Why doesn’t someone post the Spectator article on the video at Youtube? I can’t as i am and will not register with them…

He is getting away with it because of economic ignorance. Most of them don’t know the difference between debt and deficit let alone the way governments can hide debt off balance sheet and minus on-going unfunded liabilities.

“Paying down britains debts………..Insisting on excellence in our schools………sorting out the welfare system……tackling out of control immigration……doing what’s right for britain in the long term.”

STFU David Cameron you utter lying cunt.

I caught the advert in question last night and was amazed at the outright dishonesty of it. Last November it was reported that the uk.gov was borrowing more than the previous year which, correct me if I am wrong, is an increase in deficit and as a result a sharper increase in national debt and not a reduction.
We did have a cunning act of sleight of hand that took the coupon payments from QE purchased gilts and paid them back to the treasury so perhaps we can credit them with that masterstroke, whilst berating them for the inflation that making money up from thin air and using it to pay the national debt has produced.
I am with W-m-w’s observation of Mr. Cameron.

MSM, as quick as ever. I’ve been telling people this since 2009.

There was a Channel 4 programme on a couple of years ago where various politicians were asked what the current total debt of the UK was (at that stage about £860 billion). Only one got anywhere near, and he was quoting the anuual deficit rather than the total. I’m not sure where it is now, but at that time the total debt inclusing unfunded liabilities was north of £4 trillion.

Maybe his handlers slipped up just to see if all the tory-gloryshine has woken anyone up?

PM’s, these days, seem more like pack horses, trained and guided, to ignore the noise, follow the lead and deliver the goods, not matter how shabby. The UK people may need a longer stick.

Actually @Monsanto, I didn’t vote for this bunch of Tory Etonian twats and I’m nothing to do with bankers so I’ll pass on my portion of crud and hell on earth if it’s all the same to you.

@what me worry? Love your last line.
