William I’ve a suspicion you get much less flack for this kind of take on Obama these days than in the past. I’ve noticed it among pro-Obama liberal friends even black ones if I make some rip about him instead of coming out fighting they usually drop their head and change the subject and even those who don’t now usually mumble “I wan’o see how the second term goes because I say anything more because remember he was up against a lot of reactionary forces and had to play the game if he was to get a second term and…” and then the heart goes out them their voices tail of then they change the subject.
Put it this way “It’s a miracle!” and “Maitreya!” never seems to get mentioned in the same breath by the Jane Fondas of the world anymore.
ps I’ve adored Jane Fonda since Cat Bellou approved of her Hanoi Jane phase but after allowing myself to be fooled into voting for Tony Blair I knew all the signs. There’s nou’t so easy to fool as good hearted well intentioned people.

In the beginning I got hammered. I depicted him as Wall Streets uncle tom. But I defended myself by pointing out what a hypocrite the man is, how his own people were suffering more than anyone else and what other disenchanted progressives and black activists were saying. Now its all out in the open and impossible to deny. I am also intolerant of comments in my threads that are racist venom.
It is very interesting to look at all the satirical images of the man on the Internet and how many mainstream cartoonists have now embraced the fascist theme. Three years ago comparisons to Nazism were considered distastefully fringe.
