in favor of granting the government’s motion for a stay.”

So does this mean Prez Obama will detain the entire US State Department, the Qatar government, and the Turkish government for supporting Al Qaeda in Syria?
The judge who over ruled the detention law was the wrong judge. Let’s ask our, I mean these judges. Oh they say it is in the public interest that any members of the public can be thrown into a pit for no reason and have no legal voice or recourse and the government doesn’t even have to acknowledge or inform that they are are now in the pit forever. Glad to know the government is SO benevolently looking out for everyone’s BEST interests.
To recap. For your freedom it is necessary that the government can, without showing reason, LOCK YOU UP forever. Don’t you just love the smell off freedom from inside a cage.
surprised or not – one of the most disappointing out comes of this whole debacles is how much democrats don’t care – I’ll never vote for another one
“for suspicion of supporting al Qaeda or other terrorist groups.”
And no doubt the definition of terror group is so ambiguous and nebulous that anyone can be a terrorist. Talk about walking, eyes wide shut, into a totalitarian system!
Treason is honored. Executions will be honored. This insanity does not surprise me. I do not accept it. Psychopaths in power are still psychopaths. Voting will fix nothing and the justice system is corrupt to the marrow.
