Stacy Summary: Thank god these ‘freedom’ lovers are going to protect us from the oligarchs and banksters. Um . . . not? What a sad, sad day that this movement has gone from a group that was against bailouts (which happened under the Bush / Paulson regime) and against the Fed, to becoming a fanatical bunch of partisan apologists for their own party’s crimes.

Stacy Summary: We’re used to the US meddling in Latin America, ex-Soviet states, Africa and the Middle East, but this bit in Scahill’s latest Nation article caught my attention: The Nation has learned from well-placed special operations sources that among the countries where elite special forces teams working for the Joint Special Operations Command have been deployed under the Obama administration are: Iran, Georgia, Ukraine, Bolivia, Paraguay, Ecuador, Peru, Yemen, Pakistan (including in Balochistan) and the Philippines. These teams have also at times deployed in Turkey, Belgium, France and Spain.

Stacy Summary: Ahhhh, okay, I’ve stopped laughing so much that I was unable to post this until now. I’m not 100% sure this isn’t, in fact, actually Tina Fey or The Onion, but if so, it’s a good one.
“I don’t know why the question isn’t asked by the mainstream media and by others if there’s any connection with the contributions made to president Obama and his administration and the support by the oil companies to the administration,” she told Fox News Sunday.

Stacy Summary: Or that’s essentially what he is saying. It doesn’t seem network news or newspapers is a threat in his eyes, it is a threat when you get it from unembedded sources? Or is he saying the deployment of information as distraction should be monopolized by the government in their monopoly on propaganda? I seem to recall, for example, his campaign releasing frivolous information about what Candidate Obama had on his iPod . . .

Stacy Summary: Oops. Drill, baby, drill, dead in water. Four weeks ago, Obama reversed campaign promise and approved offshore drilling, today he is putting all projects on hold. Update: Morgan Stanley pays $14 million to settle accusations of hiding complex oil trades. There is that word ‘complex’ again and yet again (as per the banana republicanization trend) a select group of oligarchs get to ‘settle’ claims without having to admit guilt or face any real consequence.

Stacy Summary: Sounds like Ron Paul watched our interview with BJ Lawson . . . (um, that’s a joke for all those who couldn’t tell . . . )
Here is Max discussing this very thing with BJ Lawson two weeks ago:
