A Steve Quayle reader has reported that the 2 dozen gold Krugerrands he kept stored in his safety deposit box in a Cincinnati 5/3rd Bank have been confiscated, and that the 5/3 Bank Manager informed him that a CIA agent was the culprit who cleaned out his stash of phyzz- but that all fiat dollars were left untouched in the box.
While this in an anecdotal account, this emphasizes a point we have long made here at SD: if you don’t hold it, you don’t own it!
This sounds like bullshit. First off, the CIA does not investigate mob activity. Two, there’s no name or anything to corroborate the story, not even the bank branch. Three, they would take the cash. It spends as well as anything else. Don’t give me bull about how it’s fiat. You can easily take it to a coin shop and convert it all to metal.
Hey, I’m Max did all the legwork it would take to back up this story as fact, before placing it on his website. He was in Cincy just this morning interviewing the bank manager and victim of this crime. And I’m sure he’s been in touch with his peeps at the CIA. 20 krugerrands should be able to fund the US military for another millisecond or two.

This story is a fabrication. I work for Fifth Third Bank and have a safe box at the institution. You need 2 keys to get into your safe box. 1 key is owned by the bank, 1 key is owned by the box owner. First, you must show identification that you are the owner. Second, you must sign the in/out log at the bank branch. Third, your key and the bank key is then used to access your box. The only way any law enforcement agency can get into you safe box is by court order. Then the box lock would have to be drilled, making the customers key useless and the safe box unusable. The customer would then need to be issued a new safe box with new keys. This story has a lot of holes, and cannot be accurate.
