- In this edition, Max Keiser brings in Gonzalo Lira, a Chilean economist who gives his views on the Latin American countries’ economic status before and after the 1973 coup. He says Chile’s economy was suffering from the Allende-proposed economic reforms, which led to a spiraling inflation and finally blew out of control. People knew the economic status of the country was beyond remedial measures and all they needed was a coup. Max says the picture of Chile’s economy at the time strikingly resembles today’s economy and people in the world need a radical change, they need an “economic dictator”.
